I like the pin sentry system, the two factor authentication (something you know plus something you have) is pretty reliable, and makes me feel safe when I'm using a potentially insecure platform (web browser). The app looks good but I'm a little concerned that they have implemented a 'mobile' version of pin sentry, that doesn't need the card. That's now down to just one factor authentication if my phone gets hacked. I'm glad that you can't add new payees on this app, and I can totally understand the reasons why. Please stop whining about pin sentry. It's there to keep your money safe! You'd be whining far more if you found all your accounts empty one day.

I'd really like to have flexibility to specify minimal use for even better security, e.g. an option to only allow balance checks, (no payments), and make it so that changing the options requires pin sentry again.

This is a great App for the iPhone. Will there be a iPad version available shortly? I contacted mobile banking to be told you can also only use the App on one device so I would be unable to download the iPhone version to my iPad which is such a shame. Could do with more contact numbers for Barclays listed within the App. Another thing that needs changing is when you click on the "call branch" on the branch locator it attempts to dial a 0845 number which needs changing to a more mobile friendly number such as a 03 number which is included in price plans. Would be handy to have some more functions within the App long term, but is a very great start that is already saving me time on having to ring the Barclays automated phone line to find out my balance / account activity. Keep up the good work Barclays hope to see a iPad version soon.

Contrary to the problems faced by some users I have to say this is probably the best app out there! I really do take my hat off to Barclays for producing a well laid-out and functional bit of software.
It allows me to monitor both Barclays accounts and barclaycard accounts simultaneously, making payments, transfers and general account management a doddle.
Some might find it frustrating that new payments can't be created through the app, but I have no issue with this as its a sensible security protocol to stop your accounts being drained if your phone gets nicked.
Other than the rare occasions I need to create new payees I now have no need to turn on the computer as this combined with the apple numbers spreadsheet and the powerone calculator allow me to keep track of finances anywhere anytime!
Well done Barclays, keep it up!

I have been using this app from the beginning and from my experience it just keeps getting more and more functional. Features I felt were lacking early on have since been added, I.e. Naming accounts and many small tweaks. It's unfortunate that some people aren't having the same experience, as it works flawlessly for me. The one feature that would be great would be adding new payees within the app, but I assume that the engineers are trying to figure out a way of making this secure and workable. Well done though, excellent app!

I thought I'd write a review in answer to some of the other reviews on here that seem to have got some information wrong. The PINSentry feature still exists, either from the sign in screen or when logged in.
The word on the sign in screen can be changed - it is your 'greeting' and although it is a security feature, it doesn't require you to remember anything.
I check this app daily and use it to make payments on a regular basis.
All in all, a very useful app!

It was getting really annoying that this app didn't support the iPhone 6 natively and the old design was dating back to the old pre-ios 7 days. Now the design is much nicer, cleaner and more fluid. This is by far the best mobile banking app out there!

The ability to add a picture to your name is rather pointless but I guess it makes some people happy. I would like to see colour differentiation between a positive and negative account balance maybe.

I've been a long time user of the app for what could be a few years now.
Each update always brings new features and alignment with current versions of iOS which I believe is good.
After the latest update I felt compelled to write a review and was surprised to see the amount negative feedback. Certainly my wife (iPhone 5) and I (IPhone 6) use it all the time with no issue and both appreciate how simple and intuitive it is to use.

Finding it so much easier to find the extra functionality in the app like mobile pinsentry and direct call. I log in at least once a day to check my balance on my current account, savings and even check my mortgage balance. So easy to transfer money between accounts, pay bills to existing payees. Hope that soon you will be able to add new payees. Change is great especially if us customers can do more banking conveniently!!

Wish more people had it and knew about it. It's quick, easy and free. Saves going to cash point to check ur balance and u can have all ur accounts listed, not just one!
Would like to have more options on doing things to accounts like deleting accounts , cancelling direct debits ect and making changes so u don't need to ring or go into ur local branch.
More people need to know about this great app tho spread the WORD. :0)

I don't know what some of the bad reviews for this app are about. This app does everything I need it to do and then some!

Being able to check my accounts and move money around quickly is great. Being able to pay my Barclaycard directly within the app is even better. Being able to use my phone as a PINsentry is absolutely brilliant.

It's almost impossible for me to find an issue with this app. Keep up the good work!

Ignore the average review score. This is an outstanding app that gets better and better. New features are added regularly. Now I can finally manage my direct debits in the app - hooray! It's very user-friendly and beautifully designed.

When the day comes I can pay in a cheque with the app and my camera, I will have reached banking Shangri La.

As a member of staff I can't get enough of my mobile banking every update gives a new feature and I can now manage my direct debits as well as my account features, applying for a loan is so easy as well! In the next update I would love to see a standing order feature where I can set up and amend them on the go! Having mobile banking means I can transfer money and make payments on the go I highly recommend it!

I'm going to defend the Barclays app here. I think the personal greeting is a great idea as you know that your connection isn't being compromised. The app has brilliant flat design and new features such as the ability to rename your accounts so you can tell which is which at a glance. Clear icons make it easy to see incoming and outgoing transactions. All in all a brilliant and very handy app.

Great app to be able to view your view your bank accounts where ever you in seconds. I can pay my barclaycard through the app & if I notice something on my account I can use the call us function to get through to some one in seconds. No long queues and not needing to in out loads of digits to speak to someone. Fantastic app you must download it, it's better than online banking in my eyes. X

Everything seems to fit exactly where it's supposed to be. The whole app is simple, clear and very efficient to get around. In the past 4 years I've only written 3 reviews and so you know I'm being truthful about this app(little of course :) . Download this as its a time saver and has a very useful branch locator that is vital if you are in unfamiliar areas and are in need of a bank.

It goes to show you can't trust reviews on the App Store. This is a fantastic app, allows you to have complete control over your finances at all times.
Been using it for over a year now and it's never let me down. Which is extremely rare in my experience. Well done Barclays, couldn't imagine going back to not having this kind of thing.

I have no idea why so many people have written so many bad reviews. I love this app it has made my personalised banking so much easier. I can easily transfer money between my 4 accounts - current, credit, savings and joint. It's very easy to pay off credit card and check cash flow. I couldn't recommend this app more strongly. Way ahead of other mobile banking apps

By far the best banking app. I have access to three other banking apps and this is streets ahead. Not sure I like the new account view but functionally this is very advanced. I applied for a £10,000 loan, had it approved, had the money in my account in just 4 minutes. I did this on the train! Incredible.

I hold a Personal and Business account and the recent updates make this app an essential part of my business where I pay all my staff and now I can delete a direct debit w/o going to the full online page and also check on the progress of my mortgage.

Very simple to use with easy menus etc. It takes me minutes to pay bills or make payments to a regular person. Free balance texts. Plus Barclays actually listen to their customers' opinions and frequently improve the app following our suggestions. Utterly fabulous making banking as easy as 123.
