This is one of the first apps I chose years ago, but very few of those apps remain!! Not only do I enjoy the convenience of this app, but also the features such as Word of the Day and the informative slideshows. Having spellcheck doesn't mean grammar check!! One gripe would be from my husband; while watching TV or movies, I'll hit pause and look up a new or unfamiliar word!! Fun for me!! Thanks for this app!!!

Does "invaluable" mean that this app has no value, or is it priceless? Get the app and look it up. I'm constantly grabbing this app and checking on a word or even more "invaluable" to me is grabbing the thesaurus to help me find the exact word I need. I've had it for years and never regretted getting it for one second. I absolutely love the *Word of the day* notification; especially when it is obscure.

Back before high-speed internet, I used to have a dictionary sitting in the middle of my coffee table. I'm a logophile to the core. Now I have this wonderful and amazing app. It's easy and fun, with games and quizzes and fun facts about words. More fun than just a dictionary.

This is definitely my workhorse.

If you love words, or even just need a reference for when you write, this is the app to get!

I use the app with all options since I am an avid reader, and if if I don't understand a word, I can't get the full benefit of what I'm trying to understand!!!
Wish I had such a great resource when involved in my high school and college days instead of having to find a book dictionary! Great app!!!!
The options thesaurus, encyclopedia, etc. are a great help for "deeper learning". And so convenient!

My dictionary is vary important to me i am a 6th grader. I got the new update, I had the original and I click on the update on my original dictionary and it gave me a different app and I wish you could have it as 1 app because I can't delete it because I paid my money for it and I don't want to delete my old one because I have things saved on it. I love my dictionary but I do not love this at all!

Adding the thesaurus to the audio pronunciation (both for voice to text, for words where you have no clue of the spelling, as well as text to voice for the unfamiliar word) rounded out the app nicely. The dictionary is a very good standard dictionary with a good range, including basic sciences and philosophies to reasonably widely used slang terms. Handy to have in a mobile setting, and a great value!

This is a great app. It's my go to app when my brain decides it won't help with poor spelling.
Get this app and learn to spell so your texts, tweets or whatever don't make you look any worse than what you've just written on social media, like I am doing right now.
Really, get this app, it's so easy to use and it'll let you know if the word you are typing in search is remotely close to an actual word.

I love this app and use it constantly. The pronunciation function is particularly useful because of all the foreign words it includes. (I often find words here that are not in my Larousse French dictionary.) The app was an enormously helpful resource for grad school as I could quickly access information while reading or check out suggestions for synonyms while writing papers. Highly recommend!

Dictionary has become my most-essential app. This upgrade version is the best yet. I am a word-hound and the ease of searching between the dictionary and thesaurus modes is outstanding. While I am a bibliophile, this app is my portable verifier of spelling and definitions, with the most scientific terminologies and jargons included. I'm very grateful to the authors of this wonderful app.

I love the word of the day. I am a writer and it is far better than the one embedded in my computer. It's easier for me to go to my phone as I'm writing rather than go to tools and then dictionary. I've found myself using the word of the day in conversation and have passed this app on to peers and students as well. Great app and one of the most used and useful items on my phone. Kudos.

This is my favorite electronic dictionary. I reviewed a few others a couple of years ago. But the options at the time did not compare to this app. I have not researched another app since because of the satisfaction with this app. I like the definitions and The Word of the day. My seven year old use it as well. It has help to increase her vocabulary, which surpasses any seven year old.

Such an amazing update! This new update makes searching new words not only fun, but also seamless. It is such a beautiful and perfect app, and I am so glad that this team has responded to our feedback and requests. Thank y'all so much! The only other feedback that I ask is to make the top bar visible again - I have to swipe down just to see the time. Other than that, PURE PERFECTION.

I read a comment and the author wrote "that most of the readers didn't know what is was like to carry around a heavy 'book' dictionary". Well my first turn through college was 1980, and I remember quite well. I'm in graduate school now and this iPhone 6 Plus although not the smallest of iPhones fits in my back pocket just fine. All I have to do is go into the app and I'm all set.

I use this awesome app all the time. The combination dictionary and thesaurus are a snap to use and the ability to hear the correct pronunciation is a great additional feature. This app has a permanent spot on my home screen. The fact that it's self-contained and so works offline is even better.

The only thing easier than using this app is giving it the 5 stars it deserves!

One the most used features I would use, if it were available, is a back button to get back to my original misspelled entry and the list of possible alternatives that I can try. Once I select an alternative spelling from the list I better be right the first time because there is no getting back to try again on another word from the list. Otherwise thanks for a wonderful app!

Yes, I am a nerd and I love this app. I use it daily to build and diversify my vocabulary. Not only does it define a word, it also explains the etymology of the desired word in addition to having the expedient feature to look up synonyms.

I use this app so frequently, it is on my homepage, in plain view, where I don't have to search through the boxes to find and use it.

For somebody who writes quite a bit, this is extremely helpful in helping me in a number of ways. If I am not sure about the spelling of word, it's synonyms, if it can rhyme- it's great. Even better is the fact that I can use this app offline. Ideas should not be limited by simple word choice and whether or not you have internet access right then and this app delivers.

I am rating this application five stars because this dictionary application is second to none. From my perspective it ranks among the best ever engineered. This app has been invaluable to me for many years and the designers have a vision of continuous
improvement for this application. Personally, I am recommending this app to lay persons as well as true professional.
