First off I'm surprised at all the negative feedback... Not cause some people don't like the app but why they don't like it. First off mobile check deposit has been around on the app since April 2012 so those of u who r writing a review in 2014 about how there is no mobile deposit check again. Bill pay with nick names have been around since also may 2012... They came with the same update as mobile deposits. Another thing is the quality of the check deposits... That's based off YOUR phone.... So if u dropped it or your cameras scratched... Yes it will affect the picture and what the bank can see because your phone is messed up. Also if u r a shakey hand camera picture user it'll be unclear as well. The location feature... It does pull up maps so u can find the closest branch or ATM.., that's always been there since the app rolled out. Alerts are based off YOUR wireless carrier as well as when the merchant processes your transaction and the app like the website does log u off automatic if u have been idle for a while.
The app is great... U got bill pay, mobile deposits, transfers between u or other people, open Accts online, Merrill lynch viewing, bankamerideals.,, only thing it doesn't offer is cash out or coin deposits. ;-) chase doesn't even offer special cash back deals on their app. Or bill pay. So quit your whinning.

A few days ago I noticed that my BoA CC account was not listed under "accounts". However, it has returned which means that I can now pay my bill through this App. The only wish that I have would be for me to see my CC transactions instead of just the total balance due.

A very good mobil banking app for BOA customers BUT.... I've had this app for some time now and was always able to see my BOA credit card account and make payments to it via the account transfer feature. I signed on this morning only to discover that my Credit Card account is no longer listed, meaning that I can no longer make on-the-road, last minute payments. By always seeing the account balance and due date, it served as a reminder about paying that bill, not being late on it and therefore BOA not making additional fees for last charges or Interest. I think that BOA realized that they were losing money in extra fees by listing their customer's credit card account and offering payment options for it. I've never missed a payment before getting this app but will now have to sign into my accounts on a computer to make CC payments. It will be an inconvience but I will do it just to make a point.

It seems many people have had a bad experience with this app, but it has worked well for me so far. I do most of my banking at a computer online, but wanted an ability to electronically send people money on the go (i.e., for my share of a restaurant bill, etc). This app does just that, and it is relatively easy. I have tried it on several people I know with success. I look forward to trying to deposit a check via photo; this also seems like a nice feature. Additionally, I was able to pay one of my eBills via this app with ease. Navigating the app is also relatively easy and intuitive. The ability to look at my account statuses is less important because I keep track of them with other check balancing software/checkbooks, and for more serious banking/account reconciling work I will use the online computer version. Additionally, some of the other features (Amerideals, etc) I don't use so I cannot comment on. However, it does exactly what I wanted it to do with relative ease and without hiccups, so I give it 5 stars.

Personally I've never had issues with the app- however, I do ONLY use it for depositing checks, so this review cannot say the same as checking out your account or changing its settings, etc. It has taken me maybe 30 seconds tops to deposit checks through this app. The camera does a fairly good job of detecting the check and reading it! Maybe only once in a blue moon does it ask me to retake a photo which is no hassle.

Not to dismiss any negative reviews, but I wonder if these users did not open the camera above the check initially and instead opened the camera but were pointing it randomly in the room, so it photographs everything else before reaching the check? Holding the phone over the check in decent lighting has generally been successful, and if it can't automatically photograph the check, close out of the camera and re-open to help the issue.

Maybe I'm just lucky with it! I hope others have had similar success with this app because it really works well when you can't be hassled with a visit to the bank.

Not whining, but have the following comments:
1. Fix the camera function. It took 40 shots of my check before it was accepted. Preview was clear enough to easily read but photos came out blurry every time even when I rested the phone on a tripod. Did not have this problem before.
2. The alert icon does not go away when you read them. You now have to log out and log back in again to clear the icon. Didn't have to do this previously.
3. Change the default on log in to not remember the device or give us a way to reset it. Took me only 3 sign-ins to go too quickly and forget to uncheck the box, now I don't have to answer a challenge question when logging in. Hate this, as this is, after all, on a phone--easy to lose, forget, or leave on your desk at work. Please give us the option to forget the device or at least let us change it from a PC--I don't want to have to delete and re download the app to get the continual choice back (pain for that too!) and who knows if that will even fix it.

Bank of America, I appreciate the approach you've taken in regards to your app. Everything I want and nothing I don't.

Other banks don't understand what the consumer wants. The consumer wants something that's simple, will be responsive, and an app that they can rely on. This is app is exactly what a banking app should be. It's clean. No frills. I don't care about fancy graphics or photos glaring in the background. When I come to see my bank account; I come to see what's going on. Not a picture of a park. (I'm speaking about you Chase.)

Mobile check deposit, and bill pay work flawlessly. In fact just about everything about this app works flawlessly. It's solid. It's something I can count on. I've worked with many banking apps and this by far has been the best one yet.

Again, thank you Bank of America for creating the best banking app that has ever been created!

I been a loyal BOA customer since I was 16 so about 11 years now. The app is awesome!! No more waiting for customer service. Within the app you select exactly what your concern is and instead of being transfer from rep to rep the app transfers you directly to where you need to be. If need to make payments I can set everything up thru the phone, set up alerts and pay my bills thru bill pay. If I need a balance transfer from my a BOA credit card the simple click of a transfer button and all set. If I need to activate my debit card with a simple swipe the card is activate ( No more calling to activate!!). If I lost my debit card I can block it just in case to avoid fraud and if I find it I unblock it! I mean as you can see I love this app

I am a former Citizens Bank customer. Their app was severely limited compared to this one. I love how you can set alerts with this app. No alerts at all in the Citizens app. In fact, the only thing in their settings is the Fast Money option, which is not the most secure thing. I love this app overall. The one flaw I see is that you can only make transfers to other BofA customers within the app. To make direct transfers outside the bank, you need to go on a computer. Please add a feature to make transfers to outside bank accounts in the future. Also, please update this app for iOS 8/iPhone 6 customers, so we won't have that "zoomed in" look. Thanks! Some of these people don't know how good they have it.

Update: the new auto check photo take is just what we needed. The hardest part of doing the check deposit was holding still while pressing the button. Great work keep the features coming!!

This app works good and has most of the features I use. Touch ID would be a nice addition . But overall I like this app and I like this bank and customer service. I'm a happy bofa Customer. To any who worry about mobile check deposit I use it almost 4 times a week and it works flawlessly. This app should have a much better rating but silly people post there personal complains. When in reality Bank of America is the best bank I'v ever had.

This app can quickly show up to the minute balances and review transactions. You can choose to instantly sign in with just a touch of your fingerprint reader, and then transfer your cash between accounts, pay bills, and even deposit checks anywhere in seconds using your device's camera!

I rely on it daily, can't live without it. At a cashier and your debit card is declined bc of insufficient funds? No problem! Use this app to transfer funds from your checkin account, and then seconds later you can swipe your card again and the transaction go through!

Very easy to use and understand.

I called the number on the back of my card and was on hold with Bank of America for almost 15 minutes. The automated system suggest while holding that you call using the Bank of America app. Since I was holding I decided to pick up my cell phone and call through the app and was able to get right through with no holding!

I love that I can cash checks right from my phone. I love that the app notifies me if more than $100 is charged to my card and whenever a deposit is made. I also love the fact that you can check your balance anytime or transfer money.

I've had no issues thus far with this app.

I'm a first time Bank of America customer for the last six months and I have used this app to deposit, make transfers, pay bills, check my balance. It works fast, never gives me any issues, and the menus and buttons are all just like the online interface so I know how and where everything is.

People are complaining about features and updates but I imagine those reviews are written from a single bad experience. I haven't had any issues with the app, in fact it's one of the best, cleanest bank applications I've used (have you seen td banks? It's a vintage nightmare)

It's such an easy App to navigate; especially the login which you can choose to utilize your Touch ID fingerprint reader to open. I do most all of my banking with this App. I can pull up my Account Activity in five seconds and see my balance and entire history. I can freeze/unfreeze my card if I happen to misplace it and find it in my pant pocket later, I can do transfers, open another account, apply for loans, etc., about 99% of my banking I do from my cell phone on this App; so basically I can do my banking anywhere and with ease. It's very user- friendly! Love it!! 5 stars!

I've been making good use of check deposits from home, bill payments, & transfers for some time. Today I discovered that you can reach a person to deal with a specific problem from within the app. Select the category & tap to call. Call gets picked up right away. No hold. No entering acct number and having to repeat it later. Just give your name, so they can see it's the one on the account, which they know from the app. Got automatic payment stopped with minimum effort. Minor problem is that touch-id sometimes isn't really allowed even when turned on.

I don't know where all the negative reviews are coming from, simply people who love to complain about the smallest things in life to give their lives meaning. The app works amazing, I've never had a crash or any other issue with it. It displays all information immediately, shows you your account number and routing number for easy access, and even allows you to rename your transactions for any reason. One thing I wish it would come out with is Touch ID. My local bank app has this ability, I would expect my national bank to have this as well.

I don't know what people who wrote poor reviews are talking about!
The new update is amazing.
I used to spend several minutes searching for routing number or customer service. Now, its right there at the bottom of the account page. This update is much more user friendly... Bottom menu is a great addition. I can now see when my scheduled transfers (between accounts) will be made and scheduled bills, in one page.
I'm still able to sign in with touchID, still able to setup alerts, still able to do all the things I did before.
Love it!

I don't know what all the bad reviews are about, seriously. I've seen nothing but improvements in this app since I started using it two years ago. I pretty much do all my banking with this app. Transfers, deposits, checking balances, etc. I can even see the pictures of deposited checks and I can customize the notifications I want to get. I've done banking with other financial institutions and have used their apps as well. Trust me, this is one of the best banking apps I've used and I've used a lot.

Love this app, super easy to use and very convenient. It would be great if you could add a note when transferring within your own accounts.

Once I get my check I start transferring money between my credit card and savings and when I check later I see the amount but by then I've forgotten why I transferred it. It doesn't matter much because the money is still in my accounts. However it would make it more pleasant if we could add a note as an option to help better keep track of our finances.

Nice work consistently squishing bugs as well as bringing new creatures with the updates! Runs fairly quick. A couple of feature requests, please: 1) A monthly "spendings" tool (pie chart, etc) as well as a budgeting tool (monthly allocations and see one's progress, etc. think "Dave Ramsey's Every Dollar") and 2) the ability to mobile deposit cash. For example, scan a Benjamin using my smartphone's camera and deposit that into my account so I don't have to drive to the ATM =]

Wow people are soooo demanding...it's an App it's meant to do the basics...if it could do everything the desktop could do then it would run extremely slow and it would be too cluttered. This app is GREAT! & if you need to really see extra things aside from what the app shows you can EASILY open your web browser on your phone and log into BofA's website. Stop complaining about every little thing. Oh and Touch ID works absolutely fine for me...User error by chance? I think so.
