I honestly was skeptical at first to try this app because of some of the reviews. Then I put in for a transfer of funds to my bank account and sweated not getting it once again because of reviews. Well I received my payout of $120 this morning which was less than 24hrs from when they said the request would be processed which if you read clearly is the Monday FOLLOWING when you put it through. I even read this wrong at first. So far I am happy with the app and people shouldn't blame the app for things people sell you its your job to research thoroughly it is impossible for them to go through each persons items and make sure everything is accurate. Being that the app is in beta the customer service may not be that great either but how will they learn! Cut a little slack people it's an ever developing app been out for 1 year. It'll get better I'm sure!

I had originally been completely against Mercari and I only sold on Poshmark. Recently, Poshmark raised their shipping charges on top of the fact that they already charge commission, so enough was enough. I still have my Poshmark store but I have begun selling on Mercari, the fact that they offer different choices for shipping and they don't charge a commission fee completely sold me. I find that it is easy to use and the only problem I see with it is that as a seller it's hard to track down your buyer. On Poshmark I was able to follow and share the items of others, bringing them to my closet where they could see the items that they were looking for. Mercari eliminates the personal connection that a buyer can have with the seller. Overall, the app is good considering they don't charge commission. I would recommend it to others for sure.

I love this app because there is no commission taken from your earnings, it is super easy to use, & you can sell anything not just clothing. The people who get scammed are the people who pay the seller OUTSIDE of the app on PayPal. Don't do that!! If a seller says "paypal only" that is a red flag. If you don't get the item you paid for via PayPal that is NOT Mercari's fault. You trade at your own risk! This app is for buying and selling only. Buyer pro: the seller does not get paid until you receive your item & rate the seller (that should be enough incentive for seller to be honest & ship fast). Seller pro: if the buyer takes too long to rate you, about 5 days since the buyer received their item(s), Mercari will rate you & you get your money! I've been using this app for like 2-3 weeks and I have made about $350! Give it a chance.

I got introduced by a seller online saying this wont charge fee so I tried out. After a month, I listed several authentic Louis Vuitton for sell, suddenly I got warned saying counterfeit items. They dont even give me any chance to prove and just delete my account. I was in the middle of buying another bag for $700, I checked my account and they charged twice. They later returned 1 transaction but not other. I tried to contact them through help but never get any response so I have to call my credit card company to report. They are such a pain. No Direct Customer Service for you to contact. Double charge on your account. Im crossing fingers for my credit card comp to solve this. NEVER EVER USES THIS... A real company alway have a phone number or email some sort for you to directly talking to them, not this one. SCAM...

I can't say as I agree with other reviews saying that customer service is horrible. I had one person not ship the item and ignore the message I left so I contacted Mercari and I received a prompt reply saying they had to look into it and they would contact me again and the very next morning I got a conformation email from Mercari and PayPal stating that I had a refund. I love this app and it is like with anything watch who you buy from READ the descriptions and use good judgement and you will be pleased. I am posting a few things myself this week. Also I did a little research on this app it is a Japanese "yard sale" app for Americans. Right now the "no commission fees" is right but in the future when this takes off a little further they will do as all the other buy/sell sites. So happy buying and selling to everyone!

Some people might not realize that with these buy and sell apps, there will be some problems! This app is pretty great for me so far! I am an avid Poshmark user, but when I saw that this app did not have a commission fee I had to trie it! That is a great perk! I also really love how much stuff you can put on it! I am clearing out so many things that should not be thrown away! Another thing, many people complain about the "reviews", well, I think that is a great perk! It's nice to see whether someone is a good seller/buyer! And I think it pushes people not to sell junk so they get good reviews! This app is also quite easy to use! The non sharing thing might have it's down side, but it puts everyone on a level ground for selling! Over all I really enjoy this app and hope it sticks to it's original perks!

I adore this app. At first I didn't think selling my things off here would work, but it has! I've been using it for a month and a half and I've made about $380ish. I've bought things off here too and I haven't had a problem so far. I've tried using many different apps to sell my things and this one is the one that's worked. There are no fees(which is my favorite part), and things sell quickly. There are a few downfalls like, you can't list items that are not authentic or underwear that don't have tags on them, or list bundles, they will inactivate the listing(but you can easily activate it yourself once you fix the problem!) also, you have to wait until the buyer receives the item(and rates you) in order to get $$, then you have to make a direct deposit into your account and wait a few more days.

I moved over to Mercari because on Poshmark they took a small percentage of your sales and I felt like I wasn't making any type of money. When I placed my first item for sale on Mercari I noticed they didn't take commission (YAY FOR ME!) and so I stuck with this app. So far I've sold two items in the 3 days I've been on this app. If you want an honest & trustworthy seller, buy from me! I usually ship within 2-3 days because I have 3 kids who keep me busy and I do my best to stay on top of my closet and stay in contact with my buyers. I do bundles for a reasonable price depending what you buy. If you want a good experience, shop my closet!!! I promise you won't regret it and if you do, I promise to give you a refund back (meaning not accepting your money)!!!

I was really surprised when I read all the bad reviews because I have had nothing but success (so far) with this app. I don't sell professionally, I'm just trying to clean out my closet and make a few dollars. For this purpose, it's great. I can sell (and buy) things for cheap, especially kids clothes and shoes which they out grow quickly. In order to ensure the item is received, you don't get paid until the buyer gets the item and marks it as "received," then gives you a review. At that point, you also rate the buyer. I don't deal in High end goods, I'm a Costco/Target/Old Navy mom, so I haven't found any fraud items (because let's be honest, it's cheaper to buy stuff there than to buy counterfeit). I hope they keep it free so I can continue to use it like a mailing Craigslist.

I LOVE MERCARI!! This app has been so useful for me selling things and getting money for them very quick and easy. I have had issues but they have been quickly resolved by the Mercari support team. You literally send them a message and they fix what the problem is. The users I come in contact with are friendly and open to fair offers. Buy an item sell an item receive it ship it and get paid!

The only problem I have is that the likes and comments should be located separately. It's impossible to go through the likes and when someone wants to bundle all the items they have liked, you aren't able to tell. Other than that there are no problems with this app. It explains itself and keeps your notified via alerts and emails. I love it and wish I had joined sooner. Thank you Mercari.

I have been using Mercari for about a month. I have made three purchases. The first I had a problem with because the seller wanted to sell her item to someone else and I had purchased it.. Mercari gave me a refund within the week. The second and third went easy! The site is easy to use, clear with instructions for buyers. You also have the option to pay via paypal which keeps it safer! As for sellers, you can list items extremely easy, pick shipping days, and price it whatever you feel it is worth! They provide you with shipping labels once the item sells. This makes it much easier to ship your things and hassle free! Happy I found this site for quality items and much lower prices and selling gives me a chance to recoup my money and save!! I just downloaded yesterday after reading someone's review about Poshmark and she mentioned she had better luck with this app. Well I put my first item on and it sold by the end of the day. They make shipping a breeze. My customer hasn't gotten her item yet so I can't review the payment or anything yet but so far it seems like the people on this app are really ready to buy and don't waste time. I also LOVE that they don't play "middle man" and charge a fee. This app just made my day, my week, and my life so much better. Couldn't be any happier especially after trying to go to a "buyback" store like Platos or Buffalo Exchange and they offered me pennies compared to what I sold one item for. Seriously, you won't regret this app. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was very reluctant and worried about using a such an app to purchase anything!! I bought a pair of decorapumps - Louboutin. I read online that some people get scammed or sell "inspired" knock offs so I watched the tracking like a hound and checked my order down to the T. They are completely authentic. Dust bag, box, order number, and old receipt copy. Don't be afraid to buy something without a written description, read their reviews and zoom in on the photos. Also you can earn $2 or $3 credits by signing up or inviting friends which sometimes pays for shipping.

Tip: Only buy if you're certain and the item is exact!! You cannot return anything, just resell even if the item is not what you expected and does not fit. Overall a great app! Will use again!!

This app is great for earning extra money for items that you may not be using anymore! I have had nothing but great experiences with buyers and sellers for all the items I have sold or bought. I have earned a lot of extra spending money and gotten some really great deals! I would recommend it to anyone.

I think the people that are complaining just haven’t properly educated themselves on the terms of service. It’s important that you ask your sellers questions before you purchase anything. Because you’re buying from another user and not Mercari themselves, you might get a different experience with each purchase you make.

Sure there are scammers, but when you’re spending your hard earned money, you should mindful of who you are purchasing from.

I have bought two diaper bags from this app for my sister and I and got exactly what I paid for. I have become obsessed with this app... Always checking for new listings. Lol! I haven't sold anything (yet), but plan on it soon. I like how they let you know when your item has been shipped, in transit and delivered. Just like with buying anything online from other people, buyer beware. Make sure to read the full description, look at pictures and see when the last time the seller was on selling something. If you ask a question and they don't respond in a few days, I would move on. And also, check their ratings. I haven't had to deal with customer service yet, so I am giving 5⭐️, because so far, I am happy with it!

Been on it for a few months now, everything has been going great, selling great, had a few issues that got resolved quickly within 24 hours. So far so good. Guys are doing a great job. I've been selling on eBay and Etsy for many years and I'm starting to like this better. Only recommendations I will give is the ability to follow sellers and get notified when they post something new. Ability to sell more of the same item in one posting or easily repost an item with out starting over. And last but not least, I've seen a few scammers on there and I've tried to report them as much as I can, especially with electronics like iPhones. I would dedicate a team to hunt these guys down. Just a few suggestions. But great job. So far so good. :)

Love this App! As a seller, the ease of use is great and it takes minimal time to upload your deal! They have done a great job consistently improving the UI since I started using a year ago and I look forward to what else they roll out! I would love if there was a way to list products with quantity so if someone buys something you have 2 of, it is still available and you do not need to create another (can't have it all and given the fact it's so easy to make another not big deal) and my 2nd would be, too much back and forth of negotiation on comments from sellers low balling.. I wish buyers could send offers and we had ability to accept, etc. Given all the enhancements throughout the year, I am confident it will only get better! Big Fan!

Even if there's no customer service, you can always email to cancel your orders and or the buyers orders as long as you both agree and mercari will cancel. I've been using it for so long and luv the idea of no fees at all, except if you transfer your money to a card or bank. But we don't need to we keep the money there for anything we need to buy. I've never had trouble with mercari and all you really have to do is follow their rule and you will never get in trouble or they don't just close your account, they warn you before closing it and people do not know how to follow rules that's why they have troubles. Keep in mind to always check your messages and follow their warnings and you will stay with them for a long time.

I love this app. I have been a buyer and a seller, and both experiences were equally great. I kind of just get annoyed with some of the sellers who sell their stuff like it's brand new. This is like a virtual garage sale or mobile eBay, yet I recently saw a person try to sell 2 HP books used for $40 plus $9 S&H. But that's just some people- you can also find great deals.
The app makes buying and selling super easy.
My one complaint (and it's not even that big of a deal) is being unable to take things off my like list (which is kind of the watch list) without clicking into the page. There is an item that sold that I obviously can't watch for anymore, but I can't get rid of it from my watch list.
Still, 5 stars!

Not sure why lots of people leave bad reviews. I have used several shopping apps including Poshmark, Etsy, Aliexpress, and Mercari. Mercari is by far the easiest and best to use. They make navigation super easy, and buying products a piece of cake. Mercari is also the only app I've used where you keep 100% of the profit. And when you sell your product, they email you the shipping label and then you just drop it off at the post office, easy as that! I love love love Mercari! I have made lots of money and scored so many sweet makeup and fashion deals with this app. My only complaint is that it crashes about once a day (but I am also on it all the time). But that's it! Total fan, and totally addicted!
