Radio Can't Be Beat!

I've been with Slacker for many, many years; I still have one of their original G1 players lying around someplace. Slacker's biggest strength by far is their radio stations. For the most part, they are curated really well, and being able to integrate ABC News and ESPN into the music feeds is really nice. That way, I can stay in touch while I'm listening to a stream. I've tried other internet radio services (like Pandora) and have never liked the music selections as well as what Slacker provides. Note, though, that you really need a paid account of some sort for Slacker to work well. If you listen to the radio only, you can get the $4 account, which pretty much makes it like Pandora One. The Premium service ($10) is nice, but it suffers in that Slacker is radio first, and the on-demand functionality is a bit clunky as a result; they tried fitting it into their radio interface, and it's a bit like plugging a square peg into a round hole.
As for the app, Slacker seemingly develops for iOS first, and the slickness of the app shows as a result. I had a Windows Phone for several years and can tell you that Slacker's Windows Mobile app doesn't hold a candle to the iOS one. I particularly appreciate the preselects, which allows for the app to be operated much as a car radio. The app has been stable for me (iPhone 6s Plus).
