Hitch was created to make the tow ordering process easier for all parties involved. The first installment of this plan comes with the Hitch Towing mobile consumer app. With one tap you can start a simplistic tow ordering process.
First you will select the vehicle being serviced followed by the user that is requesting the service. Once that is completed, you can either use your precise location or manually input the location where the vehicle needs to be picked up by the service provider. Upon confirming your pick up address and Hitch determining if there is a service provider servicing your area, the application will prompt & require you to submit at least four pictures of your vehicle. These photos should cover every side of your vehicle (360 degrees). This allows the service provider to have a full visual of the situation they are headed towards, being able to determine before arrival if the job is within their means. This will also protect you the customer because you will have submitted evidence of the state of your vehicle prior to the service provider handling it that will be saved on our database in case any damages were to occur. The customer can either take the photographs at the scene with their phone's camera if they allow for camera access, or you can select photos from your photo gallery.
Once the photos have been submitted, you will be able to choose your delivery location by manually inputting an address or using your current location if the vehicle is being brought to where you currently are. In the delivery location search bar, you can also type out some popular service shops, dealerships, or body shops (i.e. Maaco, Pep Boys, Ford, etc.) and the nearest locations' addresses will be prompted (currently a feature for only the Atlanta, GA area). On this same screen you can add additional services like a winch out or a tire change for an additional charge. Tire change capabilities will vary based on the service provider(s) available in the area. After completing the delivery location screen you will be brought to a summary screen reflecting all of the previously input information as well as a map indicating the path from the pick up to the drop off location. Selecting "initiate the tow" will prompt an estimated charge based on a charge rate previously agreed on between Hitch Towing and the service provider. After pressing "OK" you will then be placed in the waiting room while a service provider near you receives an email notification of a nearby job request (your request) and they will be on their way to the pick up location.
Additional features include a "People" & "Vehicles" page where the user can input all necessary information for every user & vehicle that may be used on the account; helpful for logistic companies as well as multi vehicle households. When you input your vehicle information, the vin for the vehicle is verified so that the service provider knows exactly what wrecker/vehicle is needed for the service, what size tire to bring, etc.
Future applications are currently in the works for Hitch Towing that will be able to communicate with this mobile consumer app to allow for a more fluid, transparent, secure, and overall better experience for Hitch Towing users and service providers alike.
