It rocks! If only they could add Spanish...

Wow! To tell you the truth, didn't expect such an excellent keyboard being this a 1.0 version.
One hand mode is super useful for those of us using big phones (6s Plus here), speed is amazing and prediction is just top notch.
Yeah, I already read FAQ and know that this is an experimental software and MS says it's only English. However, I'd like to believe MS won't let pass the chance of reaching a huge installed base of Spanish users.
In the meantime, I have replaced all my other keyboards, including the ios built in for this one.
The only two glitches I've found is far are:
1. It hides what you are writing; try writing a long text, just like this review, and you'll see what I meant. Somehow, screen is not scrolling when text reach the area occupied by keyboard. It seems like size reported to OS were smaller than it's and so scrolling is not done when it's supposed to.
2. When you got to enter some password field which need a numeric keyboard, this one doesn't show a numeric pad just like most of other keyboards do.

Wish list:
1. MS, please add more languages (Spanish here!)
2. 3D Touch, just like iOS keyboard; moving cursor by using 3D Touch is just more efficient
3. Add emoji the option to select skin tone

Love/Hate

As the title says, I both love and hate this keyboard. I like being able to swipe, and I like the curved keyboard for certain times. But that's about the only things I can come up with on the plus side.
It doesn't seem as intuitive as the default keyboard. Example - texting really fast and typing "mote" when you want "more" will result in a correction on Apple's keyboard. This app apparently thinks you live in a castle, because it will never fix it. Also, nicknames that I use every single day aren't remembered at all. I used to own a windows phone, and sadly, these are the same problems that plagued it back then. Not correcting simple, common words takes up time and adds frustration to texting that's completely unnecessary. I like to swipe, but I'm not going to deal with this app's issues just to do so. The space bar seems smaller, and I'm always hitting the period key or the "b" instead of a space. And you guessed it - if you put a "b" between two words, this app won't fix it, but the apple one will.
I'll be deleting this app as soon as I'm done writing this, and I'll be sure to tell others what a pain in the neck it is.

Truly innovative -- a dash of irony.

Honestly my biggest gripe thus far with owning an iPhone has been the lack of customization and a solid keyboard. I've never understood why Apple hasn't implemented a swiping feature on their stock keyboard -- every other smart phone OS has it.

Needless to say, I find it highly ironic that it took their biggest competitor, Microsoft, to release an amazingly beautiful, concise, and accurate swiping keyboard for iOS. Let's be honest here, this one is the best one in the App Store by far. I've literally tried every keyboard under the sun and this one (especially for being a first release) is PHENOMENAL. The only caveat with this is that the period predictions are a little trigger happy so I need to be careful about ending my sentences correctly, but thats something I know they'll probably work out later in the updates.

Swipe has been godsend, and the arched layout for one handed swiping has allowed people like I, who have baby hands, to finally be able to type comfortably whilst one-handed. Kudos Microsoft for developing a keyboard for iOS that far surpasses the original typewriter style single chiclet keys. Hallelujah.

IPhone INSTANTLY Better

Oh man. Been waiting for this forever and literally from the first word I flowed with this keyboard I knew I didn't need my Nokia out of the shop anytime soon. Completely destroys every swipe keyboard in the iPhone universe. Not one mistake since switching, and even on this smaller screen (6 plus vs. Nokia Lumia 1520) it's so accurate and smooth that I don't need the extra wide key spacings.

As usual on the Windows phone with this, word suggestions actually make sense and the right word is most often right there in the suggestion box if it didn't already get things right. The tilt keyboard works left or right handed. Its smaller than the regular keyboard but even with that it still blows Swipe and SwiftKey completely off the grid. Antibody who claimed those were better than this is about to get schooled.

Customization is pretty cool too, where you can use your own pics to create themes right in the settings for the app. So worth waiting for - completely changes my satisfaction with iPhone. Brilliant! Best Apple apps are still built by Microsoft - like always.

**Updated: Very Flexible

**Update: The latest improvements have made this keyboard that much better! The spacebar is much more functional, but like most users have said, when you press space, 6 out of 10 times you will end up with words like "I'm.great".**

This is one of the best out there. With that being said, the enter key needs to be the smallest key on the keyboard. The period key needs to be smaller and the space bar be enlarged.

Like any other keyboard on the market, its nowhere near as intuitive as Apple's keyboard... Frequent mistakes such as hitting "b" instead of space results in words like "andbyou".

Pros:
A) Most theme-able keyboard I've seen yet
B) The curved one hand typing really does help

Cons:
A) No 3d touch support
B) The space key needs to be the biggest key on the bottom row
C) Predictive text can be over bearing, no way to override the predictive text with out first hitting space then the delete key

Best Mobile Keyboard Anywhere

I was incredibly excited when I heard that Microsoft released it's mobile keyboard for iOS. It's been the only thing I missed, software-wise, since having to give up my Nokia last year.

I was a little apprehensive that it would be as great on my iPhone but within minutes I was over it. This keyboard rocks, from the customization and sounds to the swipe (by far the most accurate I have ever used) and one handed mode... I can't think of a single thing I don't like. And even better, the more you use it the better it knows you. So for the couple of reviews I've seen that complain that it doesn't correct accurately enough- keep using it. I've just written this entire review without having to make a single correction on my own.

The only feedback I have is that I hope they plan to add 3D touch support. I'd gotten quite used to being able to jump back in text using a firm touch.

Now even better!

The update is perfect! So far no issues. There's a history/frequently used section for emoji's and all the new ones that Apple added!

I have a couple suggestions. I used to use Swype and, with it, commonly used punctuation was programmed to x n and m. It had the period button and to use the rest you just swiped from (for instance) x to the space bar to place and exclamation mark or m to space for a question mark. It would be awesome to have that.
The other suggestion would be to be able to access the learned words dictionary and delete or add words individually from there instead of deleting all. The app seems to not want to learn the swear words I type so often and I've accidentally misspelled words that it learned. I'd love to be able to program in my bad words and delete my misspellings without having to delete everything. Awesome app though! 100%

Best keyboard I’ve tried

This is a fantastic keyboard, much better than my previous favorite, SwiftKey. I like how when you swipe a word, the suggested entries are possible other intentions, rather than anticipating the next word. However, if you depress one key at a time, it switches to anticipatory suggestions. The best use for me is to swipe quickly everything I intend to write, then look over the text, and if I see an error, when I put the cursor at the end of the incorrect word, it suggests three alternatives, and I’ve yet to not find my intended word suggested. I also find the swiping is “looser” in that it correctly captures my meaning even when I’m not so accurate on the swiping part, whereas SwiftKey was less forgiving. Now, if Apple would only allow third parties to access the microphone function, I’d never have to swap out my Microsoft keyboard.

Best one yet

This is the best 3rd party keyboard I've used. I've tried at least 5 others. I like the styling of this keyboard a lot - very minimalist and truly elegant. Its more accurate, in my experience, than Gboard. I still use Gboard from time to time because of the gif search built in but it's just not accurate enough for me to use full time. Word flow is really impressively accurate and fast and doesn't lose finger tracking where you're swiping and mid-word you lose tracking and a new word begins (this happens a lot with Gboard). This keyboard is the closest to the stock keyboard with the addition of really accurate swyping! I hope they continue to strengthen it. I want for punctuation option in the long press of the period key - please add semi colon and pound/hashtag sign those are used so frequently! This is my only request.

Dear Apple...

This simple keyboard that was given to us by MICROSOFT... will hopefully open your eyes. You have been riding on Jobs' ideas and bastardising them for too long. I have been using your products from before the iPod, and I am about to become a reverse "switcher". The only thing that you have done is make the phone a little faster and shoot photos that are a little sharper while adding "me too" elements. You are no longer cutting edge and your vision is led by your board. I am disappointed that the people known for Word, Excel, boring rectangle off white boxes, and viruses seem to have a better grasp on design and what a user needs than you.

Everyone else... This app is great and accounts for ergonomics while using your iPhone. This is a must have and while it is free, it would be worth paying for.

Hands down, the best gesture-based keyboard on iOS

The title says it all. Forget Swype, forget Swiftkey, forget Fleksy--this is the best 3rd-Party keyboard on iOS. The gesture typing works beautifully and the ability to tilt the keyboard for one-handed use is a just cool. The best reason to use this keyboard over its piers? It's easily the most optimized 3rd-party keyboard on iOS. Unlike Swype and Swiftkey, it doesn't mysteriously disappear every so often when trying to search or type a text message.

The only let down? The themes are weak. There are many free themes installed, but they're a bit strange. The white and blue themes are fine, but some of the more exotic ones are a turnoff. Of course, you can use a photo from your library as a background, so that gives you options.

Overall, excellent.

A Remarkably Good App!

Until now, I mostly have been using the Swype keyboard, and generally like it. But I also have a few frustrations with it. It often autocorrects a word that I typed correctly, changing it to a word I didn't want. This occurs even if I tap the letters, rather than drag them. But, it is fast, and often does a very good job. Apple's keyboard has similar problems, except that it usually shows my spelling as one of the options to choose from at the bottom of the screen, so I can keep my version.

I found that the Word Flow keyboard works much better, with a considerably higher success rate than with other keyboard. It doesn't seem to have the above problems. My initial impressions are very positive!

I hope Microsoft creates an iPad version, too.

Best 3rd party keyboard ever

I'm not the one to write reviews but I had to for this one. Man I used this for 2-3 minutes and I simply fell in love I tried both the one handed and regular and I can definitely say its the best and most simple design yet. And I have tried plenty 3rd party keyboards. I love how I can click on emojis and get back to the keyboard without having to cycle threw the original iPhone keyboard then back to the 3rd party keyboard. And the swipe feature is so accurate with predicting your text as well as just typing. You can type as fast, if not faster than the original stock keyboard. All in all its a great keyboard. The best 3rd party keyboard. Thank you guys for such a wonderful option and functionality.

Not perfect but probably the best keyboard out the

I've used a number of keyboards including Swiftly and this one bests them all. It's more accurate and even easier to slide across the keyboard. Also, it seems to be interested in improving your productivity by allowing control over predictive suggestions and reporting on your WPM.

A couple of issues though- it suggests periods to end a sentence too quickly and its not perfect integration with ios- sometimes the keyboard is missing and to write this review I. Have to constantly stop and scroll up to see what I'm doing.

Still I'm super impressed BC it allows you to make corrections faster and moves at your speed. With swiftkey lately I spent more time correcting than I did typing

Finally!

As a former Windows Phone 7, 8 and 8.1 user, I was excited to hear Microsoft was releasing a keyboard app for iOS. There are a number of things I miss about Windows Phone and the keyboard is one of the biggest - this Word Flow keyboard isn't quite as good but after a day's use I can safely say it beats all the others I've tried on iOS (stock Apple keyboard, Swype, Swiftkey). The one-handes corner feature is very handy for use on the 6s Plus, and the swipe seems more accurate. It also hasn't forced a lot of inaccurate "word corrections" on me which most of the others do all the time. If they add the ".com" button it will come close to as good as the Windows 10 mobile keyboard.

BiscuitySmooth - ★★★★★ 2016-04-26

Very accurate

I'm using the swipe feature to type this review and it is very accurate at determining what I meant to swipe. It is more accurate than swiftkey, which was my preferred swiping method on my iPhone 6 regular. The tap typing is also very accurate. Next word predictions are very good too. I'm going to use this keyboard from now on. The only complaints I have are my general iPhone keyboard complaints: I don't think the punctuation popup contains enough options, there is no voice input key on any of my keyboards, and I can't find emoticons in Whatsapp. Probably not the fault of the individual keyboard though, but I don't know enough about iPhone to determine the cause.

Big improvement over the stock keyboard

I really like this keyboard and being able to input words by swiping my finger instead of tapping each letter manually. I also really like the modifiable punctuation button.

The one improvement I would suggest is making it easier to input apostrophes. They're pretty common punctuation, and I think they should be added to the modifiable punctuation button even though they don't end sentences. They may not need to be input manually for common contractions like "we've", thanks to the swipe input, but manual input is still required for most possessives, which are difficult for the swipe input to discern.

Early Impressions: Very Good

It is very responsive when coming up for use in various applications, something that took swiftkey months to get right (and it is still lagging sometimes). All features work as described.

One area on not sure about yet is the auto correct/typability. It might be myself needing to retrain by fingers to a new keyboard but I am making a lot more errors than I am when I use swiftkey. That could be because swiftkey is great at learning your typing map.

Overall the early experience has been pleasant. I will give it some more time to see if it holds up.

Wowzer!

I moved to iOS about a year and a half ago from Windows Phone and really missed the Word Flow keyboard. I saw Microsoft released a keyboard for iOS a couple months ago and was super pumped to use it only to find it was horrible. I'm happy to say that this Word Flow keyboard is nothing like that one and works flawlessly! I love it more than any other keyboard I've tried on iOS (probably about 10 different keyboards). Word Flow is smooth and elegant and so far has done a great job with predictions. Keep up the great work Word Flow team at Microsoft!

mitchartz - ★★★★★ 2016-04-25

3D Touch

There have been major improvements to this keyboard, with the accuracy of both the swiping and the typing, as well as the selection of emojis. The "word predictor" and autocorrect has gotten better, but could still use some help (as far as adding apostrophes to words and people's names). The only feature that's preventing this from being better than Apple's is the use of 3D touch. Once this is implemented this will be the keyboard to have. One keyboard to rule them all ⌨.
