Vini-Pietanze [iPad]

Questa applicazione vuole essere un utile strumento di agevolazione nella scelta di un vino, da abbinare ad un determinato piatto, ovvero, nella individuazione delle possibili pietanze da abbinare ad un vino.
L’applicazione fornisce il nome di uno o più vini adatti, per un corretto equilibrio pietanza - vino, ma non indicherà una ben determinata bottiglia (nome, produttore, annata).
Ad esempio, volendo abbinare un vino adatto ad uno spezzatino di cinghiale, il suggerimento potrà citare – fra i tanti - anche un Ghemme, ma non la bottiglia Ghemme 2008 del produttore ABC di Novara. In tal modo l’utilizzatore è libero di scegliere quella che più lo aggrada, fra le bottiglie presenti nell’enoteca di fiducia o al ristorante. Inoltre, l’applicazione indicherà almeno altri due o tre vini (es.: Brunello di Montalcino, Cesanese), facilitando così l’utilizzatore nella scelta della bottiglia da aprire (ad esempio, presente nella lista dei vini del ristorante e ad un prezzo confacente).
L’utilizzatore può:
•Inserire il nome di una pietanza, oppure,
•Inserire il nome di un vino.
L’applicazione, nel primo caso, indicherà uno o più vini che meglio dovrebbero sposarsi con quel piatto.
Nel secondo caso, riporterà una o più pietanze.
E’ chiaro che qualora si preveda di bere una sola bottiglia durante un pranzo o una cena, l’abbinamento è bene farlo con la portata principale (in genere il secondo piatto). Oppure, vedere se esiste un vino in comune fra le due portate del pranzo o cena.
Come si nota l’applicazione è stata studiata per essere di pronto utilizzo.

This application was designed to help in choosing an Italian wine which best matches a dish of typical regional Italian food, or, viceversa, choosing what food can be best matched with a given bottle of Italian wine.
Matching wine and food, is not an easy task, and a mistake can ruin an excellent (and sometimes expensive) bottle of wine, or ruin the flavor of a particular dish, or both.
Typical moments where you need a ready-to-use suggestion are: at a business lunch, when there is the decision to choose the wine and everybody looks at you, waiting for a response; or, when you receive a bottle of wine and you want to know if it can be used for the incoming meal in front of you.
For these reasons the application is very friendly, easy to use, and very quick.
The data base was built according to a well-known methodology suggested by one of the most famous persons in the Italian Association of Sommeliers . It is based on the opposing sensations between wine and food; only one exception: a sweet food requires a sweet wine. The database also contains wine and food matches that I found good during official meals, or, suggested by friends.

I didn’t suggest a particular bottle of wine (i.e.: Lambrusco 2010 by XYZ ), but, in this example, only Lambrusco. In this way you can choose, among all the bottles of Lambrusco, available at the restaurant or the wine shop, the bottle that best suits your meal (and your wallet!).
