This service is great! I work crazy hours so going to the grocery store is exhausting. Being able to grocery shop from your phone makes life such a breeze. The app is easy to use and intuitive. I use the app as my shopping list by adding things to my cart as the week progresses, and then scheduling an order when I need to. There are times when the store I order from is out of something I ordered but if the possible replacement isn't available they are very good about verifying other options. One time I even gave feedback about the packaging for the fresh baked goods, not expecting anything, and they offered to redo and replace. And delivery was going to be on them. The prices are relatively close to in store, so really it's just the tip (10% of the order) and delivery fee which is usually about $5, it's a great choice if you think time is money!

I also really like their shared cart feature, allowing multiple people to add items to the same cart and then make an order all at once. Perfect for families or if you have roommates!

Overall you should definitely give it a try, especially with the $10 coupon I gave you!!

I love this service! Sure, paying a delivery fee and a tip for the person that runs around the store collecting the items for you might feel a lot in the beginning, but once you realize how much time and hassle you save by not having to go to the store yourself and considering the fact that your grocery arrives at your doorstep within TWO HOURS - it's totally worth it! It means you can make up your mind what to cook for lunch during the AM and still have it delivered by noon without interrupting whatever you are doing. Also, the service I have experienced so far was stellar. I ordered an air chilled whole chicken from Wholefoods once and the girl collecting my items texted me since the smallest chicken available was higher weight than what I had entered. I could just ask her to pick the smallest available chicken and the price for the order was adapted accordingly. Fantastic! Also, the girl realized from the items on my order that I had someone sick at home, so when she arrived instead of ringing the doorbell she knocked in order to not wake a possibly sleeping person. Now that I call extraordinary! So, very very happy with this so far and definitely recommend.

I've used Instacart for over a year now and have so much gratitude for the service. Yes, some stores have a markup. Yes, there's a tip and delivery fee. However, it all feels worth it for the incredible convenience of placing an order at bedtime or from work and scheduling a delivery when it's convenient for the family. My kids treat the deliveries as a special gift, excited to see what I've picked out as a surprise for them. I can now spend my tiny tidbits of free time actually preparing meals or being with my kids rather than fighting traffic and over shopping because I'm too tired and hungry to stick to my budget. With Instacart, every delivery has occurred within the time allotted. I get texts when the shopper has questions and when the delivery driver is on the way. I can track their progress from my app, can actually follow the driver as they make their way to my house! I can calculate my expenditures on my own time. I can't tell you how shopping this way has helped keep me in line for both budget and diet. I hope in future the service expands and costs go down, but so far, I am willing to pay extra for the peace of mind I get.

Being physically challenged, Instacart has been a real pleasure to use! I don't use Safeway much anymore, because it takes too long and they charge a delivery charge along with a fuel charge. The only thing I would like to see changed is to retain the notes left for my delivery addresses rather than have to retype them in each time. I like the feature with replacement items too. Every person that has delivered to me has been warm, caring and friendly. They always call me with any issues and I so appreciate that! I haven't had to contact C/S yet, but I'm sure if I had an issue, they would solve it quickly. The only thing that I don't like is that the delivery notes are saved for both locations (work/home) and not separated, so I have to add new directions depending on where my items are going. Based on another review, I hope your employees are treated fairly! Everyone I've encountered has been very nice, caring, and wanting to help me with my grocery items. Keep up the good work you're doing! Can't wait for this to go nationwide...if I ever move, I'll use this service without hesitating! Yay!

Instacart has revolutionized our domestic life, at least as far as food goes! Now I can count on a well stocked fridge and pantry without the stress of squeezing in trips to the store, and taking time away from work and family to shop. This means more going to the park and less dragging my tiny kids to the store on the days I have with them (I also work part time, and life is just really busy).

I've found we have been eating better, going out to eat less, and even saving money - especially in cases where searching in the app lets you price compare and quickly look for sale items.

I love being able to save items to my favorites list, and like how easy it is to search for items and recognize past purchases with the "buy it again" feature.

We enjoyed the two week express trial and then signed up for the annual membership.

The shoppers have been speedy, thorough regarding substitutions when items are out of stock, and tend to pack things really well.

And that is TIME! Seriously, the hour a few times a week required for grocery shopping has been eliminated and I can fit workouts, walks with my dog, and actually cooking healthier meals into those hours instead. I feel that I have a better stocked kitchen which helps me to eat healthier...also, and let's be honest, no more throwing random "instant gratification" items into my cart cuz I'm absolutely starving by the time I make it to the grocery store. The app works really well, especially if you know what you want, but, as other reviewers have mentioned, it sometimes has little nutritional info, so that's a problem if you're buying something new. I find the notes and replacement instructions are truly helpful, and almost every shopper calls if they have a question or they need to replace something. The app is simple and even shows your "favorites" when you first log on. I highly recommend the app and the company--instacart will change your life for the better!

I apologize for the length but this app is so amazing I have to rave about it.

The shopping experience is user friendly and service is exceptional. (1 hour? That's amazing. Pizza deliveries can take longer.) I received an email update my delivery was delayed and was provided another free delivery to make up for it.

My shopper called to inquire about an item I ordered (did I want fresh or frozen salmon), and since an item I ordered was out of stock, suggested an alternative - I had the option of canceling that particular order.

Prior to rotator cuff surgery my dietician recommended a pre-made meal delivery company because I wouldn't be able to prepare my own food. I canceled my service with them because I didn't like the food, among other issues. Instacart is the answer. I can choose from several markets, offering healthy pre-made meals. (Except I ordered ice cream - yum!)

So I was reluctant to use this app just because there were only 6 reviews. I hardly review my apps, but I thought I'd stop by and review this one!

I ordered wine from Binny's in Chicago because I wanted a decent wine! I didn't feel like leaving the house because I'm studying for a giant exam for my job. I ordered Franciscan Merlot and this app allowed me to choose a backup product in case the original choice was out of stock, which is was. I opted for 14 Hands Merlot. My delivery came on time with David, who followed the delivery instructions because I live in a high rise. He verified my age and ID. Super legit and very prompt.

In a nutshell, I am extremely satisfied with the service. I have yet to receive the final charge, which I am informed that it will be completed shortly. It pre authorized an amount, which is smart in case. Overall, thus far, I recommend this application. Thank you.

Being a resident of Chicago, I've come to terms with how crappy the weather can become at any given moment. I gave up my car when I moved to the city, so trudging to the grocery store in a couple of inches of snow has become the norm. This app is fabulous when I don't feel like walking in below freezing temperatures to the grocery store for produce or liquor that my building's commissary doesn't sell. It's also nice when I want to purchase bulk items from Costco when I have neither a membership nor a car. Living in the city, I'm very used to paying outrageous prices for food. I'm paying more for the convenience. The customer service is quick and friendly, and refunds are easy. In my personal opinion, Instacart is a fabulous app when the weather is awful, if I'm too busy to stop at the grocery store, or if I'm buying more groceries than I can carry.

Just received my first order and I am IN LOVE with this app and the service. My order was prompt and perfect. I am recovering from surgery and have been housebound. I found the app very easy to use. I liked the SMS communication as my order was being prepared. It was so nice to have some fresh groceries delivered today. The produce I received was beautiful! I previously had groceries delivered from another grocery store through their in-house system, but the produce I received was terrible (very old strawberries, one rotten apple, one wrinkled apple). I looked at the other reviews here and it sounds like quality and customer service may vary depending on area, but I can tell you that my experience was excellent. I have another big surgery coming up in a month and am relieved to know this service is available.

Great convenience, delivery folks are nice, hustling to get the job done and with a positive attitude.
Con: I know the selection on the app is restricted, compared with going to Whole Foods myself. I'd love to see Instacart be able to up the store's inventory selection on the app. But like I said, can't beat the convenience and the people I've dealt with have been great.
One more thing - the location of the TIP fill-in on the app is below where my address is located, and it does not show on the screen unless you scroll down a bit. This lead me to miss giving a decent tip on one occasion, and I felt like a chump. It'd be great for Instacart to put the TIP fill-in in an easy-to-spot location. If your staff are hustling (and it looks like they are!), you should make it easy for us to give a tip. Thanks.

I've always thought food, drink, dessert, etc. should deliver. If pizza can do it, why not everything else?? The bad reviews say it costs a delivery fee plus higher percentages of some items to use Instacart... Okay? Someone has to not only drive to and from the store of your choice to deliver, but they also get to dodge the horrible people blocking all aisles of supermarket hell for you, oh and do it in a couple hours or less. Not only pay the guy, but invite him to dinner! I'll pay for that and I'll also pay for house movers because I'd rather. If Instacart also did laundry?? I'd split my paycheck. There are certain luxuries that I hope stick around, because my life can surely be wasted doing other things, grocery shopping with Grandma Decrepit not being one of them. Sorry Grandma

I love the service! Everyone is so very friendly and I have everything good to say about my shopping experiences over the last year. As a person who happens to be blind, I value the wonderful excess ability of the app. Voiceover, my iPhone's screen reader, tells me everything but a sighted person would hear on the screen. Also, when I had questions about the website, and the app, customer service was amazing and encouraged me to reach out to them with any further questions! The only thing I would like to see is the ability to add my Costco card. Even without this, I save the hassle of having to find a driver/shopper to go with me to Costco and use my own card. Love it, love it, love it! You also can't beat ordering 40 pounds of kitty litter and having it delivered from Petco!

I am a disabled person and having this service has allowed me to provide fresh, healthy food for my family. I wish all the stores were priced the same as in store but I do get it. The customer service at Instacart can't be beat! If ever there is a problem they are right on it and offer options to make it right! They have saved me more than once when my husband forgets a potluck at work or my son has something needed for school. I love this company and hope they continue to add more stores to their list. Target and Trader Joes would be great! It would also be better if I could use my own Costco membership number to get my percentage at the end of the year. Google uses my number so I think Instacart should be able to do the same. Over all I can't live without them!

Great service. With two small kids, I can place an order in the evening and have fresh groceries for their lunches the next day, without having to drag them to the store. The Instacart shoppers are helpful and call whenever something is not available and try to help find a replacement. My only beef is with Whole Foods for not keeping inventory of our favorite foods and sometimes items that we have ordered "disappear" from the app. But, if I make a special request, the Instacart shoppers always find it. Today, an Instacart shopper named Mike called me after our groceries had been delivered to let us know that Whole Foods just brought out some organic strawberries and he delivered them at no extra charge. So happy with the service.

As someone short on time and who has two kids and a guy to feed and somehow grocery shopping always falls on me, this app is a godsend. I have only used fresh direct for delivery service and felt like the process took as long and was as involved as if I went to the store myself, not to mention the brands I like were not carried by fresh direct. Here, I can order from whole foods at 9pm when the kids are in bed, it takes 15 min tops and I have it by the time I go to bed for milk for breakfast in the morning. The app is intuitive and so far, the service has been fantastic. It's a convenience service for sure--but worth it if you're ordering a lot and you have kids and/or work beyond store hours, etc. and it's super easy to use.

Just received my first delivery -- perfectly on-time, somehow showed up in like 1.5 hours, with a nice 10-minute head's up to let me know they were on the way. The deliverywoman was also super nice -- actually smiling when she showed up.

One minor complaint: Don't have the deliveryperson call me to go through each substitution again after I've already taken the time to go through the entire order and approve alternates/cancellations for each individual item. Same goes for receipt notification: Either do text or do email, but don't buzz me twice for the same thing. Instacart is appealing to me because I'm either busy with other stuff or being lazy; in either case I definitely dont want to be bothered any more than I have to.

I've always wanted to do my grocery shopping online, but I've never pulled the trigger until Instacart. My husband and I were always too tired from our work week to make time for grocery shopping, and then we'd even forget stuff to buy by the time we came home from the store. This app helps solve those issue for us. We were able to shop at Costco and a local supermarket from the convenience of our bed. We now have our fridge stocked with lunch and dinner ready items. It also saves us money in the long run from eating out at restaurants too often, from purchasing impulse items at the store, & of course on gas. Overall, we had a great experience with Instacart & we look forward to placing our second order!

I tried this service out as the first try is free delivery. The service blew me away!!! The delivery person was very professional, courteous and friendly and seemed very interested in my order and making sure I got what I wanted. The delivery was done immediately within my hour time frame which was impressive in itself. She delivered with a smile on her face and took time to explain how the system worked so I would be prepared for future orders. I was so impressed with ease of use of the app too.

I have just placed my second order and hope to continue the great experience. With the money I will save from avoiding 'hungry' or impulse buying I will gladly pay the tip and delivery charges!!!
