I picked up KoF XIII for my 360 and just decided to look up SNK on my iPhone out of curiosity. I happened across KoFi and thought about it for a few days. When I saw the price fell a couple buck I thought "Eh, what the hell!" and I bought it.
A great alternative to Street Fighter - ★★★★★
For just once I thought that the KOF series is fading away from its past glories, and I believe that others have thought the same as I did, yet this game is great enough to bring back the past glory of the KOF series. Enhanced graphics, sounds, gameplay, and all other factors are enough to attract the previous KOF players, at the same time, the new players too. This game presents way far better that SF volt in terms of graphic, sounds, and controller. As most of the fighting games do, this game also requires quite sensitive and accurate pad control. The visual pad in KOF-I is comfortable enough like a real pad and is even better than that of the SF volt. Once you get used to it, those various jumps in KOF can be pulled off easily and those hardest combos can be done with little practice. As this game focuses on the single game play, this game inspires the players to keep on playing and collect the goods.

This was a surprisingly excellent iteration of King of Fighters. The button layout is customizable, so after a little bit of fiddling I was able to find a position to make Drive Cancels flow like water. The animation is fantastic and game looks gorgeous (particularly the character sprites and the Super Moves). The fighting mechanics are smooth, fast, responsive KOF standard and they work well on the pared down controls (i.e. a touchpad joystick and 5 buttons -1 punch, 1 kick, 1 "Special" (for EX moves or easy specials), 1 evade, and 1 to turn on Hyper Drive).
