Sound NOT a problem here!
We have had the app for almost a week now and have had no problems with the app. We have played the app beginning to end and all over the place with no issues popping up. No sound issue or freeze issue.
If you are having sound problems turn the ringer on or sound up on your device before playing game. If that does not help go to the sound settings for the game under settings...then sounds...then click the app...then turn sound on.
My 3 year old loves trying to become a pirate ;) she loves pirate rock, sailing the pirate ship, and finding the hidden objects. Then she gets to get gold dablums after each task she finishes. There is even a pirate school certificate at the end the littles can decorate then print out! Awesome! ;)

The kids have had a lot of fun with this one! The app is very polished and enjoyable to watch As well as play. I have installed it on each of my iPads (gen 1, 2 & 3) and it works fine on all three models.

To the other reviewers with the sound issue... Try toggling your screen lock switch off. The sound works fine but with some apps it still acts under the original function of the button, which is a mute switch. For some apps it will keep act as a screen lock for others a mute switch, in this case it mutes the app. If this does work then give the app the rating it deserves rather than a rating based on your own lapse in device knowledge.

I think this could be the best app for children ever. I got this game for my little brother and he loves it. The game also got him into the television show Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I have had no problem with the apps sound or anything. And I have had the app for a possible three or four months now on my iPod. This game is also on my mom and dads kindles. Those devices have had no problems with the sound either. This should be rated best children app of the century.

Read the reviews and was kinda shocked. The sound in this game works perfectly… but here's a hint- if you turn off the ringer on your phone, you MUST turn it back on before playing the game again for the sound to play!

Great game, lots of fun for my 4-year old and plenty of great educational elements! Adding her picture in to the avatar is a GREAT feature.

Her favorite is the pixie class (of course) and the music class… rocking out with Sharky and Bones!

My 2 and 3 yr old daughters absolutely love this game. It took both of them no time to learn how to play and it actually keeps them entertained for a while, (which is nearly impossible for anything or anybody to do). 2 min max and they're both on to the next best thing...but not with Jake!!! Fortunately, we've never had any problems with the app crashing either! I highly recommend this app to every parent with small kiddos!

My 3year old has not stopped playing this game! I downloaded it two days ago & he has literally played it for hours! The games are fun & interactive. If your kids like Jake & the Pirates this is a wonderful app for them. I had fun playing with him too! Lots of activities. Lots of opportunity to see progress. Uses hand & motor skills + math, music & reading. Totally worth it + it's free!!

My 3 year old daughter absolutely loves this app! She has so much fun playing the games! It's very kid-user friendly!! There are challenges for her, but she figures them out.

I love this game. I get to drive Bucky which is super cool. I get to be "Jake" and that's fun! I'm 4 years old and my mom is typing this for me.

Great game so the little ones can pass the pass and educational.

It's grate for my little brother and sister
