I'm constantly listening to music while I work, drive, run errands, work out... no matter what I'm doing, I have a soundtrack playing in the background. I used to listen to Pandora all the time. I liked that I could hear stuff outside of my personal music collection and discover new music. However, I always hated the fact that it would time-out if I didn't continuously rate the songs that I was listening to and the advertisements were really starting to become more intrusive and there were more and more of them... seemed like they were running adverts every fourth song... and so many of the were so bad!!! But I dealt with it because, well I was listening to music for free. Couldn't really complain. Until I heard about iHeart Radio. I n
Had never heard of it before, although it seems to have around for a while. I decided to give it a shot. First online through their website and now through their iPhone and iPad apps. I love it! It's got all the same features that Pandora has like being able to setup your own stations, rate or skip songs and artist bios, but without the annoying time-outs or the incessant adverts. iHeart does have advertisements, but they are a lot less intrusive... mostly running in the background wallpaper of the app or website or when you change your station. I give the iHeart service and app two very big thumbs up!!!

Ok first off I'm not one to rate apps or review I'm too lazy. But this one app made me so happy it deserves it, it's BETTER than Pandora in way too many ways. 1) Not only more skips but they reload not per hour per SONG, that means if I run out of skips I can listen to one song and that earns me another instant skip. 2) Skips aren't controlled per hour but per STATION, so if you run out of skips for one station just make a new one :D. 3) it's easier to find a specific song with the search tool bit if you can't find it just check the various possible stations you can make for the artist that sings the song you are looking for. 4) You get to chose the settings on upcoming songs, there TWO options one for related and one that is a little less lenient that helps you discover new music or artists that you would have not discovered if you stuck to the same things (Pandora doesn't offer this . 5) It looks nicer and it has nice comments when you like a song or when you run out of skips it's not something that affects it much but it's nice to read something polite instead of you ran out of skips for a whole hour on the entire app so deal with it. 6) I feel iHeartRadio really finds music that you like related to your specific tastes.

I've had this iheartradio app on my phone since its release and use it a few times a week to listen to local a.m. talk radio but never used it for music until this past week.
I hit the 40 hour max of free streaming tunes on Pandora a week ago, so I thought I'd give iheartradio a try at music. This is three times better than Pandora. 1) No commercials on custom stations. I repeat, i haven't heard a commercial in a week of use. 2) Allows me to listen to almost any live radio station. Rock n roll, sports, newstalk, you name it. 3) Better user control. It has a dial for more or less familiar music to mix in. Allows me to navigate back & forth along an audio track (eg skip straight to one min mark or back). Allows you to skip to the next song without a commercial.
And it does what Pandora does too, adjusting the music mix by what the user gives a thumbs up or down to. It really learns your audio taste.

I dig this app. I'm just sorry I wasn't using it for all it does before I ran up 40 hours on Pandora in under three weeks. Had Pandora not limited my free play time, I'd never have tried to use iheartradio for more than getting my local talk radio station. The tunes are great! Thanks iHeart team!!!

It could be clearer on favorites at times I think it deletes one when I add new ones as well as the need to either add an EQ to allow adjustments for sound or allow the eq apps that can be downloaded work with or stream through them either one would help out this above any other app. Minus a few connection issues at times the variety of live stations plus getting to choose artist specific is a great combination. No live stations was a drawback with pandora. And recently my favorite local radio station changed from playing new songs before anyone else to a terrible "old school" hip hop which does not play the good old songs just the bad ones, then I lost my morning show when the other station changed program directors and created another local show that was more talk about their boring personal lives and rarely music and not entertaining. So this app gives me back my morning show plus access to stations that play new music that I want. Recommend for anyone frustrated at local programming especially if you have the ability to link and plus through your phone to the car.

Great release for a version 1.0 app. No issues crashing at all here. Song title, album art, and lyrics; how can you lose? The only thing I could ask is the stations to buffer ahead more to help counteract the variations in the data network when driving and moving about. The sound quality is good, and it has KIIS, KFI and Smooth Jazz. Smooth Jazz isn't 94.7 The Wave, even though they also call the station "Smooth Jazz." Not a Clear Channel station so we won't be seeing it in this app unfortunately. The smooth jazz on here is still pretty good though. People, stop rating it down for not including Power 106. Yes, we all like it! But it is not a Clear Channel station (Same situation as The Wave)! So I HIGHLY doubt it will end up in this app. I think people are failing to make the connection between the app dev and the owner of all of the stations it has available to listen to. There are still a lot of good stations, and this is the best internet radio app I have come across yet, and the first one I am satisified with. No more repeat oldies on Pandora.

I haven't had a lot of experiences with other music apps like Pandora, so, when I chose this one, I was very pleased.

It's really great and easy to use. It puts together music that I like, and will throw in some variations that I've never heard of, but are pretty cool. So, I like that it introduces you to new music based upon what you like. I like several different kinds of music, from classical, new age, soft rock, to dance rock, and alternative, and things that never got a lot of radio play. So my tastes are pretty broad. I love that you can make/create stations based upon these different categories, and just let it play.

I'm relatively new to this, only having it for a few months, and I really have nothing bad to say. If you love music, it's consistent and really does tailor the music you like, and the music you didn't even know was out there but you end up loving, because it's all in the same genre.

It's wonderful, and always has a good clear signal, and I love that you can listen to music from anywhere! And that alone makes it worth it! Great app!

I listen to the same several stations throughout the day while I am at work using my Bluetooth headphones. It helps to get me through the day and believe it even makes me more productive. I can focus more, and since I have my headphones on it absolutely deters people from coming to my desk to chat which wastes valuable time for me. I love iheartradio and never ever have any bad data streams at all. It is as smooth as a radio with a 5 star signal. I use both cellular and wifi to listen and cannot remember ever having a problem with a station coming in crystal clear. I just hesitate to give them such high ratings because I don't want them to get comfortable with customer experiences and then slow down with continually making this site better and better. Thank you iheartradio!!! Will always be a listener of it. Thank you. And this is the first rating I've ever even given over the App Store or wherever this comment ends up! Haha.

Well I heart radio gives you a bunch of songs new and old. It brings back hits from the early 2000's and some from the 1990's. It has all most every Artis and it has a bunch of different categories like RnB,Pop, Country, Rap, Hip-Hop, Heavy Metal and more. This app provides you with music that you love. You don't usually get the same song twice unless if your listing to an artist that features on the song that you just listened to. It has a certain amount of skips but to avoid that just switch from one station to the next like for example you go to Jason Derulo radio and you don't like the song that is playing so you switch to the Usher station and then switch back to the Jason Derulo station. It's very complicated in text but it's easier to show you in person. Thanks for reading my review on ❤️

iTunes Radio was recently made part of Apple Music. This was a huge disappointment. I loved it because it was built into the Music app and into iOS directly. I was so disappointed. I decided to look for other apps. I tried Pandora, but I just didn't like it. Too many ads and popups in the app itself and while listening. After that I decided to try iHeartRadio. And it turned out to be absolutely perfect. I love how you can fine tune the station, how there are minimal ads, how I can get local stations, and the fact that it seems to play absolutely flawlessly with no skips over my cell network! The only thing that would make this app perfect would be genre or featured stations like Pandora or Apple Music have, like Pure Pop or Soundsystem. But other than that, I absolutely love this app.

This is how technology SHOULD work. Best music streaming application available. Great selection, brilliant "learning" feature, simple interface, reliable and well thought out. I wish all apps worked as advertised like IHeart. I personally use it during my morning coffee while reading the newspaper ( yes, I read actual newspapers ), then tune in during my daily walk for motivation and at night to wind down and relax to soothing ambient music. I am a fan and hope the development staff doesn't change the formula too much in future revisions. I would like to make one suggestion for consideration...even though it has been done by others, I think it would be great to be able to watch the music videos if available. They sure can be entertaining.

I absolutely love Heart Radio!!! So many channels to choose from. So much of ALL the different types of artists and genres that I love. I'm 58 and I'm from the days of Led Zeppelin, Joe Cocker, Neil Young, Joan Biaz etc...I grew up with my family listening to Country and I remember one day hearing Mario Lanza singing Opera and then there were 3. The 3 Tenors. 50 Cent, Eminem, Vern Gosdin, B.B King, Rhianna, Willie Waylon and the boys! Whatever kind of wonderful wonderful music you want, Whoever it is you want making it and Whenever it is you want to listen to it, THEY ARE ALL in "My Heart Radio" and with NO commercials and with NO debit card. Who dare sayeth, there ain't no gods in the land of Music? Ahhhhhh finally, Heart Radio? I thank thee.

So I have recently been reading the other comments/reviews and they seemed to be repetitive in the fact of the same songs playing over and over again. Um this is iheartRADIO!!! Honestly don't get me wrong I LOVE this app but it's the radio what radio station have you come across that doesn't play the same some at least twice within 1 hour. It's radio it happens on every station it shouldn't surprise you.

On another hand... I LOVE this app because I am able to hear my recent favorite morning time talk show The Kane Show clearly rather than extra 'scratchy' on a different app I had downloaded before this one.

So needless to say people to realize they do listen to the same song than once on any radio station and it isn't just this app!! /endrant

I have had Pandora and Iheart Radio since 09. I originally DL Iheart to listen to the Kane show both live and the replay channel, (Replay the shows all day long) These days I find myself using Iheart all the time as oppose to Add-Pandora. I'm about done with Pandora all altogether 1-2 songs 2-30 second adds! Adds pop up so quick you can't even see the Album cover! But I suppose that's another review so I digress. Iheart will play an add occasionally if you change stations but that's it. I listen to a lot of talk radio shows thanks to the App I have found some new really good talk radio shows as well. The music is good to, a wide selection good variety. It seems to play good in the car to even is spotty areas where service is in and out.

Here's what you need to do:
1. Thumb up Thumb down
If you touch the thumb down option, make the song go away. We obviously didn't want to hear it and probably won't want to hear it ever again. "Oh you don't like this song from this album from this band? Well this next song, we know you're gonna love it. It's the other song from that same band from that same album." That's how you sound iHeart.

2. Limited skips.
Really there are millions, literally millions of songs out there and you limit your app users to what like 5 or 7 skips? That's kind of ridiculous. Stop it.

3. Increase your Genre category.
It's so generic I literally laughed out loud. Can you put someone with more creativity in charge? Please?

I love this app, simply because I can "create" my own radio station playing the artists I want to hear all the time. I can also deselect any songs I don't like. It won't be played anymore after that. Another thing for those that don't know, you can dial up different songs from newer artists so they don't play the same song over again quite as often. It's the little "dial" at the bottom of the screen that looks metallic. Click it and you can choose from three different selections, depending on whether you want the same set of songs, add some new ones occasionally, or a wide mix of songs all the time. Also, people, there is a skip button to click forward if you wish. It's right next to the play button.

I used to use Pandora and iTunes Radio. Pandora had too many ads for my taste and the stations I picked didn't stick to the genre, which bugged me so much. When I choose Panic! At The Disco, I expect P!ATD songs and similar bands, but I end up on the other spectrum. So then I switched to iTunes and loved it - until it wasn't free anymore! I'm definitely not paying for a music app. My friend recommended this since it's ad-free and I've never been happier. Originally I was upset because I couldn't find Years&Years as an artist, but it's on there now and my music is so accurate. I even find new songs by my bands that I love. That's what a music station should be! Thank you so much for this amazing app.

Good stuff and the rest of the day before I get a follow back on my way home from work to be the first half of the day before I go to sleep now and I don't think that I have a great way of the year you can get it right away with the best of the year and I don't think that I have a great day for the next few weeks of a sudden it was the best of the year of high quality of life and death and destruction I love it the same thing as too many long as to what is you have no a great way to the game is the on my iPhone is to make it the same thing over and over the last few two weeks after of a sudden urge it would mean so so much better for me to and the best rest other day of I

I think this app is much better than Pandora, and brings back lots of old songs while still playing all of the new ones. I mostly listen to country and pop, so I like a variety of music. I don't usually like to listen to one station over the others so I usually pick the favorites station. The favorites station is just a station of all of your favorite stations that is uses all of the music on all of your stations at once. I haven't upgraded iheartradio at all and find very little adds anymore. The only complaint I have about iheartradio is that you get a limited number of skips. Overall it's an amazing app and defiantly is the one that gets the most use on my phone.

Really love this app! I can listen to my favourite radio station, and listen to my friend's favourite station, even if we live miles, or even countries apart!

The only things I could complain about is how sometimes it doesn't load quickly... I don't know why, I can be at home with only my phone using the wifi and it runs slowly/by the time I like a song it switches to the next? Idk...

Also, I like the old thumbs up/down buttons... They were larger and not next to each other, which makes it difficult to like/dislike things, I'm always afraid I'll press the wrong one ^_^;

But anyway, those are minor details compared to the rest of the app, which is awesome!

Works great on both cell and wifi. Awesome app. The new capability to merge favorites into one personal station of somewhat different genres is awesome. Use this daily while running, at the gym on subway and in car. Understand your ability to skip is limited to enable this to be free - but do wish there was a 2-3 day freeby to skip all you want just to be able fine tune your personal station. Most of the time it's in an armband while working out or running and therefore no focus spent on thumbs up or down during those peak use times. One issue as others have mentioned that is very frustrating as it seems to sometimes forget songs you've already thumbed up.
