Slashy Souls is just a fun, free promotion for Dark Souls 3. "You Died" on the screen of a dumb sidescroller? Crappy midi music? It had me cracking up. I'm pretty confident that they put this out there knowing it was silly, and something Souls fans might get a kick out of in a novel way; and that's just it, it's a novelty. I'm giving this 5 stars based on the ridiculousness of it alone. Add the fact that you're supposed to die every 11 seconds and it's just a fun, dumb little app. Come on, it's free, links to a preorder, and it's called "Slashy Souls". Did you guys expect a legitimate DS game? They should have called it Whiney Souls.

I personally have beat all the souls games before so I know all the references in this epic app. It has a couple tweaks that could be made, but other than that I really like this game. I wish it was more like you could upgrade your character's stats, change armor & weapons, stuff like that. But who knows, maybe that'll be added in a later update?? I think this was just some kind of app quickly made as an ad for Dark Souls 3, because it advertises it ALOT in-game. I don't mind because I already pre-ordered it and I'm so HYPED!! Overall, fun and free app so theres no reason NOT to get this amazing game!!! :)

Nobody should expect this game to be just like Dark Souls, it's just a promotional game to pass the time until DS3.
It is a phone game and there are some problems with controls at times, but that doesn't really take away from the enjoyment (for me personally).
Part of the fun of Souls games, is dying a lot. And you'll probably die a lot in this game.
It does still need some work, I hope they continue to work on it. It would even be cool to see a sequel to Slashy Souls, or maybe even a version of Bloodborne like this.

Our love for Souls come from the fact that it is completely skill based. You must find out the flow of gameplay and work to beat it, bugs and all. That being said considering how important dodging and jumping are in Slashy I feel that there should be a dedicated area or buttons for them. With no invincibility frames the timing of your jumps and rolls mean everything. For this game to truly test our skills as players we need to have the commands react as we act. Then it will be Great.

As a Dark Souls fan, I'm happy to have the chance to play something that reminds me of the awesomeness of this piece of gem. The graphics and the animation is not perfect but it's still ok. Background music and sound effects are cool and the progressive difficulty, new weapons, boss fights, and deadly obstacles are nicely done.

Although the lack of an upgrade system makes it repetitive after a while, I give it 5 stars because there is no IAPs and it's completely free.

The controls are not the best but is playable. If you could add challenges or quests that rewards with new armor sets. Seeing the same old armor over and over again is boring. Adding a setting for different controls. Maybe add a tutorial, I already learned the controls but if adding one for new players would be good(please have it optional). I don't think the game is bad, but needs fine tuning.

I think what everyone likes to forget when writing review is that this game just recently came out. It's not completed or perfected. However I see everyone complains about controls. I've never had problems with the controls. I guess I'm just playing the game better than you. This game is a great way to pass the time and has really good potential to be a great game.

I really thought this was a great game. Adding the runner type games mixed with the dark souls feel made it a fun experience. Could use some tweaks such as re calibrating the controls (sometimes not very responsive) and maybe adding a health bar and more items to grab in the run. Great and fun mini game otherwise. Loved it the entire time.

I guess I'll make the obligatory "first" comment. I'm excited about this, Dark Souls III still seems so far away, and though I have Bloodborne to keep me occupied I'm still paining for the new release. This game seems pretty awesome so far, I'm looking forward to spending more time with it.

I love the dark souls series, and also love that the made a little mini game just for it, it'll be more cool if you add stuff more like the console games or actually make a game like the console. But either way great game and keep up with the good work ✌️

Great app for anyone who is a fan of the Souls series. While not much in terms of gameplay features, it is a fun way to pass time. You will see familiar locations along with neat weapons and bosses. Great for a free app! Maybe more content to come!

Definitely a fun dark souls spoof. Like others mentioned, I would love to see a health bar added, as well as a place where I can view the badges I need to unlock. An expanded leaderboards would be nice also. Hoping for a couple updates!

Yes its true this game was a mess bugs everywhere...i could never recommend it i would say "its really fun BUT...its full of bugs" but now its been cleaned up heavily defiantly recommend it

Been a dark souls fan sense 1 i think this game is really funny but 1 minor tweak could u make the jump response time when swiping up a little faster would appreciate it

This is a cool little game that's really fun to play. It really feels like I'm playing dark souls as a arcade game
