This has been my favourite game since I first played it. Although it's gotten much less attention than most of the other games in the series, I would make a case that it's the best. Don't let the older graphics deter you; it's plot is both funny and moving, the characters quirky and life-like, and you'll definitely walk away from the game impressed. Highly recommend.

The classic returns full of nostalgia. Bought it day 1 and it runs like a champ with zero lag and responsive controls. I wish it supported Mfi controller like the Nimbus but I'll wait for an update as I play through. The high res characters add so much to it. This port reminded me of how much FFIX did not receive the recognition it deserved when it was released.

My favorite FF of the PSOne era and my second fave after VI. Graphics are great and the character looks have been sharpened. This is a universal app which is great.

Plays great on my iPad Mini 4! Worth the price in every way so if you skipped this classic in the past, do yourself a favor and buy it now! One of Uematsu-san best pieces!

Never bought ff7..i think because the graphic wasn't really that appealing to me to look at...but ff9 was just pure amazing, jump right into it. Spoilers the fast forward is just pure genius.But this is not why am right writing this review..wth you guys skip ff8?..i would bought that in a heartbeat..

This game plays great on my iPhone 6 and all the little extra stuff this version adds on like all the little cheat codes is a nice added bonus as well! Graphics have been enhanced and the story is how I remember it 10+ years ago. Now where is FINAL FANTASY 8 SQAURE ENIX!!! THATS EVERYONES FAVORITE!!

I'm so glad they re-released this game in an iOS format! It is just like the original but a little cleaned up and has a few extra (gameshark) features. My only request would be that the "auto-attack" feature would allow for memory/macro.

Most Efficiently optimized interface I've seen for a game made into a phone application. Phenomenal story telling with compelling character development. Gameplay and experience is one you'll struggle to forget. For RPG fans this is an absolute must purchase!

Heck yeah! After reading about the controls for FFVII I was discouraged, but then IX came out and with improved controls!!! Thank you Square! Dare I say the only thing that could make me more happy would be a port of VIII? (Hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink)

All the negative reviews are mostly coming from crashes while folks are trying to run this game on old apple equipment (iPad 2)... Read the requirements people. Runs fine with my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6s Plus. Thanks for being this game mobile Square Enix!

This is a great port of FF9 on the phone. It's easy to play in small bursts because the game seems to auto save on every screen. Movement and UI interactions are painless.

All that's left is FF9 itself, which is a great game every RPG fan needs to play!

This game has been one of my favorites in the Final Fantasy series spent hours replaying this classic. What would be even better is when they port the entire series to the new Apple TV so can play whenever on the go and on your big screen.

I loved this game as a kid and was happy to play it again as an adult on my iPhone. The game works great. I didn't have any problems with lag, controls or anything like some of the other reviews mentioned. Would definitely recommend.

I loved this game as a kid when it first came out on the PSX and now it's even more amazing that I have the game right in the palm of my hand wherever I am or wherever I go. Definitely worth the money to download from the App Store.

I've played for about 2 hours so far and it's been great! The story is really entertaining and there's lots to do and explore. This game has been square enix's best final fantasy ios port so far and it looks and runs wonderfully!

Updated visuals, new features (cheats, auto save, fast forward, skip movies), as well as optimized touch screen controls make this the best version of this game. Could not have asked for a better port of this classic.

Well worth every penny, the perks are awesome too, grew up with the game having to borrow it from friends, (isn't that crazy that no one borrows games anymore), never was able to finish, now I can play wherever I go.

If you feel so nostalgic you should consider picking up FF9. The port is way good and I spent to most happy 30 hours finishing this master piece.. Thanks so much ❤️

I think this port is great! The latest update allows the controls to be used outside the game screen on the 6+ and that was my only complaint about it. Thanks for fixing!

Play this while on break from work. Have the original on the PlayStation. Can we get an all items button for those who just want to play for the main story line? Thanks.

Get rid of the effing card game. Sorriest stupid game ever. Whoever came up with it and implemented it into the game is a tool.
