Over the last year a friend and I took on a passion project of making the first MSDS Mobile app. You don't have to be a customer. No strings attached; $.99 for instant access to critical information.

Search and view an unlimited number of (M)SDSs. Respond quickly and competently in emergency situations. Gain instant insight into the chemicals and products you are working with—all from the palm of your hand!

Add an unlimited number of frequently referenced (M)SDSs to your personal "My Favorites" binder. Forward complete (M)SDSs by fax, e-mail or SMS (text message); or share the (M)SDS that you use by Tweet or Facebook post.

The app first premiered in Apple's App Store/iTunes in October 2011 for free. In just three short months it has been downloaded more than 4,700 times. Due to this overwhelming response a $.99 price tag was necessary to support the Android release and feature enhancements.

Working forward with MSDS Mobile, we plan to incorporate the NIOSH pocket guide into the application as well as off-line access for individual users' "My Favorites" binders. Off-line access will allow users to view MSDS that have been added to their personal "My Favorites" binder. This feature enhancement is intended to further support MSDS Mobile users working remote areas and in facilities where a cellular signal is intermittent or unavailable.

This is the only app available today that actually connects you to manufacturer-authored MSDS and SDS—and it's avaialble for $.99.
