I did not have very high expectations when I signed up for OfferUp. I recently went through a very difficult move from CA to AZ. I quickly realized I've accumulated WAY TOO MUCH STUFF!! I started selling on eBay, but the eBay, PayPal and shipping fees limit what you can sell through them. I needed a way to sell bigger things and low value items, so I decided to give OfferUp a try. I sold a beach umbrella I had never used within a week of posting. I then sold two folding bag chairs and a Sport-Brella within a day of posting. I'm set to sell a pet play yard this afternoon. All have sold at my asking price.

At great prices! I also have sold things from time to time. I don't need to mess around with plastic or cardboard boxes, just one added bonus. The trouble has been getting people to reply quickly. For instance I wanted a garden hose for my condo, the lady took four days to reply, but finally gave me an address and said "come get it and leave the money in the mailbox. The item is on my driveway". So very worth the gas money to get there! Side note ..she apologized for late reply. Others reply quickly; I feel I get the best bang for my buck here and furthermore I'm afraid to buy brand new JUNK from China it's usually just over priced garbage, my offer up things have been excellent.

I have used this app for several months now and had no problems... until the last update. It must have had a huge glitch because I had only 33 ratings, all 5 stars, and now I have 40 ratings and they were not all 5 stars. So now instead of having a straight 5 star ratings across the board, I only have a 4.5 rating. That's a huge deal on this site because stars effect how you buy and sell. People want to see 5 stars to even consider buying or selling from you. Makes me kind of upset. PLEASE FIX!! It also messes up when it comes to message notifications. Sometimes it won't show up that I have a message, even though the message tone went off... or vice versa. I love this app because I have honestly had a great buying and selling experience with it, and it's 10x safer than Craigslist. Please make it good again by fixing those glitches and problems... thank you!

When I first heard of OfferUp, I thought, "Why would anyone use offer up when they have Craigslist?" I'd been using Craigslist successfully for a while and I was not unhappy with it. But then I tried Offer Up!! Wow! It's actually better. The best part, for me, is the safety of anonymity. Since all communications go through the App, there's NO risk in contacting complete strangers on my personal cell phone. I arrange a safe, public meeting spot, and I never have to worry about a dissatisfied buyer or seller having my personal contact information.
