We just spent months looking for a home and spent loads of time on zillow and homesdatabase. Zillow has more detail than other sites (like schools, listing history, community info) that we found super useful. We would have used Zillow exclusively except that it tends to take awhile to update and some of the listings we saw were already under contract. The "zestimate" feature is cool and generally useful, although sometimes it seemed way off, especially for newer builds or recently remodeled homes.

Fun to use, simple, reliable, well laid out. We are in the process of downsizing from a big house to a smaller one...but do we rent, do we buy? And where? Zillow let's me check out the financial stats of the various areas I am searching (downtown Providence RI, downtown Boston MA, or someplace more rural like Hopkinton MA) so I can make an informed decision. By the way, based on info gleaned from Zillow, we are planning to rent a townhouse for a few years. An invaluable decision making tool.

Zillow is one of my two favorite apps. I am a Realtor and I can help clients anywhere as a consultant because of Zillow's ease of use. If there is an error in the data, contacting Zillow and providing the correct information is all that needs to be done. Zillow works to make the information accurate. Unfortunately, most people don't make the time to send corrections to Zillow and this is not a fault or criticism of Zillow. New listings and recent sales are spot on. This app is a pleasure to use.

I previously used the other Realtor app , but they screwed up the app soooo bad in June 2016 with an update , that I started using Zillow exclusively. I must say that I am blown away by Zillow. A Zillow agent actually called me and connected me with the Listing agent for a home that I had sent an inquiry for. How cool is that. I love all the filters in Zillow. Also, Could you also add a filter that allows users to sort homes by cost per square foot. Thank you so much. Keep up the great work!

I have moved several times now--many of which were actually cross-country and I have to say, Zillow has made each move astoundingly easy! Weather buying, renting, or just looking for a friend, Zillow has certainly simplified the process and done much of the work for you! Even If you are 3,000 miles away, you can get all the info and/or pictures, facts & figures you need for your new place. Between the iPhone app, the iPad app, and the actual website, I have been absolutely more than satisfied!

I really love this app but I dislike the way the map is refreshed when you are in a vehicle and in motion. I tend to do my searching while already driving through neighborhoods I would like to live in, so I tend to use the map view to find listings close to my relative position. Currently the map page is refreshed as your position gets to an edge of the screen. I would prefer it if there was an option to keep the map centered on my location and the map always refreshed like most map apps do.

I used the Zillow app when I was interested in doing a lease-purchase for a house last year. We weren't sure how long we were going to live in the area, so we didn't want to purchase right off the back. I like the fact that you can look for houses to rent or purchase. Now that we now that we like the area and will be here for a while, we can purchase the home we've fell in love with and occupied for a year now. Thanks to Zillow, it has made this process an enjoyable experience. Great app!

I am a Bankruptcy Trustee, so my work requires making quick decisions about the probable value of countless residential properties owned by people who file bankruptcy. Zillow is so helpful to all of us who work in the bankruptcy system that it is the only online resource that has ever been cited to me, in order to establish or confirm the fair market value of residential real property. A lawyer who cites Zillow immediately gains credibility with me.

I save my search criteria, and forget it. Zillow will do the rest, updating houses (or whatever you designate) that fit the criteria you decide. So if your only looking for houses built after 2005, with 3 bathrooms and 2000 sq ft then the app will notify you as soon that kind of property is listed. It's too easy and saves someone like me a lot of time. You can also contact the property manager directly from the listing. I haven't had any issues with the app. Just update as necessary.

I'm not even moving! (I love my home in the Pacific Northwest!) but I love looking at all the homes all over the US-- especially the expensive ones! Zillow lets my peek behind all the closed doors, high hedges and omnipotent door men to see how other people live --- or at least how they decorate and furnish their homes. I can tour a city, far away, without leaving my own living room. And I can dream of beautiful rooms, gorgeous furnishings, and BIG windows... The best app!

I've used this app for over a year to look for our retirement home in Colorado. I like the Zestimate and history in this app. I can see trends and real estate pricing trends Also like it when changes occur on a saved home or a new home comes on the market We aren't ready to purchase yet as our home is also on Zillow for sale. Saves so much time looking at a home with the photos. I'd love to see more about the areas we are looking at like what type of community it is

On my quest to find a home to love, in my current neigborhood...I couldn't have picked a better jump off point. I need it to be simple to navigate & detailed, but fun to use. I like the pattern in which the individual house profiles are set up, the way i can get high/low or low/high in price. I also like that my basic criteria is stored & i only see homes that meet most or all of my needs. I'm taking my time, but i will keep using this app until i find "the one".

I'm a realtor and I can tell you this app has more functionality and generally more active listings than the listing database I pay hundreds for per year. It even has more useful filters (like acreage) than mls. Zillow is an amazing app and it puts mls to shame! Of course periodically it will show an active listing that has been sold or gone pending but I suspect that's because the mls is not updated. I can't imagine searching for property without Zillow. Thank you.

I think this is THE easiest app to use when looking for homes. I know sometimes the info underneath in the categories may not always be correct or up to date. Just know to double check something if you are serious. After 2 months of house hunting and LIVING on this site, idk WHAT to do with myself now that we FOUND a home! I'm still on here peeking even tho we already wrote a contract!
Plus it's fun to see past pics or see what people paid, etc...

Let me start by saying it took me over 6 months to find my perfect home and I did through Zillow nothing else on the market they have compares to all the information Zillow gives you down to septic taxes year it was built schools I tried others trulia and realtor dot com but nothing gave me the information like Zillow I love it has access to so much always a ton of great pictures and great information

Does almost everything that you want it to: comprehensive housing listings driven by GPS gives an instant snapshot of the neighborhood you are in at the moment or any you care to search for. Things that could improve it are: 1) some sort of requirement that more photos be submitted with the listings (some are simply inadequate); 2) the ability to change to Google street view so that you can get a look at the neighborhood.

Have to applaud the positive changes.

This app has lead me to find and buy my first lot ever for building my very first home. The lot is in a prestigious gated sub division in my city that I did not know was for sale. Because, no other realtor company had it listed on any of there websites! Big thanks to Zillow for helping me navigate my way to this perfect place to build my dream home! I strongly urge anyone who is interested in buying a home, lots, or land to use this app to help them find it!

I've been using Zillow for years. This is an easy way to see real estate options. When I was looking for a new house I used Zillow as a tool. Thanks to Zillow I saw that the house I wanted had been bought just a few months before and now was listed again. That was a concern to me. I asked my realtor to look into it. The reason was nothing serious so I happily purchased my dream home. I also love keeping an eye on real estate values in my neighborhood.

Love Zillow! So easy to go through the houses, especially once you've saved a search with all of your search criteria. Can easily save homes which makes it really easy to bring back up when you actually go out to look at homes.

The only thing I would like to see would be an easier way to see all of the open houses coming up. Sometimes they'll come up in my review email for the weekend, but it's not standardized.

Otherwise, love Zillow in general :)

The information that this tool makes available and the ease of access that it provides made a huge difference in my home buying experience in April of 2014. While much of the focus seems to be on the zestimates, I found the recently sold information to be the most helpful. Being able to see what my future neighbors paid for their homes as well as see houses that were in the foreclosure process was invaluable in making an informed buying decision.
