The Economist: World Newsの評価・口コミ・レビュー [iPhone]

Weeklyアプリを好んで使っていました。こちらでもWeeklyが読めるとのことで試してみています。オーディオ(読み上げ)が変更になっており良い点と悪い点があり。

○自動再生 一つを再生させると自動的に次の記事を再生してくれる。運転など手が離せないときは助かる。

Xキュー機能がなし セクションや記事を選んでキューを出来ないので、スキップするにはマニュアル操作が必要

オーディオはPODCASTの方がクオリティーが良いので、リーディングメインに使いたいです。(記事も読み上げはおそらくAI？)

From a clumsy and awkward mix of a website and an app, the transition between these two hardly smooth, the Economist seems to have really dug in and revamped digital delivery. The website is great of course, but the app definitely is a deal breaker. Some minor bugs here and there still are present, but the app itself is smooth and just works.
Audio recordings and all that work great too. Sharing is good, reading density is good, navigation might need a bit of tweaking.

米国で一番知的な層が読むニュース誌として名高いエコノミスト。ネイティブでも知らない単語が多かったりとハードルが高いのも有名。でも単語をタップすれば意味がすぐ分かるアプリは知的に英語力アップを実現し、スノッブな知識を増やすのにも有効です。毎朝のブリーフィングは音声ファイルのある記事も多く、耳も鍛えられる。

I love The Econmist, but I only consume its content on the iPhone app. While walking I often use my Apple Watch to reverse by 10 seconds podcasts where I might have missed something. However, the Apple Watch app forces me to go back to the beginning of the story. Every other audio app lets me go back 10 seconds. Why can’t you do the same?

Whenever I read The economist, I always find it enlightenment. After all, Nowadays, You could get the information from any apps, but why this app? Apparently, in my point of view, It’s the way of thinking taught me a lot. I would appreciate the editors, It’s really a good journal that I recommend.

The Economist is a great news source. Its coverage is always very in depth, the diction used in articles is a great way to widen one’s vocabulary, and the factuality, and number of perspectives given in each peace is truly remarkable. I’m glad to have access.

The website is one of the best. Only a few years ago the Economist site was impossible to enjoy. Because I live in Japan, the print version was not viable. I dropped out for a few years. When I retuned the site was improved enormously. Congratulations!!

Classic Economist app had stable audio player function. Now it became very unstable. This new app is stable but you need to endure one dimensional audio playback, without any freedom to edit the play list. I hope the newspaper will fix this situation.

app has lost its text selection feature, rendering me unable to perform word dictionary lookups or web searches. This has greatly hindered my English learning experience. As it stands, the app has become almost useless for my purposes.

Words on the right side of the page are often partially cut off leaving me wondering how much I’m missing. Please fix this as the main reason I subscribe to the Economist is to avoid having to think for myself.

I’m very interested in current issues all over the world.
Especially regarding peace and poverty, I’m sure that The Economist picks up these updates.

The new daily roundup podcast, along with the ability to listen to saved articles in order add new flexibility for getting my daily news fix.

I am non English native and I can not use the dictionary by iphone while leadind in this new App. Please fix it as soon as possible.

世界各地の新聞記事を読んでる感じ。疎い南米、アフリカ、中米記事は参考になる。
読みやすい。

Amazing app. Their recent update was text selection, so now I can look up words in the app!

Fix a bug which causes to drop out of this app.
