Here's what you have to understand if you're choosing Sling as a TV alternative; you're on the cutting edge of technology for TV viewing. A very slim percentage of consumers are cutting the cord. Sling offers a product that supports this effort. I have had my issues with Sling, but the technical staff has always responded, and Sling is continuously trying to improve this product. If you're having streaming issues, there are several things you can do with your home network to improve the overall experience. However, this is still a new and upcoming technology. It has bugs and glitches that need fixed. Sling is trying to correct these issues, and in many cases it already has. I gave Sling 5 stars because this product has allowed me to cut the cord from DirecTV. With this product and a few others, I'm saving just over $100 a month. If you're interested in saving money, and sitting on the cutting edge of TV viewing experience, this product is for you. There will be hiccups, but it's getting better. To Sling- Nice work, SO FAR. You know the bugs and hear the feedback. Keep improving.

Only using for 2 days and LOVE it ---- except for 2 or 3 cable channels has everything I need ... My cable bill is over $150 a month with about a dozen channels I watch, and 75 channels if crap, not to mention the DOZENS of stupid infomercial channels !
I don't subscribe to ANY of the movie ad on channels so the amount of movies through Sling is equal to what I'm getting now --- for $130 less per month.
****** I'm having no problems at all with the latest version, in fact, I'm surprised how well it works on my iPhone 6 .... Gorgeous picture ... ESPN sports crystal clear ... When I signed up they said more channels were going to be added and the next day 2 more showed up ...
I have no idea what the whiners are complaining about : get a grip ... It's brand new and anything like this is going to have a glitch or two ... How long ( as in YEARS !) did it take your little cable company to get to where you weren't calling customer support every other week ?

Ok here is a review for all the negative reviewers. The first thing you entitled people need to understand is that slingtv is not perfect and that it is just another option and for some a better option. Listen, I am at the point in my life ( mid forties) where I don't care about TV anymore. I, like you was tired of getting ripped off by cable. I appreciate that I have this option when I do want to sit down and watch something and I will say there is a pretty good selection with exception of Viceland channel that I wish would go away. Anyway, if you have a big problem with Sling, look at yourself, your probably the problem, your not understanding, and your selfish and greedy. Go throw your temper tantrum in your bedroom not on the review page. Perhaps you really weren't ready to cut the cord. Just go back to cable so that you can continue to be owned with a smile.

I used to have direct tv, and it was ok until the 2nd year came around and the price went up a lot!!! Between that and adding some channels that didn't come with my plan, the bill was around $60! Eventually I had the cancel because I couldn't afford it, but then I found you guys! And everything about you is great! No contract, no extra fees, no rental equipment.
When I first saw it, I thought it was too good to be true! There's only 3 things that don't make you the perfect tv provider. 1. You don't have local channels. 2. Apps like "Watch Disney Channel" or "Cartoon Network" don't have you as a provider on the list. 3. Disney XD keeps putting the same commercials except during prime time. But other than these things, you guys a really an awesome provider!!! Hands down the best ever!!! I will recommend you to everyone I know!!!

This is an amazing idea that has been functioning perfectly for me for a week now. It works flawless in my Roku 2, Roku stick, MacBook, iPad and iPhone. No issues at all with any of those devices and streaming has always produced great quality resolution. The only thing that was holding me back with ditching cable has been the inability to watch sports, until now. With ESPN and ESPN 2 on board and with the addition of the other ESPN channels with the sports plus package, this is an amazing product. Also just found out the have added AMC as well and this is only the first day of the real release. I'm impressed and will continue to use this. I've been without cable since starting my sling TV trial a week ago and have not missed it one bit. Excellent start to an amazing idea and product.

People! You have to sign up for SlingTV service or else the app will not work!!! Once you do (sign up couldn't have been easier btw...) it works GREAT! First understand what it is and is not. I don't watch TV that much. I don't pay for cable. I have one TV so only one stream is fine for me. Remember, dish Network is going WAY out on a limb and this flies in the face of all cable companies. My guess is the reason we have these channels is because they want to see if they can make more money providing ala cart vice being tied to cable companies. This service is the first step in wrestling TV you want from the companies that make more giving what you don't want. Cable TV is like the water company making you pay for soda, sparkling, ice tea, beer, and wine when you just want water...

Some of the reviews on here cautioned that it may not be a great app, with lots of bugs and peculiar crashes. In my admittedly small amount of time with Sling, I can say many of those poor reviews were misleading. I think the app is great! Streaming performance over LTE has been very solid if not spectacular. However, I am not saying the app is perfect. For one thing, it isn't formatted at all for iPhone 6 (especially 6 Plus!) but that doesn't make it unusable. It just appears a little wonky and extra large. This relates only to the Sling menus and overlay, as the actual TV video from channels appear fine. Overall if you are interested in picking up ESPN and AMC and the others for a low price, this app won't stand in your way.

I have had SlingTV for probably a year or so now and I love it. I have not used the app on my phone, only my Roku. I don't understand where these negative comments are coming from. I've never had any issues. Anytime I have a question or comment, I post on the FaceBook page and they respond VERY quickly and are pretty helpful. Every now and then I have an issue with lagging but I blame my crappy internet for that. My biggest complaint is not being able to stream more than one device without paying extra. My smallest complaint is they keep changing how the guide works. I'd like to browse what's on without the current channel being interrupted. I don't know why they keep changing that.

I've been thrilled with slingTV in the past 2 weeks that I've been a subscriber. I can watch live tv on my phone anywhere I go, which is pretty amazing, and I don't have to be stuck with a crazy contract like cable or satellite. Now I can sit at the laundromat, doctors office, or my lunch break at work and relax with my own tv. I don't think this could fit my needs or my life better. I'm not sure with all the negative reviews...I'm not sure what expectations are out there, but apparently they are expecting the moon. Besides, I was looking at cable and satellite services that offer 200 channels of mostly garbage, so this is really the best. I'm just super happy with it!

I feel like i have to write this because of all the terrible reviews. Have had absolutely zero issues running this app on both my ipad and macbook. Watched multiple channels, different times of the day, for different periods of time and no issues. Just remember that you're streaming live tv, so don't even try it if you don't have the bandwidth to support that wherever you are streaming from (cellular) or if you have a bunch of people/devices using your wifi. This is not the same idea as Netflix, you are not downloading the broadcast, it is live. Don't be ignorant and it is a great app.

I just installed my brand new Roku streaming stick. I have a VIEWSONIC tv. Not sure the model. I have AT&T "Max" wireless internet. I live in Chicago. The Windy City. I then entered my trial week of sling tv. So far no problems. NONE. I see they rolled out some new UI/UX SYSTEM (whatever that means) but it's flawless so far?!?! I'll update later......all channels work, seems compatable. I won't give 5 stars yet. ----update----

2 weeks later....still great! On my Roku stick I still get channels. I'm hoping to update again. Just enough channels since cutting Cable. Still love it.

Sling TV is my new favorite entertainment app. Not only do I get my live TV (hello Monday Night Football and Walking Dead) but the thing I use the most is watching shows on demand that have aired in the past few days. Brilliant! No more "there's nothing good on TV". We got the $5 movie pack and do the same with movies on demand. Now that Sling has Chromecast, this app is amazing. It's not perfect, I've crashed some but so does Pinterest which I also use daily as do other apps from time to time. It's totally worth it!

I don't know where all of these negative reviews are coming from. I have had a near flawless experience when using this app with my Roku stick. At first tree were several channels with sounds issues (too low) this seems to have recently been fixed on 99% of the channels. This service will only be as reliable as your internet. I picked up the sports package so now I can watch all of the KENTUCKY games. Go BBN! I highly recommend this service. My bill is down from $175 to $25 a month! So happy!

We cut the cord years ago but I always missed a few channels like ESPN and TNT. Never going to pay $80/month to get the package they are included with plus more rent charges for boxes to make them work and finally $25 or more in taxes and fees. Sling brings everything I need to my Roku, Chromecast, as well army mobile devices. I do have a very solid internet connection like 50megs+ so if you are going to complain make sure you ISP can support it before you blame Sling

I'll be moving into my first apartment soon. And I was thinking about getting cable, but I work up to 50 hours a week and I don't watch much TV besides sports. This service is great because it gives me access to ESPN, AMC and a few other channel I watch, without all the other fluff and at a great price. This with the combination of Netflixs I more than satisfied. And to think I was about to sign up for 150$ worth of cable I wasn't going to watch.

I've had them since the invite stage and nothing hit great things to say! Love the no contract, ability to change plans instantaneously and with ease! Keep it going!

20$ a month to give my kid Disney channel without a contract. I wish I had heard about this sooner. I have it on all my tvs, and iPhone and iPad.

I have been waiting for Sling TV all my life. I love this concept. I only wish it was on my AppleTV and then it would be perfect.

Extremely happy customer, I benefit because 90% of what I watch is this channel lineup. Excellent quality and value!
