US CPA Exams in India
The big news regarding the US CPA exam is that it can now be taken in India. CPA Exams are now in India! Yes, you heard it right. There was a ton of speculation around the idea of the US CPA exams coming to India for the past couple of years. The idea was already on the AICPA and NASBA’s agenda, given the rising number of CPA aspirants and exam takers from in and around the Indian subcontinent. Though a formal announcement has not been made about continuing future testing options in India, the NASBA and AICPA have announced plans to begin a pilot in India for the months of June and September 2020.

Given the global pandemic situation with COVID-19 and most of the countries being locked down with travel and other restrictions, the US accounting bodies, the AICPA and the NASBA, have explicitly stated on their respective websites, to start testing in India to ensure a safe and sound, healthy and convenient, travel and administration hassle-free and cost-friendly atmosphere for the Indian candidates and aspirants to give the US CPA exams. Earlier, the candidates had to travel to the United States or the Middle East to give their exams. With this formal announcement, the candidates can now give the exams in India.

As per the AICPA and the NASBA, the US CPA exams can be given in India for the months of June and September 2020, in Prometric centers across 8 locations in India namely, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Trivandrum. Furthermore, candidates from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the United States can also test for the CPA exam in India given that the candidates meet the respective eligibility requirement.
