I very rarely write reviews on the App Store but this has been something I've been waiting for long before the iPad was even announced. The ability to have a leading UK newspaper downloaded to a digital device for me to read on the tube is something I've always wanted and after the launch of the iPad in the US, I thought that this was unlikely to happen (due to their being no newspapers within the official iBooks system).

My dream for the iPad - ★★★★★

Another version with bugs fixed but still the basic functionality is flawed. It checks for new editions every 30 minutes, and then will only let you read a previous edition once you have downloaded it. This is frustrating when you have the iPad on a train or plane. I had all the parts of the Sunday Times ready to read on a plane journey, but I could not access them as there has been an update. It is a bit like saying that I bought a copy of the paper at 8 am and want to read it at lunchtime......I would not go out to the shop to get a new version. I just want to read the paper. I am not really bother if it has been updated. But instead, I now spend longer administering the last few days worth of the paper, downloading all the updates one edition at a time, than I actually spend reading the paper.

Rubbish still - come on Times -sort it out. - ★★★★★

This is a superb newspaper app: easy to download, easy to navigate, easy to read (you can adjust type size). There are continuous updates throughout the day and you can peruse previous issues or save a particularly interesting article. All features such as Times2, the Register, etc are here plus you can download special interest subjects such as law or books or arts. Best of all, this is the primary edition, published in England and Wales. If you are unfortunate like me to live in Scotland, it's great to be able to read the online version when otherwise the only Times available in Scotland is a highly modified parochial version with a different editor and a disgusting myopic Scots nationalist provincial outlook. If anybody's interested, you can access the Scot edition.
