While traveling, I use this to check gas prices in towns ahead on my route. That way I know to get gas where I am, even if we still have half a tank, or wait till we get to a town with cheaper gas. Remember though, check the date the price was posted. The longer it has been since it was reported, the more likely the price is different now. Do everyone a favor & report prices as often as you can. At least when you stop and get gas. Hey, you might just win $100 in gas!
There is one small problem. Sometimes it takes a long time for the app to open. It gets irritating if I am trying to post prices while going past different gas stations. & at times, while it is taking too long to open, it gives up & my phone goes back to the home screen.

I think this might be my first review ever of anything. At least a written one not just putting in stars. I won't say much but what I will say is that I love this app. When you have a car that gets 15 miles to the gallon, you're always looking for the best bang for your buck. I have loved this app and used it for the past few years now. The only time I ever didn't use it was when they took away the option to put the route in Google Maps; I doubt very seriously that I was the only one to boycott the app at that time. The wonderful people working for this particular app must have seeing this and taken action rather quickly because the option for Google Maps appeared soon after that. Thank you so much for this app. Don't live without it!

Simple and easy to use. Accurate pricing because of its user generated pricing model. I love the map search feature because it lists the prices as well as the stations in the area. I also really appreciate the filter feature for searching for a specific fuel grade. My only suggestion would be to add a feature that allows users to report the quality of fuel. For example not all diesel fuels are made equal. Some vehicles require an ultra low sulfur 15ppm fuel and lots of stations blend bio fuel into their mix that can cause havoc on certain engines. Just as in regular fuel they blend ethanol into the mixture. This would be a great addition to help users make a more informed decision of the quality of fuel not just the price or distance.

Gasbuddy is one of my daily use applications.
I find it profitably useful for locating gasoline prices, and because it depends on up to date information from many users, I am pleased to enter current information myself to the database.
Of course I'm encouraged by the daily challenges point awards and work to achieve those goals, for it is a fun game, and I enjoy watching my points and entering for free gasoline, although I'm still waiting: it is a drawing, and I've never won. I keep trying.

I sometimes modify my Highway trips with the aid of Gas Buddy with the knowledge of gasoline prices I'll expect to see several hundred miles forward. In some cases, it has meant saving several dollars by staging refueling stops.

I like this App.

This is the App on my phone that I use most! I go for groceries, etc. to a city about 20 mins. away. My town has a gas station that's often cheaper but not all the time. I like that I can check gas prices there vs at home so if I need gas, I know whether to get it here or wait. I also like it when traveling. It definitely helps save money and I love that it lets me know when prices are going up so I can fill up and beat the price increase. I hope to be a $100 gas card winner! That would be the icing on the cake

At long last, Gas Buddy finally is available in the Virgin Islands! Woohoo! Now, why the delay in suggesting stations, having them show up on the list and being able to report prices? Oh, and how is it someone else found out about it before I did?!!

I second the review about showing stations only ahead of you - maybe an option on the "nearest" screen.

Also, again asking for the ability to display only a particular brand, like the PC based version. I've asked for this feature for years, to no avail. when we have loyalty accounts and available discounts, we want to see those stations, regardless of others nearby. Give us the option to sort by brand! (You are doing "top tier" now - why? Someone asked for that?)

I've used this app in the city and quite a few times on the road for long distance trips. This app saved my asp on a drive from Houston to LA. If anyone is familiar w that I-10 stretch where there's seemingly no gas stations, let alone a phone signal in certain areas, u know what I mean. My tank was on E and I STILL was able to find a gas station in a little town before I ran out! I love this app, simple, no bells whistles and extra stuff. Just "where's the nearest gas...what's the cheapest gas" I've been lucky, or maybe this app just kicks asp, but the price quotes have been accurate at every location w an exception of one, that was a penny cheaper. Get this app. You WILL use it!

you don't realize how much of a difference there is in prices between all the stations in your area. It's fun to report gas prices and save up your points to enter the $100 gas card giveaway that they have every day. But the most useful part of this app is when you are traveling! That's what I used to hate about getting gas in an area I didn't know, I felt like I was getting ripped off. But with this you just hit one button and boom there's all the gas stations around you and you can sort them by distance or price so you can find the closest gas station to you when the tank is real low and you don't want to risk it. Or the cheapest and get the best deal in that area .

Well the update issued today really messed it up the app locked up and you could not do anything. Nothing would work. Shut down and restarted the app several times even rebooted the phone, but nothing worked, regardless of what I tried. As with other apps sometimes you can delete the apps and then reinstall them and all works. I did, signed in now I don't have any points at all or any of the rewards that I had earned. I just hate to see the app guys mess up a good app with their updates, fix the app and restore all points and rewards. Don't make us go looking for another app, this happens too often with updates, please make sure the updates work before you release them.

Read the reviews - EVERYONE ❤️loves❤️ this app! The whiners who complain about the prices being wrong need to remember that the prices are reported by us, the users! Contribute, and help keep the numbers up to date! This app may not be too helpful when you're at home (and you know all of the stations), but if you're traveling, it can mean the difference between paying one price at a station near the freeway on/off ramp, or driving two blocks and saving more than 60¢ per gallon! That's $12 for a 20 gallon fill-up. That's enough for a BIG Freedom Dip sandwich, fries and a large chocolate shake. Not that I'm recommending anything...

Just got back from a 3000 mile trip, this app saved us money at every fuel time. We found gas just a few miles further for more than a dollar less per gallon several times. 4.59 a gallon at three stations in a town. Just three miles down the road, farther in the desert and no way to know they were there, were two big truck stops with fuel at 2.99 a gallon. Amazing, every time we were ready to fuel I just popped open the app, and knew where the cheapest fuel around was. Always saving at least 50 cents per gallon. Download it, it works. The ads never bothered me much. I do wish I could pay for the app to remove them. Thanks for a wonderful money and time saver.

I'm so glad I found this! Although I'm , my experience has been excellent with correct price listings and finding the absolute lowest price of every level of gasoline⛽️. Wonderful app. Share it with your friends. Sequence station prices by price or distance, and it shows which are "Top Tier" if you're careful about what you feed your engine. Users should pass by stations with prices that are not competitive. Great to have when you're on a trip so you won't get burned by the station closest to the Interstate. I also like that prices are allowed to "expire" some number of hours after they are posted. Users can establish a profile and post prices. They can also confirm accurate prices which has the same effect as posting new prices as far as the expiration clock is concerned. Wonderful and very useful application.

One of the best apps for saving money. With it, I found several gas stations on routes I regularly travel that cost 16 to 20 cents less than the station I was using. You can display a map that shows stations with their price per gallon. You can zoom in and out. You then can switch to a list display that presents stations in order of either distance or price. The stations included corresponds to the zoom on the map: the farther out the zoom, the more stations included. When you touch the icon for a particular station, you are taken to info about that station including directions to it. You can search by type of gas - regular, premium, etc.

This is one of the very few true money saving apps. I am very surprised how many times I have changed my fueling destination due to price differences provided by this app. I expected it to be helpful while traveling, as it is, but I use it whenever fueling up, home or away. It works well and has never crashed. You still have to be aware of the pump price being higher than the posted sign price, but that is not the fault of the app. In fact, there are times the price listed in the app is correct, and the sign is still wrong. This shows the importance of each of us keeping it updated. I have no complaints about this app.

This App has some new changes, for some reason people are just off the wall and report fake gas prices just so they can move up the ladder on the leader board.. It's crazy.. In my area there is a member called GasDetective that reports prices all over town and into the next city at the same time.. What a jerk.. It's people like this that makes this app a problem for not getting Honest Gas Prices.. I wish they would update this app where you cannot post prices unless your at the gas station.. WHY NOT IT HAS A GPS ADDED INTO THE APP... COMON DEVELOPERS OF THIS APP IF YOU CANT FIX THIS PLEASE DONT CREATE ANYMORE APPS..

This is a great app and has saved me tons of money.
However it could be improved further. The app should include the hours that the gas station is open, or at least an indication whether it's currently open or not.
It's very frustrating to drive an extra distance to save money, only to discover the station is closed.
I also wish that you could see the prices of all grades at one glance, rather than selecting the grade to see those prices. I have cars that run on regular and ones that run premium.
Lastly, there should be a favorites page where you can see current prices at the stations you regularly fill up at.

This has to be one off the best apps I own, period! It is highly accurate, because of all other owners that participate in entering gas prices, but also just super convenient.

As a salesman I travel all over the place and this app helps me greatly. Although I know exactly where I am going, of course I do not always know when a gas station is let alone the price.

The main tool is the price of course. By having an idea of what prices are, I can figure out very quickly if it is with driving for the few cents I might save, or just plan ahead knowing where the best priced station is. It is just a great app.

I love the taste of the Gas Buddy app. If you've never tasted it you're missing out. It's like nothing you've ever tasted. Ummmmmm so good. Imagine your favorite flavor and multiply it by your mpg and that's how good it is. Don't go a day without your Gas Buddy app.... If you do your wallet will be a little flatter. I went without my Gas Buddy app the other day and I was running a little lean all day long. Once I tasted it again I was running on all cylinders. I love their prompt that reminds you not to use the app while driving. Thanks for saving my life Gas Buddy you're the best (gas pricing app).

On a road trip to the Midwest: knew I needed to fill up in Las Vegas. Gas was running 2.79 all the way from Primm at the border to the center of the town near the interstate. Gas Buddy informed me that the Pilot Station at the far north end of town at Craig Rd was at 1.79/gal for regular. Saved 16 bucks just by having this app. It is indispensable if you are out on a road trip. The prices are really being kept up by the crowd sourced reporting system and the map updates are really fast if you decide to move around on the map. App does exactly what it need to, smoothly and quickly. Highly recommended
