I had the Nintendo DS version of this game and really loved it. The game and the DS version it is based off of are much more challenging than the original versions of FFIV and have also added additional customization options through the Augment system. Fortunately for anyone who wants to enjoy this game and not worry as much about the difficultly, they've implemented a choice of difficulty modes: "Hard" is the DS version's difficulty, to my understanding, while "Normal" tones it down a bit if you aren't up for that.

I remember being 7 years old and saving up nearly $70 from my birthday and Christmas presents just so I could buy this game. I was so young and naive that it took me over 3 years to beat it, because I didn't understand the concept of changing equipment and buying new weapons. However, after many years of playing the game off and on I finally beat it, and because of this experience the game holds a very significant place in my childhood.

For those of you who have played final fantasy iv before, skip down a paragraph. Ok? Now that we have those new to the series, this is quite a game you've come across. The story of this game follows the Dark Knight Cecil on his winding quest to discover what has turned his king from a kind ruler to an evil tyrant trying to collect the crystals to make way to ultimate power. 12 different characters will come (and some will go, permanently) with you on this journey. The story contains life, death, love, loss, redemption, and penance. It's one of the best written plots around and the game will definitely give you 25-30+ hours of play. You can replay the game three times in a "New Game +" mode until you have to start from scratch. With magic, monsters, swords and summoning, voice acting, and customizable characters via the augment system, you will definitely be entertained.

"FINAL FANTASY IV" has finally come to the iPhone/iPad!

The title first debuted in 1991 as the fourth installment in the FINAL FANTASY series. Wildly popular thanks to its unique characters and dramatic storylines, it went on to be ported to many different platforms.

FINAL FANTASY IV was the first title to introduce the Active Time Battle (ATB) system, which has become synonymous with the series. It also saw the introduction of the Augment system, which enabled the transfer of abilities from other characters and gave players an edge in battles.
