Can you please follow the below instructions to get ITV1 onto your iPad:



1. Open your iPad settings

2. Select 'Location Services' on the left 3. Make sure it is switched to 'ON'

4. Please also switch to 'ON' the ITV Player app that appears on the right inside 'Location Services'

5. Go back to your home page and open the ITV Player app

6. In portrait mode, scroll all the way down to the bottom

7. Select 'Settings' on the bottom right-hand corner

8. Select 'clear' but do not enter your email address

9. Press the iPad button to go back to your iPad home page

10. Whilst in your home page, double-click (really fast) the iPad button so that currently opened apps will appear along the bottom

11. Take one of your fingers and place it on any one of the applications that have just appeared at the bottom. Leave your finger there until they all begin to shake and a red circle appears on the top left corner of each of those apps

12. Select the red circle on the ITV Player app image so that the app disappears from the bottom

13. Press the iPad button so that you return to your home page

14. Open the ITV Player app as normal

15. If it asks for your email address, you do not need to enter this. Just press 'Continue'

16. ITV1 should now appear.

Works just fine for me on an iPad 1. I'm amazed by the number of bad reviews though, I would suggest anyone having problems first reads the App Support page, carefully. There are many complaints of connection issues. As this is a streaming service a good broadband connection and speed is vital. Mine is not great but maintains 3Meg at peak times, and the app runs fine for me at that speed. I mention this as several people I know have very poor speeds and connection problems. (Usually on the cheaper deals). Also note that a good wireless connection is NOT the same as good broadband speed, so download a speedtest app to check. There are some comments about picture quality, I've found the app appears to take a little while to stabilise in picture quality, as if it is trying to adjust to give you the best quality it can. Easy, just let it do this on the adverts!

What is going on ?
I used to enjoy using this app, but as previous reviewers have said....this is a farce and absolute junk. Very surprising in these times and even more impudent to think that we would be prepared to put up with it. I have deleted this app and am very disappointed. It used to be fine and I would even accept that there would be a few adverts...but now the whole thing is just torture. When will this all be rectified ? Horrible.

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. There are adverts before you begin watching a programme, but they don't last long at all.

The programme I wanted played perfectly through my standard broadband connection. You can pay for no ads, but I don't see the point as they aren't a significant problem.

I will be very happy to use again in the very near future :)

I was seriously put off by all the negative reviews but had missed an episode of Downton and was desperate. I am happy to say all was fine - no more adverts than when watching "live" and I was able to pause when my mother in law phoned and resume watching with no hiccups. Think you have to try it and see !

This is a great app. It is well laid out into the different stations including live TV and everything is easily findable. It works really well and it's fab to be able to come home and be able to catch up on favourite TV I've missed, not just today but for the last 29 days. Love it!

Its probably true no bugs were harmed in the development of your app but comedy was harmed with the description you guys wrote for
the app.

But In all seriousness the fact you don't have to re watch ads after a crash is glorious. Has improved the user experience immensely.

I don't leave reviews, but after the recent update, this app is fantastic. No problems searching or accessing content and minimal advertising. 1 ad break in a (normally) 60 minute program. Thank you ITV. Great job. Very impressed. Much better than your previous version.

Iv seen a lot of negative reviews here. But in my experience, it's worked completely fine. I'm even currently streaming it from my iPad whilst using my iPhone as a personal hotspot (over 3/4g) and there's no buffering at all and adverts are reasonable.

This app is freaking awesome! You can watch favourite showers anytime and pause and replay the good parts. I must admit that when bbc3 was down I felt I wouldn't be able to catch up my showers. But ITV hub is making me catch even more shows now.

I love ITV hub as you can watch over and over again and catch up, but the only thing I wish they would do, is where you can see all of the episodes and series and that they don't go... But apart from that I love it!!

Downloaded that app just to catch up on Benidorm! Can't fault it did exactly what it was suppose to do! Only small downside... To many adverts between program stopping snd starting other than that spot on

I understand there are a lot of adverts but not half as many as tv, plus there's no fee! It was really good picture and sound quality, and I was surprised to find you can watch live. Really good!

I use it on a regular basis, obviously you're going to have adverts what else do you expect but there is no need for the negative reviews it's a good, working and reliable catch up tv player !

There are very few adverts and the quality is great the only thing is that you can't fast forward. But over all it's a great way to watch the shows you've missed.

As I work permanent shifts , I miss my favourite soaps , I use this app to catch up on Emmerdale in my break , and with no adverts subscribing is even better .

Just been in hospital a week of no viewing
then back to normal (sort of) so I'm using
the hub to catch up on my programs.

When you try watch something a few minutes in it goes to the main menu all the time and starts playing from the start, fix the bugs update!!

I think this app is really good people moan about adverts but it would only be the same if u was watching it on normal TV ❤️

I use this app everyday and use it more than any other app i have an it has never crashed or stopped working for me. It's soo good! :)
