Bae Su Ji (Hangul: 배수지; Hanja: 裵秀智; born October 10, 1994), commonly known by her stage name Suzy, is a South Korean idol singer, dancer, actress, model and MC. She is best known for her roles as Go Hye-mi in the KBS2 TV series' Dream High, Jang Ma Ri in Big, young Yang Seo Yeon in the movie Architecture 101, and Dam Yeo Wool in the MBC TV series' Gu Family Book. She is a member of the Korean girl group miss A, which debuted under JYP Entertainment alongside with AQ Entertainment in 2010.
In March 2010, Suzy joined fellow members Fei and Jia to form the group miss A. The trio began their first official promotional activities in China as a group by signing up with the Samsung Electronics group in China. The group released a song used for the commercial called "Love Again" for the Samsung Beat Festival. The song was written by Korean composer Super Changddai, and the music video was directed by Hong Won Ki. The group was later joined by a fourth member, Min.
In October 2011, it was confirmed that Suzy became a cast member in KBS2 TV reality show Invincible Youth 2 (청춘불패) in which Suzy was a part of G8, consisting of eight girls from idol groups as Girls' Generation's Sunny and Hyoyeon, Kara's Jiyoung, f(x)'s Amber, SISTAR's Bora, Rainbow's Woori and Jewelry's Yewon. The show began filming its first episode on October 19 and aired on November 11.
On June 4, 2012, Suzy took a supporting role in a Hong Sister's drama "Big" beside Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung as the crazy but beautiful Jang Mari.
Bae Suzy is well known for being the first Korean female celebrity to have more than one million followers on Twitter. She is also the first Korean female to win a singer rookie award, drama rookie award and movie rookie award after receiving her Best New Actress Award at the 48th Paeksang Awards night. On December 22, 2012, Suzy also won the Best Newcomer of the Year for Variety shows marking her 4th rookie award in different entertainment fields.
On April 08, 2013, she starred as the main female character Dam Yeo Wool in the drama "Gu Family Book". It proved a great success staying number one for the Monday-Tuesday time-slot throughout its entire run.
Even at a young age, Suzy's influence in the entertainment industry is very prominent. She is currently holding the status of a CF Queen due to numerous and well-received endorsement deals ranging from cosmetics, apparel, up to basic commodities like sugar. She was a featured guest in a highly profiled talk show Healing Camp as the youngest guest on the show and received more love from the public.
