I absolutely love this app and I have waited more than a decade for HBO to offer a standalone subscription.

The suggestion I have is to add an "auto-play" type feature similar to Netflix's Post-Play that will auto start the next episode of a series, unless I select not to or select to start the next episode immediately. The current presentation is very nice despite this small annoyance to my otherwise lazy viewing experience.

Thank you for finally offering standalone subscriptions, HBO.

I agree, it's a bit pricey but the lineup of movies is nice so far. I think HBO is smart doing this and hope other cable premium services follow.
I myself don't plan on watching most of the series episodes, many are hard R or soft porn. Would like an auto edit of these types of shows, better parental controls. I don't mind it being Apple only. Just get an Apple TV. But so far it works fine... Thanks HBO. Will have to see if I am willing to keep up with the price later.

I really don't understand these complaints and low ratings. On my Apple TV the picture is great and plays without buffering, stuttering or other issues. If it did, I'm smart enough to know it's my internet, not the app.
It works perfectly on my iPhone and iPad as well. I get all the HBO content I want on demand, the only time I have issues is on the go when signal strength comes and goes. Again, not the app's fault, I don't think most of the other reviewers realize that.

I'm not sure what all the crying is about. I've been using HBOGo for well over a year now... And it's been flawless! Unless the HBO Now app just recently got updated, I'm not sure why the rating is so low and there's so many negative comments. HBOGo and HBO Now are identical from my device. I've had a cable subscription until recently, so I will be going to "now" since I no longer want to pay more through the cable company. The app is perfect.

I thought I'd give it a chance for a month trial after reading some bad reviews, but I've had no problems what so ever so far. Works like Netflix, easy to navigate and the shows are available as soon as they air. I cancelled my cable at TW and kept the basic package. I'm saving about 80 bucks a month now. Also downgraded my internet to 15 Mbps and it works great. Anyhow it works on my Apple TV and iPad Air 2 really well. A big recommend from me.

I also don’t understand the lack of love for this app. The audio only streams are infrequent for me and seemingly because of bad wi fi. Outside of minor issues of how it displays the show descriptions on my watchlist on an iPhone I have few complaints. On an Apple TV it works perfectly. I’ve never paid for cable (and probably never will) but have always wanted HBO. For me HBO’s content makes this a must have.

It took a couple of days to work out some of the bugs but it is working great. As with any new launch it will take a little bit to get perfected, but I would much rather work with this app through its development than continue to pay a cable company for 100 channels of infomercials and reality television that I don't watch in order to get HBO. Overall I am very happy and have more spending money every month!!

I'm here to leave a good review because I use this app every single day and never have any issues with my streaming. I have noticed 1 issue with the history on where you leave off in a show, sometimes it doesn't register or something, and you lose the place where you left off, besides that it's fantastic to me and I'm giving 5 stars anyways because I feel the reviews are very unfair imo

I downloaded the app two days ago, and, so far it works great on my iPhone 5 and my iPad mini. I had a problem with closed captioning staying on with my iPhone, but it turned out to be an IOS 8 problem. Go into Settings, General, Accessibility, Subtitles and Captioning and turn Closed Captions +SDH off. Then you should be able to turn closed captioning on and off from the app.

Options, Options, Options. Here I am in McDonalds on the road taking a break, sipping a cold drink. I can watch boxing, stand up comedy, documentaries tons of great series. I can also watch whatever I want on my iPad while someone else uses the tv at home and with head phones I have tons of quality content. It is also great on Apple TV. Very pleased cord cutter here!

I have been using HBO Now as long as it has been available and LOVE it. I rarely have any issues with the sound or video streaming and always use wireless internet. The few times I have had issues were due to my internet connection/weather, not the app itself. To anyone who is having issues I would recommend checking with your internet service provider.

The app interface is great and once I subscribed on my iPhone I could watch Game of Thrones on my laptop (which is connected to my TV with an HDMI cable) at the same time the new episode premiered on cable. And HBO was ready for the the incredible volume at 9 PM! It streamed in sharp 1080p right away with no delays or lag! HBO never looked better.

I guess I'm pretty lucky, because contrary to all the other reviews saying it doesn't work, it worked perfectly for me (for the free 1 month I had it).

I basically never write reviews, but I wanted to here so that people know it's not EVERYBODY that had a terrible experience. I got through more than a season of Game of Thrones, and it was great.

I use this app on my iPhone and Xbox and it works great. Upload speeds are great and quality is great. Seems like most people are having trouble who are using chromecast. Maybe the problem is chromecast and not HBO app I don't know. Anyways love this app and definitely recommend it for anything Mac and the Xbox.

I've been looking forward to this for years, so it's great to be able to enjoy the depth and breadth of HBO's content wherever I may be.

Adjusted for inflation, entertainment has never been cheaper than it is today. I just don't relate to those who don't believe in paying a reasonable price for premium content.

Easy to sign up with my apple account. Just watched a movie with perfect playback. Haven't tried to stream a major Sunday night HBO original show release yet, but I'll be using it to watch The Night Of and I expect it's going to have a pretty strong following by the final episode.

I broke with cable TV over 10 years ago and I missed HBO. This app has allowed me to catch up on old favorites and make new ones. I watch at home using wifi and my iPad. I've never had a problem with performance. I have recommended it to friends and family and will continue to do so.

Get to watch the latest shows whenever I want. Don't understand most of the complaints. The service works with a huge bevy of current and fresh content as well as an enormous backlog of amazing stuff. I don't have cable so this service is peanuts in comparison. What is there to dislike?

I have this on my iPad and it works great all day, every day. I cannot believe all the negative reviews about freezing and video/sound syncing problems. None of that has ever happened to me. The app works flawlessly for me. I have super fast internet speeds if that makes any difference.

Initially it told me that I needed to renew my subscription to view content. I had never used this app prior to this. It started working about 3 days later. The app has been very good since then. Playback control is fantastic. Quality is high. I would recommend this to anyone.
