Letter2Sound gives you a good understanding of the basic building blocks of some Indian language. As most languages, basic elements of the language are 'Vowels', 'Consonants' and 'Numbers'.

We live in an age where people travel, migrate and live in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual surroundings. We know how to speak multiple languages but not necessarily how to read/write them. We know the sounds of a language but do not know exactly WHICH letter in the alphabet emits that sound, or how it is written. For example, someone who's native language is 'Hindi' does know a little bit of Kannada if staying in Bengaluru or Gujarati if staying in Ahmedabad. So while speaking these languages we know the sound 'Ka' but do not know it comes from 'ಕ' in Kannada and 'ક' in Gujarati, respectively. We hope to help you learn these basics, by sounding the exact pronunciations and show you the elements with different simple word examples. When you come across such words, this little tool should help you decipher its sound and bring you the joy of reading and understanding Indian languages.

It does not matter if you have a toddler eager to learn (or you want to teach) OR an adult wanting to learn a new language. The app makes the connection between the written and its sound, which is a critical step towards learning a new language for the young and old.

The app DOES NOT:
- Contain a dictionary of the Indian language
- Translate Indian language TO or FROM any other language
- Go beyond the basic building blocks

The simplicity of the UI and the set of clear and concise features, allows you to use the app as a learning tool OR as a reference. We have the same functionality shown here for Sanskrit available in other languages like Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati and Marathi.
