I've got my iphone loaded with study apps. Everything from Anki to StickyStudy. This app is absolutely essential in my opinion. There's no other way I've found to practice listening AND have study progress for each phrase remembered. Including some lessons would help however. But aside from that, I've been more than happy with StudyChat.

good for practice
This app is pretty much like flashcards, repeating conversations as needed. The app does better in that it tries to make "fluid" conversations from the flashcards. Overall I find it more interesting than straight flashcards for practicing my Japanese, so it gets my thumbs up.

one of the better study apps
I've been practicing with this for a while now. I admit that without knowing some Japanese first, I'm not sure I would have benefited much. It's more aimed at lower intermediate to practice listening skills, something I haven't found anywhere else.

This is so cool! Learning from anime characters! I just wish there were more lessons. It kind of jumps right in there with phrases and expressions to learn. Although I do like how we can switch between hiragana and romanji.
