Please bring the Adventure Bar Story 2 to the US as well!!

While the title may be a bit odd, with the price and the game fully playable without in-app purchases, you can't go wrong with this game for a classic JRPG.

Pros:
-Entire game is playable with in-app purchases only giving a few powered up weapons that aren't necessary at all.
-A full length story; probably 20-30 hours.
-A great and fun cast of characters, including great enemies and bosses.
-Great level-up, skill, and battle systems.
-Many, many recipes to find and unlock.
-Several hidden secrets.
-Good world and dungeon music.
-Plot starts off simple but grows more complex as time goes on.
-Many post game dungeons and content to find.

Cons:
-Translation is ok but has many odd lines and punctuation errors. However, it's fully understandable and doesn't detract much from the story.
-Several gameplay aspects could be explained much better.
-Battle music gets repetitive.
-Cooking simulation is too simple design wise, lacking in levels, animations, or diverse icons.
-After you beat the game, there are several post-game dungeons and areas. But in one area (named ????), I beat the first boss and walked up to the rune, and simply got told that I am not ready yet. It doesn't explain if I need another item, to level up more, or have all the recipes unlocked, or anything.

About 2 hours in and I'm hooked . A different premise for an RPG for sure . Nice controls great graphics , and the cooking and eating to lvl up is really cool .

Seems like it will be a nice long game
too . Will report back with more detail , but so far for a buck I'm very pleased
and this is definitely one of the better IOS RPG's I've played .

Folks !!!! To eat to lvl up - make some food then open the character menu . On the revolving menu on the left you will see the EAT option . Click and then select the character and tap their pic to eat and lvl up . ############ And to get cooking tools - blender , fry pan etc etc you buy them at the shop .

Andrew - when you make food enter the menu and there is an option to eat on the rolling options on the left- keep scrolling and you will find it . Hit eat then select your character and tap them - they will eat it and gain EX you can eat 99 sat a say . Just make sure you have made some food first otherwise there will be no EAT option . So if you made 6 scrambled eggs you could eat 2 one for your starting party members and then sell the rest on the menu .

Is great! It's fun and easy the cooking can get a little complicated since its basically trial and error unless you know the ingredients that would be used irl but other then that it's a wonderful enjoyable and kid friendly rpg/sim I'm only a hour or 2 into it but it's a nice game so far

Okay so now this game is 5 stars I'm about 6 hours play time in and I love it it's all just fun trying to make money wile managing so you can eat and gain xp wile fighting and geting more resources I find this game so entertaining and fun the fightings a little bland with the small amount of varity but I have a feeling it's gunna get much better soon I hope they update this game id gladly pay a buck or 2 for a add on with a few new locations maybe extends the game another month or so new wepons and maybe even have some randomly generated bosses or strong monsters give them a small chance to drop new wepons or something itd be great! Well anyway amazing job guys lovein this game never before spent money on Iap s for currency but I just might in hopes of more great games and updates! Keep up the great work! easily!

This is an amazing game, not to mention its only 99 cents. You honestly can't beat that. The game is actually worth 4 or 5 times more than they are charging for it. I've probably put around 50 hours into it and I'm guessing I'm about 2/3 through the game. For the people who have said there's no depth to the game...what a crock! There are dozens of cut scenes and surprises, not to mention tons of secrets to discover. If the game feels too repetitive to you, then you are doing something wrong. Also, just a side note, the fights are actually very challenging if you are doing the dungeons close to your level. I have died many times and either had to start the dungeon over or teleport out early to spare my progress. Obviously if you are repeating low level dungeons, they are going to be easy. That's the whole reason that they even put in an auto fighting feature in the first place. I truly wish there were more games like this available in the app store.

First off I am not at all a huge fan of IAP! However, I have to give a huge pardon to RideonJapan for this game is really, really awesome! The game doesn’t pressure you to buy extra jewels but they are there just in case. Otherwise you can play this game as is without IAP but there is so much stuff in here I actually broke down and bought a 15 pack. In my view the game is flows smoothly and combines the best of two elements of management games as well as turn based RPG games.

From what I’ve read there’s a part two, but not in the US. By all means if RideonJapan was to release the sequel I would definitely buy it with no hesitation. One other bonus to point out is that if you still have an iPod 4 this game plays perfectly on there without any issues which is a good thing with most apps not working with the most recent iOS 8 update.

Highly recommend at the asking price.

For a port of an old game, Adventure Bar is one if the best out there. With a unique concept mixed in with old RPG elements, you'll find the break between the two sides of the game to set the perfect pace. However, it can get a bit tedious, especially when grinding to get to harder dungeons.
Tip: Don't go into a new dungeon until you're at least 5 lvs higher then the previous dungeon. Even then, save before you head out and create another midway. This way you can bail if it gets too hard or the end boss whips you good.
Oh, and before using all your precious gems, just be smart and save before unlocking a recipe. That way you'll know the ingredients and save a gem.
There is also a very helpful google spreadsheet online that tells you every single recipe, hint, and plot unlock point. Use it, for it will basically be your copilot as you play.

Thanks to the game developers for coming up with this fascinating game. I have a feeling I will be replaying it for a long, long time. There are so many different ingredients to play with. I'm not finished with the game yet, but I'm so glad there's something like this in the App store. Nothing else compares to it. The dialogue is funny, the story is interesting (I'm not sure where it's going, but the characters interest me so far), and making different foods is amazing.

I'm really glad you don't need IAP to play this game because I don't have an internet connection and I don't have free wifi spots nearby. But I love this game, and I wish there were more things as fun as this. I think I'm going to be sad when I complete the game because I know that nothing else in the app store will compare with this.

Completed game once and after a while started replaying. Used some online guides to get a few recipes that have no hints or similar recipes. The menu choices are Japanese culture based (plum riceball, omelet w/ketchup, etc) Learning monster element weaknesses is the only way to survive many later fights. ❄️ Difficult to get either customer happiness either good or bad. Still not sure how seasons affect food. ☕️ I might eventually play through a third time! (PS save often. and then save again.)

Unique blend between strategic business and RPG style fighting. Never understood why this game was never able to gain publicity because it deserves to be listed in the top games apps. I would easily say this is in my Top 5 of best games I've played on the App Store.

Also very impressed by the response time of the developers, they broke the game with an update and then fixed it in 2 weeks. Considering that Apple's review process of updates often takes that long, this was a fantastic job by the developers.

Good artwork, excellent recipe system, and a straight forward goal to work towards. Has a slight Harvest Moon feel, as you can make your own ingredients from base ingredients, and dishes from recipes. Been playing non-stop for a couple of hours now and I have to say I am extremely impressed! This game is on another level entirely from other iOS games I've played. Would recommend! 5 Star. Also, playing on iOS version 6, on iPhone 4 and having no problems or glitches.

So in order to save your business you explore different locations with a few monsters and boss fights to gather food items and use items to cook recipes then you sell the food items you cook to customers. It's very straight forward. The only thing I don't like is you have to use guess work to solve some recipes.

This game reminds me of Rune Factory... minus the incessant "daily" farming rituals. Instead of farming daily, you cook daily for your restaurant. You make your way through dungeons in classic RPG style to gather ingredients for hundreds of possible recipes. The leveling up system takes some getting used to (you get to eat the food you make)... but it also gives you total control on how to develop your characters. This game is well worth the price!

Fun to play and so far I love the story. I only wish there was a way to earn jewels instead of having to buy them with money but you do not need them to play the game so overall it's a cool game. I also wish there was a way to restore the game progress. My daughter deleted it off my phone and now I have to start all over but since I like it so much I'm going to try to play through it again and finish it

Fun interesting take on an RPG. IAPs aren't mandatory to play which is nice. Sprites are cute. Main complaint is there's too much stuff! Playing on a phone, scrolling through all the ingredients / dishes gets... old. Also kinda annoying you can't rotate your screen (awkward to play with my phone plugged in and port on wrong side)

I normally don't play iPhone games. I saw this had high ratings high star ratings so I figured I'd give it a shot. There's no pressure in buying tools but it's there if you need the extra help. A well thought out game I would recommend it to anybody even if you're not into RPG very simple yet well thought out.

The battle system gets a lot more fun as you learn skills. Don't be turned away after the first encounter seems bland! Also collecting the ingredients and discovering new recipes to make/sell at your restarting is a fun motivator to get out in the world for materials.

Just beat the first boss and having a lot of fun the mix between scavenging and fighting is good and I like how in this game, unlike atelier rorona(also a good game), the only thing that costs days is ending the day when you choose.

This game is so interesting there is literally never a moment where u can be doing nothing. Although this isn't enough to warrant less than five stars it would be really nice of the characters made facial expressions too

Second time playing and I only just discovered the priest in the chapel will sometimes tell you what to do next - old game I did get stuck doing nothing but trying to raise sales but even so, the game is super fun
