Why all the bad reviews? Some people clearly aren't following the instructions. There are 2 requirements - 1) you must be a BT Broadband customer. 2) you must be in range of a BT Openzone or BT Fon hotspot. I am using a BT Openzone hotspot to write this review on my iPhone! Granted the app is a bit temperamental and requires some patience. Sometimes it can take a few mins to connect. But it DOES work. It is invaluable to me. I have BT Total broadband at home, but when I'm at my boyfriends house (he doesn't have wifi) I can go online using the BT app and connect to a local hotspot! Then I can get all my online stuff done here as if I was at home! It's great service and value that as a BT customer I can use their service even if I'm not at home. Thanks BT! Anyone reading this, ignore the bad reviews from dumb people who clearly don't know how to use the app. You must be a BT Broadband customer and this app WILL NOT work in all areas, only in range of a hotspot. 8 times out of 10 it works just as promised.

Well had many reservations about opting in to get this application. Told myself, if its crap, I'll just delete it and opt out. What I can tell you is that it does what it says on the tin. Before you use the app to connect, go to your settings and look for any BFon or BT wifi in your available connections. If you find one where you are connect to the strongest one. Next go to your BT wifi application and press connect, then surf!

Your not going to get a constant connection whilst on the move. if thats what your looking for get a cellular/sim tablet or tether with your phone. this type of access is for stationary connection to the web.

From many of the negative comments about this application, it looks like many have tried to run before they could walk. Enjoy...

Most excellent, works really well. Staying with elderly relative who is not on the web or even knows what wifi is. Used BT with Fon got on web dead quick. Not in a city but a small town, speed good enough to watch football on Sky and BBC Alba with no buffering. Also the app connected me to the net in a rural setting surrounded by big hills and trees, got a signal although weak but useable. Saved me using up my meagre data allowance from EE or paying for more, logged into my BT account therefore saving a ruck of money. Well done BT it does what it says on the tin.

So many whine on here but I can see the issues they have are not BT Wifi's technology but more their own device or login. The funniest review is the guy that thought it was free for non-BT customers too and complained about the app when he realised it wasn't.. hilarious. It works for me, could login automatically a bit quicker but you can help that by using installing the connection profile, under 'more', 'settings', 'connection profile'. This enables the device to login more reliably. Great coverage, unbeatable by your competitors.

The best wifi app by far, some poor ratings on here are vast upon people real limited understanding of how this works, they should educate themselves. Great speeds and service even in some Sub rural areas! Signed up and logged in with my details, downloaded the mobile connection stuff and done. Another awesome service from BT, thanks. I Would suggest you put some easy to read instructions out there for those who need them.

Superb app and is now just working in the background without me having to activate each time, cloud and O2 just hard work and just not in enough locations

This is really handy for finding nearby hotspots, but by far the best aspect is the connection profile. It takes the pain out of free wifi.

Works for me but then an old dog like me is always amazed that something like this works!

Works well as a BT customer when I don't have any 3/4g ... Simple and nice lay out

Had login problems in the past but BT seem to be fixing issues at last

The wifi service seems to have deteriorated in the last year.

I've just download Pokemon go and this is great for it!
