Before writing this, I took the liberty to read other users reviews--which are rather low--and I completely agree with most. This app does have an excess amount of ads & covers some dumb things. However, this being a news app, it's purpose is to inform readers on news worthy topics. That I believe it does very well. If covers every major event the occurs, as well as tracks the events and revises/adds on to previous articles written which gives the article almost a feel the that the review is an ongoing conversation. That I believe is above and beyond its purpose, so I rate it very highly

I'm running the app on an iPhone 6 and the interface runs smooth and fast. It's very easy to navigate through news categories by either tapping the top left menu bar icon, or by swiping across the screen while navigating a news category section. Swiping, left or right, across the screen while navigating a selected story, will take you to the next or previous story in the category. The app booted up in 3 seconds when first opened, and immediately if previously opened and not closed. The ads are really not that bad it's not different than ads on other news apps.

CNN has been my primary 'go to' news source for years and I am very pleased with your online site. Unlike one complainer, I am grateful for the combination of written articles as well as video clips. I check in at least twice daily and feel like I am staying on top of pertinent news. I am befuddled by the very negative as well as silly criticisms offered by a number of folks. Some people will never be pleased. As for commercials, who does like them? They are simply a fact of life. Thank you, CNN for continuing to provide quality news coverage.

CNN is my first choice for news and information; the app I read when I wake up and the last I check before I go to bed. I find the content is thorough and balanced, with all sides represented by CNN reporters and guests.
Today, however, I have been besieged by pop-up videos from Toyota which supposedly last 2 seconds. I let one play after closing out at least 20 in about 30 minutes. It goes to 0:00 just fine and then just stays on the screen until I physically close it. GET RID OF THESE ADS! They will cost you many loyal users!

For what I want in a news app this totally fits the bill. I get brief glimpses of what goes on in the world, I get facts, I get opinions ( I am able to tell the difference and feel perfectly capable of agreeing or disagreeing -- that is the nature of news media). If I want more in depth information there are so many sources these days, I will go elsewhere as needed. After all news apps such as this aren't meant to be comprehensive, they are meant to give a comprehensive overview--a subtle but important distinction.

I love this app. Amazed at the many complaints people have - do they really think a free app is going to come without ads??? I rely on this app for updated news, notifications of important news events (yes, sometimes you get a notification before the story is even posted - I'd rather get the update sooner rather than later, thanks CNN), and the occasional random story. I like the mix of written and video content - there are times I want to read and times I want to watch. All in all 5 stars.

CNN is a great app. It provides barely true information for the general American public and shines all the light on my campaign. Not that I will reveal my identity, but out of all the presidential candidates, my hands are the biggest, and my wall will be the best. Many people who rely on CNN no longer believe Bernie Sanders is still running, and Hillary Clinton is no longer trustworthy. Thank you, CNN, for giving the American people ignorance, and God bless your sinning souls.

I think CNN is one of the most important influences for democracy that there is. In my opinion, CNN brought down the Berlin Wall, not Gorbachev. CNN showed people living in authoritarian-based governments what their lives could be like with a different form of government. CNN and Facebook and Twitter led the way to the Arab spring. Whenever anything happens around the world, I know I can go to CNN and the coverage will be there. It is an essential part of life as I know it.

To coin a phrase the reporting really is "Fair and balanced". I like CNN Money I check the futures each morning along with the 5 things you need to know for today.

Was sad the comment section was taken down, however, I understand considering the level of discourse I've seen over the years. The reporting and editorial is usually prescient and like the mix of stories that are displayed. The app works well on my iPhone 6 plus and appreciate the service CNN provides.

Unlike other major news sites, your app lets people around the globe watch extracts of news programs and also videos without any copyright issues for at least Japan where I live.
One issue I have is that it is not possible to view images separately from the text, and can hardly enlarge both text and images.
Hope you can fix that in the future as more and more people with deteriorating (from smartphone browsing vision).will be having problems enjoying your contents.

This app is absolutely satisfying ! Not only does it update me on world news it also gives me the option to switch categories such as entertainment , politics , justice , living , health , sports etc..

This app is filled with tons of articles , videos , tv shows & live tv ! You can also save your favorite stories or share them with your friends or family by simple clicking the share button .

The reviewers complaining about ads are being ridiculous. Someone has to pay the salaries of a network's employees. If you don't want ads, then plan to pay for access. News organizations are not non-profits. I don't think the ads on this app are as obnoxious as ABCNews' app where it is easy to accidentally click on ads or mistake paid sponsorships for news. That is inappropriate, and they are blurring the line between their content and others.

Very comprehensive, full of varied content, easy to navigate.
For the person who complained that he can't receive the information without a cable subscription, CNN stands for Cable News Network. It started that way in the 70s, and still is attached to cable. Sorry bud, but until the cable industry go through a drastic change and is a non-issue, we will have to get CNN through cable. Cord cutters will have to get their news a different route.

They seem to have figured out the perfect amount of notifications to send (which is always my concern with apps like these, I hate getting a million notifications that I don't care about). Whenever there's something big, you get a notification, (I've never gotten more than 3 in a day...and that was s big news day) and when you open the app you have all the latest news at your fingertips. Very easy to use too.

CNN never fails to give out the latest, most prominent information. Words the articles perfectly, and talks about the topics that involve the world as a whole. The editors are highly educated, and understand what is going on instead of just copying down information from a third party source like some journalists do. They go out of the way, and get you as much information as they can. As always fantastic job!

I love this app! I have it set up that it brings the news to my home screen on iPhone & makes a sound when it comes in. I don't have to GO TO the app each day to get the news! I do the same with a local news' app. Works well for me and I highly recommend having both & setting up this way in iphone's settings! This app makes it super easy to stay 'up' on current, important events and news to know!

This is app is perfect for what I need. It's not overbearing with updates, just a few important ones a day; and they are short and concise. I don't know what others expected who complain about the biased journalism, what did you expect from CNN. I agree that to have to watch a commercial for every story is way too much. One commercial per logging on should be enough. Excellent app for my needs!!!

To all the people complaining that CNN news is biased, there are plenty of other news stations. If you don't like it get another app. Obviously, if you don't agree with the Republican Parties views you should go and stick to NBC. All news stations lean towards a political party, get over it. This is app is great, tells me all the news I want to know. No way it should have the rating it does now.

I love the news so far and it's very interested to read and keep an update for any break of news or new topic to follow and read it. So far I enjoy CNN as my favorite news and good thing have it on my iPhone app. I 100% recommended to anyone or a friend of mines to download on your smartphone app and keep an update with CNN. Keep up the good news and keep up the work.

Not sure if the whole country is brain-washed to the fox "news" group, but this app is great for REAL news from as close to an unbiased source as possible. The fact that this app has a horrible star rating (overall) is sad. I love the headlines that come through my phone. I have zero time to watch the news and prefer to get the updates that CNN provides.
