I just bought this app a few days ago and love it. Just had a really bad storm come through, Middletown DE, last night and had this AP open the whole time. It gave me updates as close as only 2-3 minutes prior of where this storm is and what was also coming. The best feature has to be The High-Def Graphics, they are astronomical. But what I really like is it also gives the warning boxes for the area and when they were issued, right on the map. Not sure if other Aps do that, but I know one that doesn't. MY RADAR. For the longest time I've been using MY RADAR, the free version, and at 1st was satisfied with it, even keeping it in my iPhone after I purchased this app. But after the storm last night, I am convinced, it DOESN't and CAN NOT Compare to or Compete with this app, even though the My Radar was free. This App is worth every penny of the $ 1.99 I spent ! I also opened this app during the storm last night and My Radar wasn't as up to the minute, doesn't show on map or even give warnings, and the graphics aren't clear and are very pixelated.
Well I've made up my mind. This App wins and My Radar loses for the spot of Weather Radar on my phone !
UPDATE: My Radar now deleted from my phone.

This is a wonderful app for when I'm traveling to conferences by car because it allows me to see what sort of weather I'm driving into. I can divide up my travel intelligently. I just wish the little location arrow was larger as it is sometimes hard to access in its tiny corner. The three day weather overview feature by positionable dot is handy too! Fast! No long typing in city names. Just put the circle where you want and instant weather report. If that Instant location arrow was just a little bigger, I'd say it was perfect! As is, it still gets 5 stars.

It is also handy when storms come through to see how much more exciting weather to expect. I live out in the country and planning trips to town is much easier with this. Great "on the ground" app!

It'd be fun if it would do world weather, but for travel in the contiguous United States, it can't be beat. I haven't used it for Alaska or Hawaii, so I couldn't say if it works as well there. I assume it does, but I can't speak from experience.

The radar in this app is much better than waiting the TV and waiting for weather alerts!! This app shows us weather watches and the VERY important weather warnings way before the television news/radio news and/or weather channel!! This app actually helped us to warn our loved ones of a tornado coming their way well in advance and at least five minutes before the TV meteorologists announced it! Lastly, this app actually showed my husband and I that we were going to drive into a rain wrapped tornado if we kept driving. So, we were able to stop in a safe place and watch the storm pass on the radar in this app before driving on home. Thank you VERY, VERY much for forewarning us and helping our family stay safe!!! We live in Texas, so we must stay informed about Mother Nature's activities daily!

I don't rate apps, but this one is worthy in my opinion. It truly tells you where the bad weather is and lots of very detailed information about each storm cell that really gives you an idea what to expect. All the other weather apps out there seem to exaggerate the radar, you will think you are in the middle of a bad system, but when you look at the same conditions in this app, it always tells a different story. When the radar indicates bad weather over you, you can expect it to really be there. Storms always look smaller and less severe in this app, because they are overstated in other weather apps. So if you want to know when it's going to rain, look for green in this app and it will hit you when it says it will. The additional weather detail for weather nerds is pretty cool too.

I have several weather apps and this is the best and most user-friendly weather app! It EASILY enables one to add many locations and cities of weather interest and those locations can be personalized with custom icons. It has detailed information on fires, floods, etc. The graphics, vibrant colors, and color choices of the forecast screen also make it a beautiful app. I purchased another NOAA Hi-Def app for $2.99, I regretted the purchase immediately and removed it from my iPad. It is not user friendly nor is it as sophisticated as this app. My hope is that down the road the developers will not change a thing, sometimes it's best to leave things alone when perfection has already been attained!

So far I'm completely in love with this app. We have some farm land out of state, where the severe droughts are occurring, and I've bookmarked each section of land so I can see exactly which pieces of land get rain (since the city itself getting rain, or one piece of land, doesn't mean another piece a mile away got rain). My dad will LOVE this when I set it up on his iPad!

One thing I'd love to see (given all these custom-placed bookmarks) is the ability to back bookmarks up, either to iCloud, an email export (that could be imported on another iDevice), or via registration. I don't mind placing them all again on my dad's iPad, but loathe the thought of doing it again if I reset my phone or upgrade!

Bt far the best radar app I own. I'm somewhat of a weather nut and own numerous weather apps. This particular weather app is my favorite. After reading the other reviews, I thought I would just give this one also a try. I'm glad I purchased it! I like getting imput from other people before buying apps and the other reviewers hit this one on the head. Great app! Thanks to all the people who share their experience with apps they purchase. Their reviews sure are an invaluable source of information for the consumers. Hopefully more people will write reviews on apps they purchase so everyone can make an informed purchase before they buy a particular app or for that matter a product.

This has been my "go to" radar app for a couple of years, and remains the one I depend on to check storms in several locations across the country. Have tried numerous apps but this is the one I always come back to, because it reliably shows storm location, speed, severity, warnings, etc,, and the link to the current NWS forecasters discussion. I don't use this for detailed forecasts; that's not what it's for. I do use the good bookmarking favorite locations tools and that works great. I still wish the app could show live frontal boundaries. It also may need an update, it's crashing occasionally but I'm always able to reload it. Please keep this app going, developers,

Simple, accurate, easy to read, and some really great graphics. Something many of these weather app's don't have.
The last thing a person needs when standing out on a damp windy ramp at an airport and trying to get the latest update on the weather is the source of information he's using comes across full of "fluff" and a lot of superfluous information.
It might not have everything you need for a complete weather briefing, or take the place of talking directly with a briefer, but with very little practice you can get a strong feel as to what your route of flight will encounter concerning the weather.
I recommend this app very highly.

I bought this App about a year ago it has been the best one out there for me,I pull Travel Trailers all over the country , It has been very accurate ,if you watch it you can see the green and the yellow and the red ,the green and the yellow not to bad driving in but when you start getting into the red you better watch out it blinding rain and you better get of the road as soon as you can,I have watched my route if I see it comming I try to get ahead of it or take a break to let it go by,anyone that travels needs this App you will never never be sorry that you have it ,sure wish I would have found it a long time ago. This app. combines accurate location capability with current weather images and allows the user to adjust relevant aspects of the images. Resolution is on par with the best satellite stuff available and I've always felt secure with NOAA's radar as I can see what's going on from my front porch and compare it to the radar in real time. If the current weather is important to you, this is a must have app. It is the best app. I've run across as it combines ease of use with reliable data. For the price, you owe it to yourself to give it a fair trial, I'm sure you won't be disappointed...if you like weather stuff.

I was happy to discover this app a few months ago, as I have always loved NOAA. I live in an area that is threatened by tornadoes a couple times every spring and this app kept me from running to the closet when the local guys got all worked up about storms, which I have discovered is more often than the weather seems to really warrant.
This app is reliable, accurate, and has a pretty decent ability to pinpoint exact locations. The expandable info boxes (eg, storm, NE 6mph) are invaluable as are the directional arrows associated with each storm system. Definitely in my top 5 "go-to" apps.

Awesome App. Used it along with phone GPS tracking to help my son navigate around intense snow squalls in western NY during a Lake Effect blizzard earlier this year. I was in Florida with the App on my iPad, his location on my cel phone and me acting like an air traffic controller on my home phone. It was so accurate I was able to tell him when the snow would get intense and when it would lighten up. He was able to get from Erie, Pa to Syracuse, NY and avoid the worst of it by picking the routes that were outside the developing weather. I use it all the time now.

The app is easy to use and understand and give me updated information about the weather when it's happening. Better than any weatherman could ever be. It shows when lightning strikes and the gives you a general direction of the storm. I'm a lifeguard and I use this app all the time to see when a storm will hit and if there is intense lightning. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who need to know what the weather actually looks like. It's worth the money to purchase the app if you need to know the weather around your area or even on the move!

This radar is excellent for many reasons. Not only is it accurate & easy to track but it is uncluttered too. No unnecessary items-just pure radar which you can customize to a preferred setting. I like how you can go almost anywhere in the globe tracking radar. One point that needs improvement, though. You do not have absolute coverage for the entire globe. There seems to be some "holes" which I hope are fixed soon since I travel to such places. The holes I have found seem to be mostly in the tropics. Other than that, this is one of my favorite apps.

I had just installed this app a couple of days before making a trip down Colorado’s front range. Damaging hailstorms were moving across the entire state. This app allowed me to see the heaviest storms in real time, stop before driving into a major deluge of hail, start again after it passed, and play this hopscotch game for over 100 miles while avoiding potential damage to my car. The most accurate, useful weather app I’ve tried, and I’ve tried many. The only one I’ve seen that actually provides instant, reliable data. Highly recommended.

Had a very hard rain at my home yesterday and clouds looked pretty bad; pulled this app up on my IPad mini and saw we were in for a cell that looked pretty bad. Thank goodness just a lot of rain (Florida); then I heard about Oklahoma; pulled this up again and without losing my local stuff, was amazed that I could just move the app to Oklahoma and see that weather; especially near Dallas where my daughter lives; I recommend this app highly; very easy to use; Hearts and Prayers go out to all those in Moore and surrounding areas.

This app has completely changed our lives. We have decided when the best time was to arrive and leave Disney World. Once I saw the rain coming and we exited the park, only to drive off, right as the rain began. I feel sorry for the victims left in the park who didn't have this app!!!

As well, we've planned entire day trips around when it was going to storm. I've become my own meteorologist with precision!!!

Nothing is attended away from my house without checking this app first.

Beautiful current and historical radar display. Alas, the VFR chart overlay ($10. additional!) is a low-res raster display;so low that no details are readable when zooming in. VFR charts are available as vector displays; if the app had these, which would actually be usable, 5 stars for sure!

The resolution of the VFR aviation chart is OK; just allow enough time for full download. 5 stars after all!

Disgusted with The Weather Channel, and how cluttered and frustrating it was to use, I found the high definition radar app. I found this app very easy to use, no clutter, no ads, & everything I need to see without searching for minutes. Much easier to use than the Weather Channel app, and more informative. The weather Channel probably gets their information from NOAA in the first place.
