I don't know whether mods have been made to this app after reading some of the other reviews but I've found it excellent. All the news is there it's quick and easy to get to and you can set your own interests up so you can look at the news that you are interested in first. I'm using an iPhone 6 it may be different on others.

Now that this app has been updated I find the news coverage excellent. Easy to use and items categorised so selecting world news, top stories, uk news or other categories such as sport or regional news simple to select. And it is FREE!
Update. I still feel this app deserves five stars. One of the best news apps around.

I really like this new incarnation. It suits my iPhone 6 plus perfectly, the layout is clear logical and functional. It allows me to get the information I want quickly and directly. I really like the photo click through to allow images to be seen more clearly. Not sure of what all the nay-sayers are banging on about!

This is a good app, nice layout. It would be good if there was a 'share on Facebook' link after each article so that interesting stories can be shared without having to find the link off the website.

Edit: not sure if I missed it first or whether it's been updated, but good to see that I can share on Facebook!

The app broke recently however mine has started working again. I believe this is because I first opened the app in airplane mode but then turned the wifi on once the app was open. For me the app was fine after this which could be because of what I did or because the bugs have been patched. Hope this works :)

Well done on creating one of the first apps to make best use of the apple watch size and functionality, the force touch options are useful and scrolling the glance and extension app with the digital crown makes great use of the space.

You clearly understand the product and others should follow this example!

I like the app in general, but it had become very frustrating to use after it took ages to load and then kept freezing .....using old ipad 2 and IOS 8 - everything is slow! However I have just re-installed and initial findings are that it has solved the problems of freezing. Worth trying.

This is a very good app. I use every day. But it keeps crashing. Very very frustrating. No other app is like this. Could someone fix so I can give it 5 stars. Hold what I said about crashing. If you delete app and then reinstall app appears to stop crashing. Back to 5 star.

I do really love having my own tabs that feature everything I want to read about. Like film, theatre and even space exploration.
I also love how I can see the most read and watched! Always enjoyed that feature on the website and now I have it at my finger tips.

It's not where everyone says it is and I think it's a big improvement.

The UI is more friendly, the news you want to see is actually in its own section for you to save time instead of waste it.

The images are a little heavy but I suppose they're supposed to be

I've previously reviewed this app with a 5 star rating, then with a 2 star rating after an update which wasn't great. I promised to update again and here it is, thank you for removing (or auto hiding) the status bar in video, I can now read the captions again!

Excellent improvement. I was definitely just bearing some of the design decisions in the previous version. The compact view makes far better use of my phone screen and the way the new setting is introduced on first launch is to be applauded.

Naturally read so many more articles as a result of this new update. A pleasure to browse and read. Obviously slight transition to new navigation which might take some getting used to, but can feel the benefits already. Love the images too.

Doesn't crash any more, like it used to do. The news still tends to be a bit slow but mainly at weekends. Pretty good locally. On the whole much better than it used to be.
The papers are back to normal and pretty good.

Not a bad app, have been using it for years and it seems to be getting better. Works as expected, very few crashes over the years and the only drawback is the live streaming which works only from the UK.

I just love this App. It's configuration possibilities are endless and it can be configured exactly to meet individual needs. It is slick and smooth in operation and is my first port of call for news.

A great app that not only ensures that no important news is missed but also has background stories from the BBC's large coverage of the world. Selection of my own interest areas makes ii manageable.

Quick, easy to use, you can customise your news topics. Perfect for your mobile phone or tablet. Some of the breaking news alerts seem a little odd, but overall it can't be faulted.

I really do not understand why people may dislike this site. I have been using it for years, and I am proud that people all over world value it as a source of unbiased reporting.

Especially when I'm abroad, I have UK and world news at my finger tips. First thing I look at in the morning. Much better than any other international or national service.
