There are some differences between mint and personal capital. Both are excellent apps for personal finance but personal capital is better for those interested in investing. I love this app, I use it and rely on it more than I do than mint. Mint I feel is meant to learn how to manage your money while personal capital takes it to the next step. It guides you to not only manage your money but grow your money.

Aggregates most financial accounts (you can manually add others and see if you can work with PC to get your financial institution added), and backed by strong customer service. Easy to use interface with a wealth of information displayed in tabular and graphic formats. Best of all, it's free and runs on all sorts of portable devices. Retirement planner is by far the most comprehensive you'll see anywhere.

If you want to have more rigid budget discipline, this app is handy. It breaks down expenditures into various charts, and categorizes them by type of expense.

Also, if you have multiple bank accounts, this app can log into all your accounts and give you a real time number of your net worth, as well as how your various investments are performing. I'll admit, I'm hooked. I want to see that number rise!!

I finally have one app where I can collect all of my asset accounts, keep track of real estate holdings value and mortgage loans for a precise net worth. The reminders that pop up and give me month to month spending comparisons also help me to stay within my budget goal. A recent problem with a log on to external account was rapidly corrected by the support team. this is a 5 star app for sure.

I usually do not leave app reviews due to time constraints, however, I really like this app. I like being able to see all of my assets in one place and my net worth. It's a vivid picture that is favorable or shows that you need to do more work fiscally. I'm not where I want to be yet, but I am working on it. This app will help me get there. Keep up the good work. Waiting for push notifications.

Was horribly frustrated with Quicken (user since the early 90's) and their sync issues. Tried Personal Capital - easy to set up, easy to add accounts, great visualization of data - what else could you ask for... Only minor downfall is that I cannot (or have not yet figured out how) project cash flow based on expenses that you enter ahead of time. That is a small issue for me however.

I like having this app so I can view everything at once--all of my checking and savings accounts, my IRA, my husbands's 401K, my student loans, all of our credit cards… it's just really helpful to have it centrally located.

My only complaint might be that I get notifications that are a little annoying but I'm sure I could just turn them off if I took a second to figure it out.

Finally someone has a program that puts all of your essential financial info in one spot. The program gathers all the info you request automatically. You can easily compare your investments to an index. You can also use their investing service if you want or just ignore them. Fill in a few assumptions and quickly get an idea of whether or not your retirement plan is achievable.

For years I've been using Yodlee, PageOnce and Mint and have no complaints about any of them. I came across this app and decided to try it. It quickly became my favorite all in one finance app. For investments there is no comparison since it analyzes your holdings, and actually makes suggestions on how to better diversify. Whatever your net worth, I strongly recommend this app.

I think I've tried them all at this point. PC, Mac, and mobile variations of a product that will track all my accounts and provide easy to read analysis of allocation and performance, along with alerts. This one does it and does it well. They've nailed both design and function, something all of the others fall flat in at least one area or the other. Highly recommended.

This is the best personal finance app so far. It beats Mint hand down. You can get pretty nerdy and technical if you want with investments or just work on cash flow. Great on iPad, iPhone and web. The only warning is that they call end email you often asking to actually be your professional financial manager. Once I told them I wasn't in the market they stopped calling.

This is the best financial tracking app I have ever used! You don't have to spend time entering or categorizing transactions, this app does it for you. All you have to do is link your checking acct and "BOOM" it's all there in front of you! Most financial apps I've used have ended up being a nightmare to set up so I appreciate the fact that this app does it all for you.

This is a great app that gives you an excellent dashboard of your current financial portfolio. They even offer free services once you hit a certain threshold of holdings. I received a personalized call from one of their reps asking to perform a free financial analysis with recommendations. I don't know of any other app out there that offers such an incredible service!

This app is great! It does everything Id expect. The one thing it doesn't do is reduce my reliance on my 2007 copy of Microsoft money deluxe. Cashflow forecasting (a graph showing the daily account balance on my checking account for future dates) is something I can't give up. This is the sort of thing I should be able to do on my phone. But nobody has done it right.

It takes a little time to set it up. But it's exciting to watch your net worth go up when you putting in all your accounts. And the monthly cash flow really makes you understand all the money your spending vs. your cash coming in. It takes a couple of months to level out and provide you some good data.
I have already recommended it to several of my friends.

This app is fabulous. I was worried about security but feel better after several financial gurus say they love it and trust it.

But the danged app quit working yesterday. It closes itself after I log in. The app support does not seem to have anyway to report it. So I hope someone from personal capital sees we are having issues and fixes it pronto.

I wanted a simple way to keep track of my purchases on my debit card & this app (which I heard about from Gimlet Media's Startup Podcast) is exactly what I needed! It automatically shows me my purchases once I logged into my bank account. I can see in beautiful graphics how much I spend on my food, my car, my health, and my clothing. It is beautiful.

This update finally added the one thing that kept me from switching to PCap from Mint! It could use a few fixes, such as the ability to automatically categorize transactions with the same name, and a fix to better categorize credit card refunds not as income, but I'm happy to see PCap moving in the right direction! I'm a regular user from now on!

While far more adept at handling brokerage account info, it needs to have some of Mint's more user friendly capabilities such as automatic updates to all occurrences of a given transaction.

Also lack of a report generation capability is a negative factor.

Still waiting for correction to get to my SunTrust account which has been down since 5/6.

This app is awesome! I have been looking for something like this for quite sometime.. Had it all set up and linked to all my accounts in about 2 hours, trying to set up alerts for payments due and hope that is an option but regardless this app will be used daily by me. Perfect for people concerned about bills and credit! 4 thumbs up...lol
