I joined credit karma about 18 months ago. Fresh into a chapter 13 and horrible credit in the five hundreds. Had no checking account and not 1 credit card, couldn't get either. A year and a half later, I've reached the 7 hundreds and now have 11 accounts ranging from credit cards to gas cards to department store charge cards. Did I mention I finally have a solid checking account at a REAL bank? I used to live paycheck to paycheck and cash my check at Walmart for $6 a pop. If you can't find a CÇ anywhere, try credit soup to get yourself one. Then once you build a rapport, utilize credit karma's offers to build on top. Trust me when I tell you, I had very little knowledge on how credit actually works. You might think you know but I promise you learn a few things. I owe a lot to them but they keep it free. Honestly can't believe how well it's all worked out. Best of luck to you, hopefully you'll be writing a similar review a year from now.
