It's a free network app. I use it constantly. I don't have cable but you can sign in with another persons log on from a cable provider and bam. Unlimited viewing. Great for catching live nightly news when the kids are hogging the tvs. I have over the air broadcast and I do get 50 free HD channels. On those bad nights when reception is spotty I just open the app, throw it on the Apple TV and perfect live NBC. I don't use it for watching on demand content so I can't speak to the volume of commercials on that programming but it's awesome for what it is. Free tv boosted by a cable sign in. The only problem I had was vacationing in Rhode Island the app didn't let me watch live and I was too lazy to sign out and back in with the out of state credentials. I wish other broadcast networks had an app for live viewing. I have the local CT NBC app and it's flawless for watching love tv as well. The only downside to that app is commercials for every news story you want to view after it was live. Still. Worth the download.

I began watching half-expecting to be inundated with commercials, stoppages at just beginning to be fun moments and the like. NONE of that whatsoever ! A few ads you can skip and great shows were available, (The Entire Shows), and the clips and general information were all immediately available. I don't watch much television but Fallon's show is a really good set up with a very likable Star, superior band, a funny back up buddy and The guests were from Super Great Tom Selleck, and both other appearances and Fallon alone makes a show fun, interesting and yet he gets in reminders of the things in life that must be addressed, i.e. Our oceans and seas being used as toilets by oil cartel Tanker Pollution, Terrorism and Terrorists like Ghaddafi, ( if spelled incorrectly, please don't comment as for that human waste of air & space, I don't care).

NBC has done a great job putting this together and I thank them for so doing.

I love this app and how it shows you full length videos. I just feel like there should be a feature where you can fast-forward or backwards for 10 seconds and pause right in the screen. for example, when I press on the right side of the screen, it fast forwards 10 seconds of the show. when I press the left side of the screen, it fast backwards 10 seconds of the show. it can be useful when you mis heard a part of the show and you don't want to go 30 seconds backwards and misplace where you were at. also, when I press right in the middle of the screen, it pauses. instead of pressing on the left bottom of the screen, the center of the screen could be easier. it would also be easier to pause and continue to a show. another feature that could be nice is showing all the seasons of the shows. putting these aside, I give this app 5 stars because it lets me watch my favorite shows. for that, thank you.

If you are away from home or all your tvs are being used. Download this app and you can check the news weather and traffic anywhere. Or if you are out on a Saturday night but dont want to miss the laughs and surprises on SNL. You cant get that with the CBS ABC or Fox app. All you have to do is download this free app and select your provider and input your account information and you can watch the NBC anytime anywhere. If you enjoy sports and want to watch the Golf channel or Comcast sports or NBC Sports just download the inexspensive and very free NBC Sports app. Watch the Notre Dame Boston College game at Fenway Park which was a nail biter on your phone or laptop just like i did. Enjoy

cancelled my cable service over a yr ago because it was to expensive. I was able to watch all the shows I only wanted to see thru this NBC app . Now they all of a sudden want to change things and make you verify your cable tv service. Pulling the same crap that CBS app and others just started doing too.
Here's an idea, why don't you make this app a paid onetime yrly fee of 5. Bucks for those of us that don't want cable tv. ( like the 48 hours app did) othewise, i can always wait and find the tv shows on uu t uu b e watch them there. A friend of mine already watched the whole season 5 of Downton Abbey without hassles of verifying a cable service they do not have....

Excellent!! This app gets it right!! Finally a major U.S. TV Network app done right: Pretty much ALL Shows & episodes for free (with very limited super quick ads). Plus fun extended clips of things like Late Night with Seth (in addition to having whole episodes available as well if you have the time). While CBS all access is greedy & wants you to actually pay $8 a month for otherwise free over the air broadcast TV shows, NBC gives you 'all access' to its content pretty much for free just like you get with a broadcast TV antenna (but here with super quick limited ads so actually even better)! It's also an app on APPLE TV now so this is all truly great!!

It's refreshing when you pay for a television provider and in turn you get to watch their programs on a portable device for NO MORE MONEY! I really wish CBS would take note! All of the NBC channel apps work perfectly whether I'm home and want to watch late on my iPad or out and about and have downtime and want to watch a show! I don't mind the commercials, it's just like that on-demand. I don't give out my passwords to anyone, like somebody posted, that's nuts! You might as well give them your credit card #'s too, a copy of your birth certificate and driver's license while you're at it! Anyway, download it, it works great!

Unlike the Time Warner app, this is an app that is actually applicable outside of the home, which is where this app is most useful. Why would I need to use this app at home when I could just watch it on TV at home? The streaming is almost flawless and you get the quality of picture and programming that you expect as if you were watching it at home. I am very very pleased.

As far as the number of commercials, I realize since we are getting this app for free they have to pay for the app somehow so I am fine with the number of commercials. I would prefer not to have any, but I am reasonable and understanding.

User interface looks gorgeous. Stable, no crashes. I like how I can power off my device, turn it back on when I'm ready for more, and the app starts playing my show again! The app even features a "Classics" section. What a great selection of shows! One suggestion: each episode I share to Facebook should have a unique still photo depicting that episode. Your competitors have this feature; so should you. Until you implement this feature, I will not be sharing my favorite episodes to Facebook; who wants to share the same boring graphic each time one wants to share an awesome episode that they are watching?

NBC App - awesome! This is the best app I have come by. I try to catch up on many of my programs I like to watch. Unfortunately, they are with other stations which does not compare to your app and program streaming. They, the other stations, have constant buffering, program interruption, and other unnecessary issues, which, it seems you have identified and taken the time to resolve. I say you are looking out for your customers and take their feedback and suggestions to provide them (us) with a quality product. Thank you! Will watch more NBC. You really value your customer/viewers.

I have a very busy life and sometimes need to find a place where I can relax without being interrupted so I can enjoy the shows I love on NBC. This app has been my best friend to help keep me distracted from the hectic reality of my daily grind and escape into the exciting shows I can catch up on here. There have been a few glitches along the way with freezes and not being able to search for an episode I want to watch, but the app is continually evolving for the better and I appreciate that you are listening to your viewers. Overall, one of my favorite apps...

I understand when people complain about advertisements on an app, however with all of the time spent on advertisement is still less time than a regular TV episode. Doing this creates a more comfortable viewing environment for the audience. While I understand that you used to only have two advertisements in between the brakes, now it seems more like TV. Now although it seems more like TV it does have the aspect of an app which is lower commercial amount, higher definition, and the ability to stick headphones into your phone to watch. All in all love the app.

I got to see Tracy Morgan's triumphant return to SNL this morning at 9am. I was READY to see SNL at 9am on a Sunday. I couldn't see it live last night - I was too tired. I'm a long-distance bus driver and have been on the road almost non-stop since October 1st. I'm currently on a 3-day charter in Newark, NJ and even though I wanted to see SNL & TM, I NEEDED TO SLEEP. This app permits me to enjoy shows on NBC I want to see WHEN I CAN as opposed to when they air and for that, I can be safe on the road. Period, end of story.

With all the weather in the area sometimes we lose power and it is really nice to be able to go back and view missed shows and even view a few new ones.
Some people are upset because you have to verify service provider which is fine with me. I view this app as a companion to service already provided since you would have to subscribe to something in order to view these shows that have already aired ie demand.
Streaming is great with no interruptions or buffering and not as many commercials as you would think.

Really, I missed one of the shows, it's the lady Doctor, she marries Two guys. Really and the silly part is its legal. Really guys fun t.v. Three guys. Doctor P. Is nasty. But I hope that you don't have her to sleep with them all. That seem great for most people. But not cool for all people. Good t.v. Please guys. But if you do. You are telling the World that Vegas is the place were its ok to marry as many husbands and wives as you want. Well that would make the network would nasty now would it.

This is a great app but there is one thing that could make it better for a lot of users. I've signed in with my tv provider before on a different app and it asked for your credit card information meaning it will charge you. I would really appreciate it if you would make all of the shows free to watch without a tv provider log in. I'm sure that many other people would buy this free app if they could watch the shows freely whenever they want. Please consider this review. It will make your app a lot better!

I love this app everything is easy to find and I never miss my favorite shows. But here's the problem just like all the other apps they want you to rate it and write a review at the wrong time, sure you can dismiss it or put it off for a time, but if you don't rate it, it keeps asking over and over and is relentless in asking until it's done. Why not put the rate function in the menu and allow me to rate it when I want too, and if I never get around to it then your app is working perfectly. Enough said.

I missed a show that i had been intending to see for some time. My wife had other ideas and we didn't get back home in time to see it. I was upset to say the least. After looking on NBC to see if i could find the show they sent me to get this app.
I was able to see my show and a lot of others also. Now i have a backup for when i didn't get the show recorded or the service messed up or lost power. My new motto is have at least two backup alternatives including a network app.

I try to use network apps to catch up on shows I might miss throughout the busy work week. Some of them are okay. Most of them are horrible. The NBC app is one of the most reliable network apps that I use regularly. I tend to only use them while I am away from home(wi-fi) so having an app that streams this well on a data plan is great. Since this is also a free app I expect there to be ads played just like if I was watching this from home. This apps meets my expectations.

Streaming is flawless and programming is updated on a regular basis. As time goes on I watch more and more television on my iDevices and this app is one of my most used. Yes, users have to log in with a cable or satellite provider to have full access and there are commercials in the programs. But those that complain about this are either ignorant about how the television business works or are entitled individuals with unreasonable expectations.
