Well, of course, this is what you get when you release an awesome addition to a long-running DS game series to the IOS App Store: you get a wave of drooling, casual morons who don't understand that Phoenix Wright games are visual novels and that you actually need half your brain to play them. And they give the game low scores because they're too stupid and impatient to know that, or appreciate the game for what it is. Then they treat it like it's freemium for charging for each chapter when Phoenix Wright games are normally DS games that go for about $30 in stores. Unbelievable, this level of ignorance. Go back to your Angry Birds, you ADD-suffering, brainless losers.

But for people who actually know and love Phoenix Wright, this game is a gem. It was so much fun playing the first chapter on my phone. The graphics and anime cutscenes are lovely. The controls are little clunky on this little screen, so I think I'll end up buying the full game on the 3DS store instead. Still, this app is great for people who don't have a 3DS. Definitely a great buy, don't let the illiterate idiots who can't read tell you otherwise!

Being a hardcore Ace Attorney fan for years, I admit I was worried about this game due to the transition from 2D to 3D, as well as the seemingly wonky storyline they were trying to do. After playing it on the 3DS, I was very impressed and like all other Ace Attorney games I was not disappointed. When I heard it was going over to iOS, like the Trilogy and PW:AA before that, I was scared and excited. Nevertheless, I was even more impressed by this version. For those who complain about the length of the build up, that's common place in this series and I believe that the way it does explain things in such detail and length is crucial to this series maintaining it's position as a "visual novel" of sorts, but also to help new players get the just of what has gone on in the past 5 main storyline games. The music is amazing, but that's just another thing that has failed to disappoint me. In conclusion, I applaud CAPCOM with bringing Dual Destinies to iOS. Now I can continue to obsess over these games virtually everywhere. 5/5 with no objections from me!

Before I get into the review, I want to say that at first my sound didn't work, but then I realized I had my ringer off... I just switched it back on and the music and sfx were back to normal. Been seeing a lot of those reviews about the sound, and I think it would be the same for everyone else. Ok, on to the review. If I had enough money, I would get more of the episodes, they're brilliant!! (20 dollars for all episodes, which I guess isn't bad but eh) For years I have been hearing great things about Phoenix wright, just get this and you won't be disappointed. Never a dull moment! I'm totally going to get all the ds games. They're making a Professor Layton vs Phoenix wright game for the 3ds, which I am SOOO stoked for... Aah it's gonna be incredible :) wonderful game all in all, the characters are fun and the art is lovely. I can't get enough of the awesome animation too, and the cutscenes are so cool! Anyway, just get this game and you'll be addicted. I love the saving feature, too, it's so convenient. My new tfavorite game. xoxox

This is the best thing since sliced bread. This has kept me up for so many nights and hours go by without me realizing. It maintains Ace Attorney's excellent story and even brings fresh new mechanics into the game. The multi lawyer system is great and new characters are definitely phenomenal additions to the series. They better appear again! Of course, there are those fools in the review section who blather on about nonsensical remarks about boring gameplay - it's a goddamn visual novel, idiots - and about how they don't even focus on the dialogue because they "want to play the game." Not to mention that I even saw someone who decided that you couldn't get the story if you didn't read the manga or some bull like that. There are also those who insult the game due to its "inaccuracies to an actual trial." What, you think this is Courtroom Simulator 2014? Nevertheless, this is truly a gem worth purchasing all episodes of. Get it!

I think this port is worth buying. There are no inconveniences with the controls, the game itself looks great (I played this on an iPhone 5s, I can only imagine how great it'd look on an iPad) and it's a really good deal, versus the 3ds version. You save $10-15, depending on whether or not you decide to buy the extra episode.
As for the actual game, it was really fun! It's not much different than the other Ace Attorney games overall, though it does add new characters and 3d graphics of course, anime cutscenes, and new gameplay aspects, like reading emotions in order to draw more info out of them.
The cases are interesting as always, and it's really challenging to spot contradictions with the evidence provided, especially towards the end.
All in all though, this game is very well-written, has witty dialogue, and this series in general is probably the most fun you'll have with visual novels! So I highly recommend it overall.

I had played the previous Phoenix wright games on my DS a few years back and I remember really enjoying the game and playing all the games within the span of a month. A few years later and I find that Capcom has released a new Phoenix Wright game and I was ecstatic. This is a big graphics update from the first game for sure. New characters (as well as returning ones), animated and voiced cutscenes, plus the same nostalgic feel from the older games. What more could a Phoenix Wright fan want? If you are a fan of the series of games like me, this is a must have! If you are new to the games, and enjoyed this one I highly recommend you try the older games as well. Word of warning though, this game is very much like a visual novel of sorts and extremely linear. If this doesn't interest you, then it's safe to say this isn't the game for you. However, if you enjoy games like that, then this game is for you!

I loved this game on my 3DS, and I'm happy to see it here available on the App Store where a bigger audience can now get the chance to play this fantastic game. Also, despite being the fifth game in the series, I believe any newcomer will be able to jump in to the series here. Especially considering that the game has, what I believe to be, a somewhat lower difficulty curve than the previous games. I encourage anyone to download this and play through the first case. If you aren't hooked by then, I can help you. The game appeared to run fine on my crummy sadly abused iPad 2 so it should, theoretically, run just as well if not better on anything newer. The DLC case is also a treat and worth the price. The costumes... I got it for the Old-School suit available for Phoenix, because of my nostalgia for the older games. The other two costumes are a bit meh. It's only 99 cents so it's your call.

This game is riveting. I admit I had to get used to the surplus of text and the funky characters, but I am so happy I stayed with it because... it's so good!!! The characters' quirks began to grow on me. The episodes kept getting better. By the time I got to the third one I was amazed at the intricacy of the game and how well thought out every detail is. Plus each episode is not only interesting but surprising and really keeps you on your feet. By the time I reached the finale I was genuinely blown away. I was even moved in certain moments by the characters' plight. What app does that?? A page-turner of a game. I only wish there was more because I'm actually missing how great it was to play. I went back and got the previous ones and am hoping they are equally good. Really well done.

To start, this game requires a lot of reading. If you don't like games involving logic and reasoning, don't buy this game. However, I love the Ace Attorney series as a whole, so this is one of my favorite kinds of games. The series continues with memorable (albeit quirky) characters and exciting cases that are staples of the Ace Attorney franchise. The animation from the 3DS version was transferred with beautiful results, and the voice acting was great as well. The touch interface is very easy to use, especially during the investigation segments. My only complaint so far is a bug where text is missing from the text log, so I have accidentally missed info I need for the trial segment. Overall tho, this game is a great addition to the series and a pleasure to play.

If you're a person that usually prefers to play ACTION GAMES, then this might not be the game for you (yet again, you should always try new things). But if you're one of those people who wants to play a game for its perfect story, then this game would be great for you! At first it may seem all boring with dialogue, but if you just stick to it, then the game will make more sense to you, and make it really fun. They have very cheesy names for the characters, and funny dialogue (so it's not all serious). I've just beat the game, and I just cried my eyes out! It's truly a beautiful game! If you don't believe me, try it out for your selfs! The first episode is free, and if you like it, you can buy the rest! I hope this review has been helpful.
IN JUSTICE WE TRUST!

My mind is currently screaming, "BUY IT! BUY THE WHOLE GAME!" but I'm still hesitant about it. It's not because there are any flaws (besides the fact that you can't speed up text, but that can be easily ignored) and both the art and animation is amazing, it's just that this game is $15. Which I admit is a very reasonable deal. But to purchase other iPhone games, the most I've found is usually around $5. I highly doubt I will regret buying it when I'm playing it, however it is when I'm DONE with it that I'm worried about. A few months later, will I think that the $15 was worth it? For now I will finish the Ace Attorney trilogy app and make a choice then. I'm hoping I will buy it, because it's an extremely tempting and good deal.

This game will blow you away! The graphics, the humor, the thrilling case and suspicious culprits. I've been into mystery and crime solving games for a long time now. The ones I find are always a treat, but this one takes all the treats and runs away with them. It is the coolest game I play on my iPad, just the first case you play is a thrill seeker. In the game you definitely need to have some sharp tuition and Be a stickler for detail, this game makes you feel like the characters them selves. I give it five stars even if it's cost money for the other case episodes its Worth it. I also suggest some Big Fish games like Fareway point and others. We'll have fun new ace attorneys!

I am a very vivid fan of Phoenix Wright. I'm currently playing Trials and Tribulations for the first time, and I just recently got this. And I LOVE it. The 3D animators did a great job at animating Phoenix, Athena, Apollo, and friends. The series is action packed, which left me coming for more. Nothing bad with this game, 10/10, would recommend to anybody. Keep making legit Phoenix Wright games,

I haven't played Phoenix Wright since the first installment of the series. When I saw that the series came to IOS, I was interested. After playing the first trial I was hooked. I purchased all the episodes and have had no regret doing so, besides the fact that I could not put it down. The discoveries you discover as the defense attorney was mind blowing and amazing! The game is not all serious though, but as you converse with people and discover evidence, you sometimes get a good giggle out of the reactions and comments that you read. TLDR version, try the game and enjoy what you play. And save often.

Capcom did an incredible job with this port. It's basically perfect. The switch to 3D means that the game looks pristine on the higher resolution iPad screen. Far better than that other Ace Attorney collection in the app store. No animation bugs, excellent sound, etc.

As for the game, it's a must-play if you're even remotely interested in visual novels. I would suggest you play the earlier games in the series before starting this one, however. Particulaly that Apollo Justice game. You know, the one Capcom still hasn't ported to iOS.

I love this game (I haven't played it just watched vids) and when I started I was exited and couldn't wait. It started up fine and started the first day, that's when it happens. The first time a 3D model came up it crashed and in order to play I need to turn off all apps and even then it crashed when the court doors opened so i didn't get to the "gameplay" of the game (it's in parenthesis because its the main part) so I hope there is a solution. But I'm still happy the games here :)

I love it! I love it!! I LOVE IT!!! The main story is, although fairly short, amazing! People complain that it costs fifteen dollars for the rest of the main story, but if this was a 3DS game it would be 40 to 45 dollars! I have not done the other trial with the whale, but I'm sure it's great! My only complaint is that there are not many trials. I hope the developers at CAPCOM continue to make this game more and more amazing trials and hopefully some of them will be free.

$15 os a hefty price to put on a game on the mobile market but it is completely worth it. I haven't encountered any bugs with it on my iPhone 6. The second episode and beyond goes back to the original roots of the game of having to collect evidence and conversations.

The crimes committed are air tight and it definely makes you cringe if you're ever convicted a crime in real life as they show how easy it is to make someone seem guilty with a nasty prosecuter.

This game was absolutely wonderful. It's a smart, well-written, and fun pick-up-and-play game that challenges you to think on your feet. The price, too, is absolutely wonderful for the large amount of content you get. This may be a visual novel rather than a moving high-tech visual dynamo, but that I think is what contributed to this game's success. They could focus on what's important: fun, biting cases that really do throw you for a loop. Highly recommended.

Like one other on here, my game crashes when I attempt to load saves or load the character costumes. I suspect this has something to do with lost DLC data from upgrading the game.

As for the game itself, it is a fitting addition to the series. Quite a large unexplained jump in the series, however, with only a few returning characters that have major appearances. Hopefully the next game is both longer and has more characters return.
