I just scheduled 5 upcoming MLB games in 1/10th the time of going through the Remote/Box set-up. Typically I go to DTVs website via my computer to see what channel each of the upcoming Red Sox games are for the Home Feed with HD. I write down each day & time for the upcoming week and then go to the TV and locate the Day, then the Channel, then the Time using the +12 Hours feature from the current time to find the game and then set it to record. Then go back to find the next Channel and then go to the Day & Time I need for it, and so on. Often, because I'm in Hawaii with a 6 hour time difference from EDT, I also have to make a note of the time it is showing to be able to find it easily. With this Application that I just downloaded, all I had to do was find the MLB Channel I wanted, go to it in the App, it shows me each scheduled day and time for actual games, not "Upcoming Red Sox at Toronto" for two days. I just needed to select the game I wanted and then "Record" and I was done. As I said, it took 1/10th the time and was simple, as opposed to complex. For people who want to be able to view what they have scheduled or to delete shows, I believe that such information is stored on just your receiver, not DirecTV's server, so they don't have this information to display via the Application. Especially for someone like me, that doesn't have landline phone, there is no way for them to retrieve this information.

This free app has never failed me, and I find it extremely useful! Can't understand poor review from others as it has NEVER given me a problem.

We all get distracted from time to time, and remember you forgot to set recording of a movie or program. This app solves that issue, as I set record function wherever I am. Choose program, set record, watch it when I get home -it's just that easy! A time or three I have been out and heard friends talking about a movie or program they liked. Before getting this app, I had to write down or remember the show, and hopefully remember to search when arriving home. Now, I just pull out Mr. iPhone, search the program ("Search" function is great!) and set recording. You can even select which receiver if you have more than one. This app has really helped me get the most out of DTV, and I HIGHLY recommend it!

I have nothing to do with DTV, aside from being a customer. I have no connection with anyone who wrote this app. Ergo, I have no reason to write a biased review apart from my own use and experience.

This works absolutely great! Will really make a difference when travelling on business. To refute one comment, the application does indeed have Fox news as well as every other channel to which I subscribe. There is no media bias or attempt to exclude Fox news from the application. We're all a little sick of the right wingers' comments that the "leftist media", apparently now including Direct TV, has some sort of vendetta against right wing media like Fox News. "Leftists" have by far been the biggest proponents of free speech in this country, even defending racist groups' rights to congregate. While Fox news certainly to many viewers is jingoistic, often packed with lies, definitely a mouthpiece for those who are still mad about the presidential election and frankly a bit shrill, Direct TV does a great job of presenting a wide spectrum of viewpoints and I hope continues to be a proponent of free speech and media access.

I'm so confused to whether or not the previous reviews are rating the same app as myself. I have the ability to watch all my recordings from home no matter where I am. The option is to browse on phone or browse on TV and it's great. I saw some people state that the app is constantly crashing but you might want to discuss this issue with your wireless carrier. Additionally I'm able to watch some of the latest movie releases and I love it. I'm never home constantly traveling and no matter where I am I'm able to connect to some enjoyable television. I saw some complaints about the inability to fast forward I've never had this problem. I absolutely love this app and their service. I use AirPlay to connect to the AppleTV and have a larger screen. I'm so confused on these reviews though. Hopefully all the nicks and crannies are adjusted for you all in the near future!

I swear this app is better than the actual Directv! We finally set this up and I don't know how I managed without this during baseball season. All the games I could have watched! sigh..

To the app... It works surprisingly well, without the normal crashes one would expect from a TV app. The search functions are clean and quick - at times faster than my TV - with multiple search options. All the options that are exclusive to one's particular package are displayed so watching movies on paid premium channels is as simple as watching the regular package channels.

I expected this to be a so-so app included as a little add on to my service but found that I use it much more often than I ever imagined. Kudos to Directv to put time and effort into developing a great app.

I've had this app less than a week, but so far I love it!
I'm addicted to CNN, and we have an upstairs area we are working on that currently has no TV. So now either my iPhone or
iPad serves as TV, and quite well! I will also have my DirecTV with me when I go visit family and stay over - I am a horrible sleeper and love to have CNN on quietly in the middle of the night. And HD on my phone. My TELEPHONE!!! I am amazed all the time by technology's leaps and bounds, unlike some of your younger reviewers who have grown up with these kinds of technologies and are more willing to criticize. So to re-cap, I love this amazing app. TV on my phone. Clear, bright, sharp, HD COLOR (when I was a little kid there was only black and white!!) TV. Thank you!

This application is simple but extremely effective. You can search for shows easily by channel, title, or time (probably more, but this is all I use), and then, with a single click, schedule it to record on your home system from anywhere in the world. I found it extremely easy to set up, but, full disclosure, I'd already used the online scheduler, so the system seemed to already know a lot about me. The only thing I'd add, and it's not essential, is the ability to see my "to do list," however, I'm not even sure this is possible. But ... it would be nice to see what programs I'd already scheduled. Regardless, if you have DirectTV and an iPhone and you don't have this application ... you are missing some very convenient functionality.

If you know how to use this App it's perfect. Yes you can't watch everything. And yes certain things will be unavailable but I guarantee you if you have the GenieGo as a part of your system it's better than you can imagine. Yes I am a technician for Directv so I may be a little biased but I have never once had a single issue using this App and I walk every customer I meet through it and I've never heard a single complaint. Educate yourself on the system and you will be able to Fully utilize this app.

Like so many CRapps this one is bout the same - CRap. All it's good for is setting programs to record ( after an exhaustive search ) a program you want to view later. It will not allow you to start recording once the program has started. As for watching anything via my iPhone that's never going to happen. Always says show not available. Even for pre-recorded ones on my list. And yes, my phone is wirelessly connected to the same network as my tele. More useless junk.

I think this app gives a person with a DirecTV subscription some flexibility in how they watch TV. The only problem I have had is when my Internet Provider's DSL Router Modem lost its configuration. Happened twice. 1st time there was a Satellite receiver firmware upgrade which resolved issue. 2nd time I called D-TV support and they resolved the issue with one call. Overall, I am pleased with the app.

Update: After finding out from TP7933, how to fix the issue, my widget now works. To fix the issue go to Menu-settings & help-Settings-Whole Home-External Device-set everything to "Allow". Thanks so much TP7933!!

The so called widget does not work. It says it couldn't find any internet connected receivers. The idea of the widget is awesome, but this bug needs to be fixed first.

I love this app. I almost never use it at home on my network. (But why do I need to there's several tvs here) I use it mostly to watch Fox News at work. And it works great all the time for me! But I have full LTE service where I live and work. (Sprint, I'm 21 can't afford Verizon's outrageous data!! Switched 3 months ago. My phone bill is a 1/3 of what it was.)

Awesome application. I've used this app for a couple days and as of yet no problems finding shows/movies I am interested in watching. Word of advice is to be connected to a strong wifi connection while watching otherwise you may only receive audio from the show. All in all a solid app. If you have to pause the program for later it remembers where you left off.

Once I figured out the content rules (a few providers do not allow online viewing at all, some only allow online viewing if I am at home on my home WiFi, while many allow me to stream via LTE wireless), I was able to enjoy the app. It is great when I encounter unexpected delays or when I want to entertain the kids in the store while the wife is shopping.

Awesome . I get the same thing on my phone as I do at home . Wonderful app . Good for on the go with kids or when all the tv's are occupied . I just give my phone or the kids take their phone and watch what they want . Either on the computer or my phone . Wether we are in the car or waiting . So yes it's a good app . I have no complaints .

They have the best customer service, and when I had cable television there were just as many weather related problems with reception, so don't believe the people that say Directv has weather problems. I have been with them for over 12 years and I'm happy. If there are weather related problems, they give credit no problem. Can't beat that!

I had the same error messages as everyone else on here. But to use the Apple Watch, you have to go in to your receiver's settings and make some changes to the defaults. Menu-Settings&Help-Settings-WholeHome-ExternalDevice-and then ALLOW for External Access, Current Program, and Recordings.

Most TV providers have streaming options but I switched to DirecTV for the sports options. They blew me away by giving me access to the app four days prior to the installation on the house. That is great customer service. Thanks AT&T for making my bill lower and finally giving me direcTV.

Do you ver realize you forgot to record something and then just have to HOPE you may catch it again? Not everything goes up onDemand. This app is just plain awesome!! I can set recordings and series recordings on the go! I try not to let TV rule my life and this app makes it easier!

I only gave them five stars to get to the top did I personally think that they really should let you stream offline and it only lets you do it if you are connected to the same receiver's wifi. THAT IS BEYOND STUPID. Why would I stream at my own house. So to wrap it up. Don't get it
