I do not tend to watch much television as the shows I enjoy are not showing at times I find convenient. This app is wonderful because it allows me to view any show I enjoy at any time that is suitable. There is one or two minor problems, however.
1 - When a video is opened and begins to play, the timeline bar is overlapped by the bar displayed at the top of the screen by the iPad, indicating the time, battery percentage etc. It does not affect the playing of the video, however it does impede on the ability to change where one is up to during the video.
2 - The watched video icon that is displayed on the video in the watchlist screen is buggy. Even if I have completed watching a certain episode it may still display the icon indicating there is still half of the programme left.
Other than these minor hindrances this app is wonderful. Congratulations ACB.

I love this app. When I miss shows due to work or sleep I'm able to catch up anytime. Works really well with Apple TV unless my iPad locks then I just have to unlock to keep watching. I would agree with the other reviewers that it would be great to have this app on Apple TV directly. I have had no trouble going out of the app and then back in to continue watching. I'm not keen on the new feature of ads before your video starts, as I've been using this app for years and have enjoyed ad free TV for most of that time. A great app that I highly recommend!

It's about time Australia caught up with the rest of the world for on demand viewing! This app works well. Shows are easy to find. All of my favourite shows are available on this app. Small issue with screen going blank every now and then, probably because I'm viewing through 3G. If you close the video then restart, though, the video is back AND it remembers where you were up to! All over a smooth watching experience. I can only hope the other, more commercial channels will catch up to ABC's innovation soon.

Well done for such a great app, no dramas in it's presentation and playing is always smooth. Content is great, although longer airing would be wonderful as life can be hectic and then an episode disappears... Although I hate the global warming implications of online content compared to regular tv viewing (share-housing doesn't always make that possible), I am grateful that you've made this app so user friendly. Compare this with the absurdly annoying sbs version and this is pure gold!! Huzzah ABC!!!

How quickly the new and marvellous become dull and mundane . The ability to watch content from ABC and SBS on demand is the majority of my TV watching and say definitely that content wise both these government channels have my vote and should not be tampered with by meddling liberals. I too would love to be able to view overseas and would be happy to pay a small fee for that as I would even locally if they continue to be able to be independent from the nutters in the liberal party.

I love this app. Its been my favourite for years. I appreciate the way in which ABC takes care of its viewers and makes sure that we have instant access to its programs.

I never illegally download, however its so tempting when you know you're missing out on your favourite shows and you don't get to share the excitement, say with Doctor Who, with the rest of the world at the same time. Other networks need to pay attention to what you guys have done. Thank you so much.

The app works well and smooth. I love that they upload the show almost immediately after it aired and that they optimize the download file size. Plus the app asks you if you are sure you want to play the file over the mobile network. As my internet sometime drops or I give the modem a break, is great to be warned before I consume my monthly included data and not after like a telco. Then, this is the ABC: so you know the shows are good.

This is a great app. But I tried to search for anything I could think of that was on the ABC channel. Not everything came up, but one really caught my eye. And that was "misbehaving mum's to be". It was rated PG for parental guidance. And when I typed it in you said that you don't show TV shows that are rated over pg yet you show others that happen to be rated M

Great app, great shows and documentaries. Why bother with FOXTEL when we have Abc and sbs whenever we want in our phones? The only problem I have now is that since the last update the custom watchlist is a little trickier to manage, I like the old format better. Overall, it was the first to catch up app I installed years back and I never expect to have a phone without it in the future. Nicely done ABC.

I've had this app for ages, and it is certainly an app I can rely on. No ads, which is amazing and there is a good selection of to shows. There is only one small thing that could improve, is that when you stop what you are watching or leave the app, you have to open it again and remember where you were up to. If that could be fixed, I would really appreciate it. Keep up the hard work! : )

A superb app that gives me access to so many programs from the ABC stable. I'm constantly searching for time to watch and listen to everything that I like. It's wonderful to have the freedom to choose when and where I will view the programs that I missed. It helps to take all the stress from any times I might miss the air viewing. ABC, you've come through with this one. Thanks.

Best steaming app in Aus. Even though it can be a bit buggy at times the design is good and makes sense. I can see a lot of work put into my this app but would also love to see it live up to its future potential. Also, can you fix the bug when you are scrolling through your watchlist it goes back up to the top after every click, very annoying.

This app has quite simply changed the way my family and I watch TV. It works perfectly, streamed to the TV, and my 4 year old can use it by herself. Miles better than any of the other Australian networks' apps. Only minor criticism is that it can be hard to see at a glance what you want to watch when you open the app - the old layout was better for this.

The ABC is one of the best sources of News & entertainment in Australia. So having an app that allows you to tap into that wealth of TV programming, anywhere & anytime, is fantastic. Whether it is catching up on shows you have missed, rewatching something great, or live streaming this app has it all. Definitely worth the 4 cents a day

Very handy app. I really enjoy using this app and have found it to be almost flawless. The only problem I've struck is very occasional and brief freezes. These always correct quickly. However any small flaw is offset by the fact that it's totally free, zilch, nada....and you can't complain about that. Good one ABC!

Love the app. Use it all the time. Heaps of content, regular updates and improvements. Only suggestion: would love a way to force load an episode where internet connection was slow, to get a full-res version that wouldn't start playing until it had enough of the episode cached to ensure no interruptions, pauses, etc.

There are no ads every time ten minutes.
You can have a watch list which makes easy to watch the show without having to go looking for it. Have not had problems with down loading shows.
When I had a problem I email them through the app and they fixed it quickly.
Abc view puts the commercial channels to shame.

The Ux designer who got removed/rolled when they took out his/her back30sec button should be put in charge of design decisions and this feature should be reinstated.
Best app I've ever used and uncrippled by SBSs (apparently home grown) ad feature disaster.
At least they still have the back 30 secs button...

Love the app and the ABC. Would like programs available for longer - all episodes of a series should be available for the length of the series as I don't watch the series if I can't see it from the beginning. Also I travel overseas frequently and would be happy to pay to watch content when I'm away. Thanks!

This app works consistently well and without the flaws of options (eg SBS equivalent). Generally downloads and plays seamlessly, despite our poor speed internet.

Well done ABC. Please, don't even consider interrupting shows with ads. Keep this easy to use offering. Where would we be without the ABC!
