~ So, I have been using Shop-kicks for about 2 months now after discovering that apps like this existed for the IPhone. Considering the app is free, functions awesomely (rarely crashes & runs smoothly) & the fact that I haven't gone "out of my way" to earn points to use towards rewards - it is pretty amazing & requires much less effort than some of the other reward apps out there. I have earned enough points to get $20+ in GiftCards @ stores like Target/Starbucks/Lowe's (and many others!); I am currently saving up for a nice $50 Target Card - which I estimate I will be able to get in another 1-2 Months (Not bad for just walking into, browsing & shopping at places you already go!). The Customer svc. people are great, a little slow on the response time, but super nice. The best part: when you do redeem your points, most GiftCards become available within the hour ( they are saved on your profile & work via a scannable barcode on your phone or by punching in the card number). I have already used a $5 GiftCard & just loved the feeling of knowing I got it for FREE! The only compliant I have is about the "instant surprises", my suggestion is to post more of them for a larger variety of stores, so us users have a way to earn points when we're just sitting at home :-)

I have used this app for about a month. I have done walk-ins, scans and kickbates. You need to follow the instructions regarding opening the store walk-in button when you walk into the store and I turn off my wifi so that the store's wifi doesn't interfere. Even then, I have had a couple of occasions when there was a delay before the walk-in kicks opened or had to get the walk-in kicks as I exited the store. You are also limited each month on the number of walk-in kicks you can earn at a given store.
The scans of products is easy and once you find a product at one store, you can't go to another store and scan the same product so you need to plan where you can go to get the most kicks in one visit. The kickbates have been reviewed and credited to my account the same day usually within the hour of submission. I was able to claim my first gift card today (I could of claimed a smaller amount earlier). The reward came immediately after I claimed it instead of days later as is the case with some apps. There is a drain on the battery and you do have the constant location on/off issue that other reviewers have mentioned. These issues are present in other similar apps. Since I turn off wifi when using the app, I am using some of my data plan also.

This is a fantastic app to get free gift cards!

How does it work?
- Simple. Make sure your current location is turned on and Bluetooth(optional). Open the app before walking into the store and have that store up on the app and you walk into the store to get points. Some stores might not have walk in points so you may have to scan items throughout the store. Pay attention to certain items you scan, because if you purchase them and then scan the receipt you get extra points. Last, you can put a debit or credit card on the app and if you purchase over a certain amount, you will get extra points. Redeem points for gift cards! The cool thing is that there are so many gift cards to choose from. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM REDEEMING A GIFT CARD! It is simple and easy!

Any problems using this app?
- Yes sometimes, the app will not be able to load while in a store(usually this happens during holidays or when the stores are packed) but this problem doesn't occur to often and sometimes it will remember what stores you went into and give you the points later.

It is definitely worth the time to get this app!

The app isn't the only thing I take into consideration when rating, it's the service I receive when I come across problems. This app is an amazing idea! I love how it keeps you active. However, I did encounter a problem.
Every time I'd walk into Target, the signal wouldn't find me in the store. I emailed customer service and they immediately sent an automated email saying they'll get back to me as soon as possible. I think about the next day I received a personal email from them. It was nice, the lady genuinely wanted to help me and she laid out all these different steps to do that wasn't on the FAQ page. So I did as she said and still, I didn't receive kicks for walking into Target. Now, the quality of her service was unexplainable...she went above measures to satisfy me. She reimbursed my several walk-ins, and helped me to solve the problem. I actually had to open the app in the parking lot, wait for it to load, then walk in the store. I instantly got my walk-in kicks :). Thanks to that patient customer service lady.

I think the idea of checking into stores and earning points for finding/trying products is great. This is definitely a new service though - it's got limited prizes and only a few large sponsors. I love the service and what it's doing, so I'm using it as much as I can to help make them bigger with more prizes and stores to choose from.

I sent in an email the other day suggesting they add itunes gift cards and got a personal reply back. Not only was it just a "thank you" but they asked if I had any suggestions, and how my experience was so far. It sounds like they're really awesome people.

Points are easy to collect, but you need a lot of them before you can redeem a gift card from anywhere. I've earned more than enough to get a $2 gift card at BestBuy, but I'm saving up for something larger. Even better than just getting prizes though, you can find hidden "bonuses" when you check into stores. I've been able to donate 2 meals to people who need it, and donate to abused animals too. I would keep using the app for that alone!

I would be giving this app a five but I have run into two specific problems. One, I have linked my card to the app and I am supposed to be rewarded with points when purchasing items in stores. Twice now I have not received points at Sports Authority and Yankee Candle when using the linked card! I made sure I didn't used my pin. Is there a limit? This was very disappointing. Second problem, when I purchase items and scanned the receipt of the scanned items from the store, I didn't receive the kicks from those purchases. It's happened twice now as well. I find that the receipt is difficult to scan because the parameters are too small and it's hard to tell if I have captured the whole thing. Frustrating! Other than that, I love this program! It's a lot of fun and I have already enjoyed receiving a free reward! Fix these issues and it will be a perfect five! Thank you!

This app is great! Who could really complain, you are in the store already, so why not earn something extra, just while you are walking around, browsing! It's a nice perk, for a boring shopping trip! Sometimes, I even learn about a product, that I otherwise would not have checked out, until I would actually needed that particular item! Which makes it much more interesting too! It is also nice too, for something to come in the mail, when you are not really expecting it, because you might have forgotten that I did Shopkicks recently! I just think it's a lot of fun! Of course, sometimes there are glitches, just like anything else, but people need to be patient, report it, and see if something is done about it, before just being nasty and jumping the gun, and leaving a horrible review!!! Hope that mostly everybody enjoys it, just like me!!!

This is , by far, one of the best apps. It's rewarding to get a gift card for things you normally do (like shop). It offers great ways to get gift cards (for real no hassle), bonus points for purchases you most likely would have made anyhow, and it provides coupons and tells you the latest deals. I especially like that you can purchase items from the app if there's something you see that you like. It's been more helpful than Retail Me Not. I enjoy the daily surprise kicks. I also like the scans because it feels like we're on a scavenger hunt. The scans have also prompted me to buy items that I may not have tried so when the survey pops up I surely give my honesty and I appreciate that the surveys are short and sweet!!!!!!

My family has this app and we like to go "kick it" with each other

I play video games often as a hobby. So building up kicks to use towards a purchase of a game is nice so it doesn't dip into funds needed for important expenses. The only negative thing I can think of is often in my wal mart or Target store while trying to scan an item, if I'm past the middle of the store my service is bad and my scan won't go through. If this could be fixed somehow with an offline mode for those instances that would be awesome. But overall it's a great app. Thank you and I recommend this app to all my friends.

app has gotten horrible. Haven't gotten a kick from looking at items pages in months so only kicks I can get it from walking into a store or scanning. There used to be more random kicks I'm kinda disappointed.

Great app. Get kicks (points) for walking in to stores, making purchases, scanning items in stores and even looking at mini lookbooks/deals in the app. I've had it for a little over a year now, and I've earned over $70 in free gift cards. I always think about how much I could get if I was more active with it. I mostly exchange my points for Target gift cards. I've gotten so many $5 Target gift cards. But they have them for many other stores like JCPenney, Toys R Us, Sephora, etc, and if you earn a lot of kicks you could even get items or other prizes. Overall I think it's a great app. It's super easy and you can invite friends for kicks too. Which I've done and they also like it. No reason not to get it cause everyone shops. Get free things. :)

I'm very upset! My account was banned supposedly for not following the rules! I have never broken the rules!! I deleted my app along with other apps simply to make space for an upgrade to my phone. When I downloaded the app again it would not allow me to sign in saying that my phone number was already in use. I tried everything. It was letting me on as guest only. I went to Target and got kicks as a guest and then they account reverted back to my old account. That made me happy however it said that the kicks I had just received were no longer in my account. I reentered the store and it kicked me off for breaking the rules. What the hell, this is ridiculous. It won't even allow me to
Redeem the kicks I worked so hard for. Very unfair.

I get up and plan my day after I check the few I apps I wheedled down to use (deleted 12 others) very few have such an easy format to follow, there is no extra junk to muck up finding scanning and purchasing items. I read a review just before writing mine and was tickled about an email being filled with spam....it isn't from this app that's for sure because I have 4 emails and this app made it to the top 2 that I keep as private as possible, one is business one personal the others are for junk and maybe I might like/keep apps. I let this app track me, I'm afraid I might miss something lol - I could care less about spam - easy to click & delete but not so easy for me to find great deals and earn stuff yippie I love kicks

Today I went shopping with my wife we had so much fun I'm 69 years old I can have fun again I love shop kick.
Today and last week not fun when I get to Walmart at houghton rd the becon is never working i have bought 4or5 boxes of Cheetos family size it won't scan everything I scan will not work in the store what can I do with this problem help me please,you're system is bad they have a wifi at houghton rd Walmart store but your system don't work as you walk into are in the store when I send you what is wrong (you never send me an answer your oops is getting old if you don't fix this problem I will send a request to google and BBB so let me know what to do with this problem)as always thank you and please help.

I must admit that I find going to the mall or to the grocery a huge chore. Not since I installed Shop Kick! Now it is a huge game that makes me more attentive to new products. I love the "get the look" section. I must admit that the sound is even fun! I met a woman at Target who was fascinated with what I was doing. I sent her an invite and in seconds she was hooked.
And now that the user can buy directly from the app--wow!!! I spent time trying to find a Nine West purse. No luck. Then the update came with a way to buy. Got two purses and on sale. One stop shopping!!
I have gotten $100 of Starbucks gift cards and loved every drink I bought with my gift certificates. Thanks !!

When I started the walk in kicks were awesome plus auto kicks for opening the app everyday. Then it was in the ad promos with at least 1 kick and sometimes 3 or 5. Now it's 1 if you lucky even out of a dozen ads. And the walkins are all so low now. Used to be many were 100! So opportunities to earn kicks is becoming slower and slower. And several stores that participated have left our area :(. But the premise is great and it's free so anything you earn is cool! This is a great app, especially if you are a shopper or near major stores. The points are less than one cent in value, but earning points (and turning them into gift cards) is easy. Customer service also responds really well to suggestions. For example, they recently added points for items on your receipt, however they were not distinguished apart from earning points by simply scanning. I was disappointed to find that in order to earn those 300 points I'd need to buy two items. After suggesting they change this, it was quickly revised to be easier to use! Now you can see how many scanned points and how many receipt points you can earn separately.

I know a lot of people give good apps a bad rep, but the truth with this app is give it time and learn how to use it properly. Keep your software up to date and ask questions to customer support when you have any questions. If you do all of this you can truly enjoy this rewards app. I've been earning points for years and been able to redeem points on the fly to get rewards cards immediately to help out with shopping, going to the pharmacy when I'm sick or just getting some Starbucks. Be smart about it, learn it, give it a try. This really is one of the best rewards apps I've ever had the pleasure of testing. Plus, it's free.

There is no reason not to use this app! It is so simple to use!! You get points by scanning the items they have chosen for you to scan and these points add up towards the award you haven chosen from a list of nice gifts -I'm aiming for the 32" lcd TV! Sometimes though the store doesn't always carry the products they ask you to scan so you don't get those points. But you also get points just for walking in the store and.... You can link a credit card and if you pay with that card where you have to sign for it, you'll get the points for it!

Ok it took a day to realize what I was doing wrong. You have to a. Go to the store that is listed. If it says albertsons for example.. It's not just any albertsons the one by my house no, the address listed was the one 2 miles away. You have to go to the right address. Also just because u see a store name doesn't mean it gives u anything. You have to see kicks under its name. I made a gift card within two days going to places I already go. It's not a lot of money but it's so easy to use and it's like a scavenger hunt to do scans my kid loves scanning and finding things for me. All in all good but yeas a battery drain.

It takes awhile to collect the points but that's kind of the point, they can't just hand out free giftcards y'know? Anyways, I love this app. It's free, you earn giftcards to awesome places, & you can see deals in stores nearby! The only bad thing is that the wal mart they have for points for me is located in the NEXT town, not MY town. That & if you don't have any 4g or wifi connected you don't earn points for scans and that's annoying for tmobile users who have bad service! Lol. Those are my only complaints! Love everything else though. Btw if you invite 6 friends you're already halfway to a $25 giftcard ;)
