This app could use a bit of polish, but does a terrific job of bringing the wonderful gameplay of the board game to iOS.

Many other reviewers don't seem to understand how the solo game works. In that version there is no AI. The computer starts with a deck of random cards from the pool of Free Agents and they are played randomly one-by-one. The different difficulty levels just determine how many buy rounds you get before the World Series begins. The computer deck is very powerful because it has no starter team cards in it, but you can overcome your disadvantage by making smart purchases (particularly during the series after you see what the computer deck has in it that needs to be countered).

The game will only get better with expansions and is a steal despite its workmanlike user interface and current lack of online multiplayer. Don't judge this book by its cover or for what you want it to be instead of what it really is. You'll miss out on a great port of one of the best board games out there.

I don't if some of the other reviewers don't own the original game or don't know how to read, but as an owner who does know how to read, I can tell you that the solo mode implemented here is identical to the cardboard version. It plays exactly as intended: a the opponent gets a fixed deck of free agents and the player is always the visiting team. This is not an AI, just like the cardboard version.

As for my review, I love this game. Could the UI use some polish? Perhaps, but it doesn't bother me at all. I've played at least a dozen games and it's worked flawlessly for me.

The developer has said an iPhone version is coming as well as an actual AI. Online multiplayer would be a nice addition as well. I look forward to future updates.

Really great deck builder to play on iOS. Polish is actually really bad though. Looks like it's done by a single person with only readily available artwork. Not implying it's poorly made though, I can actually find no bugs to speak of and the tutorial gets you playing quickly. It's very fun to play and can be very challenging as a solo game. Well worth the money in game play and it sounds like all the expansions are in the works so there will be plenty more life in this game.

Just hoping for a little interface and art cleanup so it doesn't look quite as low quality. Still an easy buy at this price.

This app faithfully replicates the top notch board game and puts it in portable form! With the expansions to come this will only improve over time. As others have noted, there is no AI in the solo mode - your are playing against all stars, so you need to ramp up your team and play exceedingly well in order to win. I do look forward to true 2 player play without having to pass it back and forth and to real AI play (although the current solo mode is a lot of fun!). This is the most fun app I have and is a very solid game to play while committing or traveling.

I am really having a blast with this game! It's simple enough to jump right in, but offers a lot more the more you play and understand some strategy. Highly recommended!
The only issue I have is a minor one. When prompted to double-tap on the "scoreboard" screen, it's very glitchy or just doesn't want to work at all. Please, someone fix this! Otherwise, no complaints.

Although it lacks a few fancy bells and whistles, the app is an excellent of implementation of a fantastic board game!
