First I thought I'd point out like other reviewers I did have issues with this app at first, you have to create a sky iD account to use it however once you did that, it would say "sky I'd not recognised" when you try login with it -sky seemed to have rectified this issue now and I could log in ok late evening on the 16th Feb, I also was able to purchase the subscription for 4.99 - this is set for auto renewal by default but you can turn this off in the settings of the app and just pay for the month you want it which is handy.

There is no iPad app however I installed the iPhone app and set it to 2x and the quality is certainly good enough to ditch you phone and use the iPad for bigger screen,

The inclusion of ESPN is a nice bonus since they have FA cup etc, I can confirm that on iPhone 4s and ipad3 all channels work brilliantly

Fantastic channels for the price

I pay the £10 for all the channels and it's still an absolute bargain, knowing I will never miss a game is phenomenal.

No idea how people can complain about it not being HD, the majority are paying £5 a month or rather under 20 pence a day to be able to guarantee they can watch most televised premier league matches.

Let's be honest would it even be worth having HD on such a small screen? Crazy what the world expects nowadays, Sky have, some would say needlessly, provided an affordable platform to watch the majority of the matches.

I will occasionally pay the NowTV fee on my ps4 if there is a particularly strong 24 hours of football so they probably get maybe £20 a month off me, far less than it would cost to have the channels on my Telly all the time.

I agree with previous comments the picture quality is not HD but I find it watchable on iPhone 6. Not though in iPad I don’t like it x 2 on iPad. I don’t think Sky will do a proper iPad version as this would compete with NOW TV and they would have already done it by now. If they did I would be willing to pay more for it. The way I look at it this is far better than listening to football on a radio. At the end of the football season I will turn off the subscription as I only watch football on it. Pretty cool having Sky Sport on and iPhone. Would be interesting to hear a review from someone with an iPhone 6 plus regarding picture quality on the larger screen.

It costs £9.99 for the subscription for one month only...however, it will keep the subscription going unless you manually cancel it which is easy to do...after the subscription you can literally watch anything you like on sky sports 1-5 plus espn...I'm on three network and it streams fine with good quality on 3G and I watch the premier league games or any other sport...and you don't have to be a sky customer as I am with virgin media but I can still use it on my iPhone 4s...excellent app..only given it 4 stars as I don't like the price for just 1 month..

This is an incredible app. The quality is very good considering it's only £5. Many are complaining that it should be HD etc, but they are never going to make it as good as the full sky go app as you have to pay 6-8 times as much to get the full service. It's at least 75% of the quality. It's well worth paying £5 a month for, the zoomed version on the iPad is not to bad either. Considering its a zoom it's certainly acceptable. As far as I'm concerned it's worth every penny!

Having been a long time subscriber of Sky sports mobile tv, I have to say I am delighted with the new update

Whilst I don't expect hd quality for £5 a month ( I still pay the same figure from around 2 years ago) the improvement in quality on this update makes the app fantastic value for even the £9.99 they charge new customers, and a great entry level price fur Sky sports , which I would struggle to afford at home.

So here goes. Ever since iOS 9 and the multitasking on the iPad this app which is excellent and it works brilliant whilst in the app but the problem comes when you leave the app and go back through multitasking, IT STOPS WORKING!!! Then you have to restart all over again, please fix this problem otherwise it's brilliant. Update to iOS 9.1 and soon ok. Thanks sky for great app anyways.

I agree with many ipad users, picture quality is that of streaming online but it is only £4.99pm which really is great value for money. I watch many sports not covered by terrestrial tv and am more than happy. If they ever make an iPad app for it and improve the quality then I would be v pleased.

Really enjoying the Sky Sports mobile app, it lets me keep up with all the sports activity whilst on the go. Would really love to be able to have access to PPV events through this format. That would be the icing on the cake!

Update: new version fixes issue, you may have to log out/in.

Terrible update with zero feedback on breaking the app and unable to use. Twitter enquirers for support being directed to hopeless faq system.

Got my app working again - I re-subscribed and it works again and I still got my early adopters price.

Picture quality is much better now. No issues streaming during live games either

Since the update the Picture quality is much better.
