I have used this app for 3 years now on my motorcycle. Internet connectivity has improved tremedously. I have used it on cross country trips to judge the direction, speed and intensity of storms, and decide whether to go, divert, or take shelter. It is extremely accurate. I remember coming out of Jackson Hole WY and watching a storm system build between me and Idaho Falls. We stopped to judge how the storm would impact the route, and decided to go. We barely scooted by north of the storm and got caught in a few wind gusts and sprinkles, but watched the storm close off behind us as we arrived in Idaho Falls.

Another case we were in Sydney, ID in the Sawtooth range, and had an intense cell coming right at us. We decided to take a lunch break and shelter. The storm hit with intense winds and big drops of rain. The wind was so directional, one side of the bike was wet and spattered with dust and mud, and the lee side stayed dry. Radarscope worked.

Lots of other stories, but I recall one in Effingham, IL where I was going through an intense storm. Cars were pulled under the Interstate overpass. I took shelter at a gas station, and watched the storm continue to regenerate and form a classic hook for a tornado signature. As the storm continued to regenerate to my southwest, I could see that by traveling a few miles west, I could hit the dry-line and escape. I did, and Radarscope worked again.

This is by far the most powerful radar app avaliable. It has all the all the reflectivity & velocity products, echo tops, VIL, surface rainfall, storm total rainfall, storm warnings, storm tracks to name a few that anyone from an amateur to a professional would need plus this update adds dual pol products as well.

For the first time RadarScope as add in app purchases which is $9.99 this adds real time lighting and up to 20 frames on super res reflectivity I wish this purchase could have been included but they have to pay to have real time lighting. I'm not sure but I think they could have included the up to 20 frames on super res with the update however to make the in app purchase seem more valuable it was put there but the $9.99 is for lighting detection fee they have to pay.

If you are an amateur or just interrested in learning more about weather I would highly suggest reading excellent FAQ on Radar Scopes page before purchasing it will get you more excited in something you are already interrested in and once you get the app you will already know what all the settings do, the tilts mean and what to look for in each product. If you are on the fence about this you are already interrested in weather or at least learning more I can't give Radar Scope enough praise for this after you read the FAQ play with the app it will get a spot on the first page of your device.

Overall, this is a fantastic app. I bicycle as my primary source of transportation, so having accurate and up to date weather info is very important to me for safe, comfortable commuting. This app lets you pick which radar you want to use, and by switching between two or three you can get a very detailed look at the atmospheric conditions and see where the weather is coming from and where it's heading. I have found the wind velocity feature very useful so I know where the wind is coming from and how hard it's going to be. With this information readily available to me it makes it easy to plan what I need to bring on a ride so I'm always prepared. The recent update has improved the graphics, and added enhanced scans that improve the range of options you have for viewing atmospheric conditions. For mt. bikers, the rainfall amounts on the ground feature could be very handy for planning rides so you can stay away from (or find I suppose) areas where there's going to be wet and muddy conditions.

In short, if you're an outdoor enthusiast, a camper, biker, hiker, geocacher, etc. this app will give you all the atmospheric info you could want, and then some. It was hard for me to take the plunge considering the price, but since I have I'm not sorry I did. A good investment for me, but of course, your mileage may vary.

First of all, there are no empty promises with this app! It delivers exactly what it promises. Although I think the longer loops ought to be free, I understand having to pay for lightning data should I choose to.

This app delivers the most beautiful radar imagery on the market, hands down.

1) Please allow me the option for turning off sweeps. Please.

2) I'd love an easier method for toggling between velocity and reflectivity. Perhaps a two-finger swipe or something. I rarely look at other products and I'm a weather geek!

3) "Precipitation type" is much less confusing than "Precipitation depiction".

I love having radar in my pocket---a childhood dream!

I've had this app for a couple of years on my phone and the development team puts in the work with updates (no additional cost) resulting in a product that is without question superior to anything out there to date. The $$ may turn off some people but this is so far advanced, simple to use, and gives you a clear picture what is coming your way minus all the BS like ads, temps, and dew points etc. Their cust service is excellent. Radarscope is also fantastic on the iPad. I Highly recommend this product

In the spring of 2013 my sister called me freaking out. She was driving & visibility was extremely bad with wind, hail and rain. She was on the road surrounded by farmland. The news reported a tornado touched down very close to her. I could see where the tornado was with this app & she shared her location. I was able to tell her what direction to drive. Even tho it was raining & hailing, with this app I directed her out of the way of the coming tornado. Save your family & buy this app!

Probably the best radar app on the App Store. This would be comparable to something like GRLevel3 on the PC (although it does allow you to view what I'm assuming is level 2 data - referred to as "HD"). An essential app if you're into tracking storms.

Looks great on the iPhone 6 display, thanks for the update!

Some feature suggestions I have are:

-Speed control when viewing loops.
-Alternate color pallets for reflectivity, maybe a winter weather mode.

This application is very adaptable for any user with any level of meteorological knowledge. RadarScope includes the valuable Dual Polarization data from the National Weather Service, SuperRes Velocity/Reflectivity and Precipitation Depiction for winter weather events. Five stars without a doubt. Adding animated GIF ability for Twitter posting would be an excellent addition.

great radar app as a storm spotter the app is for quickly determining where the worst of the storm will hit and allows me the comfort of having a professional grade radar rower in my pocket when I need it. the only things I wish would be added are icons displaying hail, mesos,TVS, and sheer markers. over all though radar scope is by far the best weather app I use.

Can the app get better after the release of 2.2.3 with more dual-pol data in our hands!
$9.99 for one year of non-grid CG lightning is a bargain and their lightning is provided from EarthNetworks.
With the subscription of lightning and a data feed from AllisonHouse - this app is complete.
On a spotter network? Yup it's integrated too.

As a weather enthusiast and a trained SkyWarn spotter, RadarScope is truly the best app there is for viewing raw NEXRAD data. Having access to all of the radar products are key, including the new Dual-Pol products. I don't think there is another radar display app that does what RadarScope does. Well worth the price.

One word AMAZING! This is the best radar app on the app market. Well worth the $10 and getting the pro version is even cooler cause you can see where lighting struck! Which is surprisingly accurate

No other app even comes close to touching the capabilities of this app. This is a must have if you live somewhere that has weather.
