Moving
Apps, Widgets, and Categories can be moved and re-arranged by long clicking and dragging them to the desired destination.
To move an App or a Widget into a different category, drag it and drop it onto the category tab. The App will be removed from the source and placed into the new category.
To place an App or a Widget into the QuickBar, drag it and drop it onto the QuickBar. The App will remain in the original category, but will also be accessible in the QuickBar.
Removing and Uninstalling
Uninstalling
To uninstall an App, go to the App¥'s category and begin to drag the icon. The ¥"Uninstall¥" zone will appear in the bottom right corner. Drop the App onto the ¥"Uninstall¥" zone and you will be prompted to uninstall the App.
Removing
If you begin dragging a Category tab, a QuickBar icon, a Widget, a Shortcut (link), or an icon from the Recent Apps area, a ¥"Remove¥" zone appears instead. If the item is dropped in the Remove zone, the item will be removed without a prompt, but the App will not be uninstalled.
Hiding Apps
To hide an app, begin dragging it, and the ¥"Hidden¥" category tab will appear on the side menu. You may need to drag the App over the menu and hover near the bottom if it is scrolled off the screen. Drop the app on the ¥"Hidden¥" category tab.
To access the ¥"Hidden¥" category later, clicking the up arrow near the bottom will display the tab, allowing you to click on it.
Searching
Go to the ¥"Search/Recent¥" category tab. Begin typing in the Searchbox. Matching Apps will be displayed below the Searchbox. You can use a period (¥".¥") as a wildcard character. If only a period is entered, all installed apps will be displayed.
You can drag apps from the search results and place them into categories.
Settings
Clicking the small up arrow at the bottom right (or bottom left if you¥'ve configured a left-side menu) will expand an actions menu over the QuickBar. This menu allows you to Sort the current category, Rename the current category, Add a new category, Add a Widget to the current category, and show the Settings page.
Clicking the up arrow also shows any hidden category tabs to allow clicking on them.
Widgets/AppWidgets
To add a widget to the current category, Click the small up arrow near the bottom of the screen, then click ¥"Add Widget¥". A system menu will appear with the available widgets. Select one. You may be prompted to ¥"Allow Sidebar Launcher to access the Widget¥'s data. You must ¥"accept¥" to add the widget. Clicking the ¥"Always allow¥" checkbox is recommended, or you will be prompted every time Sidebar Launcher (re)starts, for each widget you have added.
Toddler Mode
To enter ¥"Toddler Mode¥", select the desired category, then go to the settings page and click ¥"Toddler Mode¥". Then click back. Once Toddler Mode is entered, the QuickBar is hidden, the category tabs are disabled, and apps cannot be moved, removed, or uninstalled. To exit Toddler Mode, type the code given at the bottom of the screen.
This allows you to create a special category with toddler-safe apps which your toddler is prevented from exiting.
Note that Toddler Mode is not fool-proof. For example: the status dropdown menu will still be available, any hardware buttons will still function, and the long-press of the ¥"home¥" (circle) key may still bring up Google, etc. If possible, I will make it ¥"safer¥" in the future.
Backups
Backups are kept internal to the app and will be deleted if you uninstall. To save a backup, use the ¥"external backup¥" buttons to copy it to the filesystem.
