Froze on an update to my ipad 2 and has been rendered mercifully unusable. This latest botch in a long line of botches produced by the criminally incompetent has brought joy to my heart as I can no longer be tempted into the land of optimism that this awful app may be worth more than Greece. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen (I sincerely hope not). My only fervent wish past this point is that the people responsible for commissioning, producing, buying, testing, releasing, approving and not resolving past issues all get sacked and are forced by law to declare that they were involved in this app on every job application going forward. That way the next chicken farmer advertising for someone to clean up the droppings won't be surprised at the rush of geeky buck toothed pony tailed applicants.

I've had this app since it came out and have never had an issue with it. The search facility works great & everything I've ever played on it has played without issue.
I really don't understand the bad reviews at all.....if you have a half decent internet connection, a decent wifi signal & your software is up to date (after all, you can't blame the developers of this app for things that you control right?) you shouldn't have any problems with this app at all.

I will actually start watching Channel 4 again thanks to this update with AirPlay.

The app is more responsive and a lot of the bugs have been fixed making the app feel much slicker. Speed could be better, but this is a quantum leap from what was there before.

A few of the graphics and UI could be worked on, the settings and menu options should be hidden away and search could be in a better location (and could be generally better and more contextual).

Now with AirPlay - a great app, have never had any problems with it at all. I would suggest maybe some of the issues others are experiencing are due to having other issues with their setup and/or phone. Adverts are obviously necessary and are never, ever longer than you would get watching on the TV, (despite what you may think... If you doubt me, try timing it) and often the longer you watch the less ads you get. A* - well done Channel 4!

I'm really confused why there's so many bad reviews on this app. Yes, there are ads during shows but for the quality of the app you cannot complain. It's easy to navigate, has insanely useful features like downloading shows to watch offline and shows a variety of shows from all 4 channels which I love to watch. It's a useful app to have on your phone/iPad for when you want to watch a little catchup T.V

It's surprising to see so many negative reviews, I can only imagine reviews were for a previous version possibly but I find the All4 app is so easy to use and find content, video displays in HD where shows are recorded in HD and most importantly for me the app has Google Cast built in so I can stream to my TV with my Google Chrome cast! Great work channel 4!

This app is awesome, it's just like watching TV! The adverts aren't that often, just one 3-4 minute adverts every 15-20 minutes, just like you get on TV, and sometimes a break is the thing you need. It works great, no interruptions and it's all for free! Would definitely recommend installing it!

Much, much improved. Wonderful to be able to watch live channels, especially my favourite Film 4. Streaming on iPad 2 (iOS 8.2) is very smooth. Minimal ads compared to ITV's app. Good to read that subtitling options are being worked on. Excellent job by those involved in this update.

All 4 is a great app, it lets you watch live, catch up and watch on demand! It is really good because it provides box sets which you can watch for no charge. This app is free and so is everything in it! There are age restrictions on thing for under 16,18 etc. Defiantly get this app!

To the people who are saying that why is there adverts in it its stupid like cause TV company's don't make programs for nothing plus the cost of keeping the app up to date like its a business get in the real world their aim is to make money for profit and to pay their overheads.

People always put the negatives but never the positives i love this app it has all the programs and series i like to watch and lets me download them so i can watch them anywhere the only thing that would make this app better is if it would let you chromecast what your watching

Really interesting when i read the reviews a year after i downloaded this app as ive never had any issues with it. Of course you get adverts, its the tv channel on the internet, they make money from it. So what. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about it.

Thank Channel 4 for adding AirPlay support, this app is now genuinely useful.
How about now adding it to the Sony Bravie TVs?

EDIT- also the ads, come on everyone they've got to raise revenue somehow, but they do glitch and repeat occasionally.

Because of the poor reviews, I downloaded this app to my iPad with very low expectations. Like another reviewer, I don't normally bother to rate apps, but I've now watched two programmes with no hiccups, stops or buffering... Fingers crossed!

In 2012, I requested subtitles for accessible for deaf and hard of hearing people around Britain... Now, in 2015!! Still ignore us?!? And you built new "All 4" app without add subtitles?? Unbelievable!!

This is a really good app that you can use to catch up on your TV shows and I think it's a really good app and I've had this since it came out and I've loved using it and it's never let me down so I'm giving this app 5 star rating thanks

I use this app daily. Love catching up on stuff I've missed but best of all saves me a fortune in DVDs for the old classics like Father Ted, The IT Crowd etc. Always download a few episodes whilst on wifi for on my travels too.

Don't know why it's not working for others.

Works perfectly on iphone6, casted to chrome cast. HD quality, no streaming issues (and my internet isn't even good... I live in the middle of no where!)

I've read these reviews and most of them are bad but for me all 4 is a great app and it works perfectly. Also I can watch all the great shows on the app. So thank you all 4 for the app.

I can't understand why this only has 2 *. It's great, & far better than most. Loads of content + watch live. Seamless playback, easy to stream to tv with chomecast, pause rewind etc.
