I studied Hiragana and Katakana last year and I used this app to remind me and it was perfect!!
No sudden moments that asked me to pay before I could continue which is why I downloaded many and found this the most effective for me

I can’t speak as a first time learner but for someone who just needs to brush up a little

Very easy to use. Helpful. Just enough drilling to keep you motivated and alert. Very helpful for katakana which is more of struggle than the nice curvy hiragana. Recommend for beginners and people needing a quick review after lapsing!

Easy to use and clear interface.
But it should allow use to choose whether word meanings are shown or not. Showing meanings help learners memorize words.
