Loud and clear is an app designed for people with Parkinson’s Disease to strengthen their voice and restore quality of life through improved communication. Although other voice options exist for people with Parkinson’s, this is the first digital program that is specifically designed to be both affordable and accessible.

Your voice impacts your communication in professional and personal relationships. People with Parkinson’s Disease may not feel a difference in their speech, but they can often have a diminished voice that sounds soft and monotone to listeners. However, with Loud and Clear’s training that targets increasing a person’s vocal effort, a person with Parkinson’s can regain their volume and natural melody of speech.

Loud and Clear occurs in about 15-minute sessions designed to help the user recalibrate his or her voice. Loud and Clear utilizes the microphone in your phone or tablet and provides real-time visual feedback of how loudly you’re speaking. The program moves the user through voice warm-ups and then a variety of speech exercises to practice their recalibrated voice. This portion includes varying exercises and levels of difficulty to keep the process lively and engaging.
